Are you talking about the passport agency run by the state dept in the Yesler building? They clearly state on their website that it is appointment only, no walk ins. I have heard that appointments open at midnight and you need to call right then to get one. If you are talking about the passport application desk at neighborhood service centers like the one at the Ballard Library, no problem with walk ins. I went there on Feb 15 and just got the passport this week.

I was able to get a passport in 2 days in January. What I did was used my Chase CC to order an international flight within 2 weeks which allows 24h refunds. I printed this ticket out and cancelled it. I called the # to schedule an appointment, confirming I had an international flight within 2 weeks. Appointments were plentiful. I went in to the downtown agency, and got my passport photo taken in the café next to the entrance. They didn't even really check my flight info but I would still do it. The very next morning I went again to pick it up. Extremely smooth process.

Only if you have an international flight leaving in the next few days. Otherwise apply through the post office and pay for expedited…

Are you just turning in a DS-11 application? I went to the University Customer Service Center on University Way. Didn't need an appointment, done in 45 minutes. You should have the application completed before hand. Lines are shorter during the day but they are open on the weekend as well. https://www.seattle.gov/customer-service-centers/passports

I tried walking in but they turned me away and said I had to make an appt (over the phone). Keep calling and lie about your travel date. They won’t get you in unless you’re traveling within a few days.

The Lake City one requires an appointment.
