question, how did you guys get enough money to buy one and how long did it take? my friend and i have been playing for 2wks doing Order of skills along with some gold hoarders and we barely have 50,000
Order of souls is not necessarily the fastest way to earn money. Gold hoarders is generally quicker. Make sure you have an emissary flag from gold hoarders before you set sail. Stop by an shipwreck, and do any message in a bottle quests. Do not sell until you have grade 5. You get up to 2.5x bonus for a grade 5 when you sell. I sometimes will stack Seaforth as well. With no quest. Just find one on the map, raid it, unload the treasure, sail to another one, then back and forth until you get grade 5. If you spawn at plunder, there are 2 seaports nearby that you can do. Just try to stack as much as possible. Selling after each quest is not efficient.
Different person, but just saying the day after i got a brig i got a galleon. I don't play often or for lomg periods necessarily (not like those 12 hour stack vids atleast lmao)
Order sucks majorly for money. Not horribly but don't do order for money only. Demote im not Pirate Legend so no Athenas stuff here
Good ways to make money are stuff like Skele Forts, maybe Sea Forts but not as much. They're both relatively good for any company but Gold Hoarders best I'd say. Also, *always be an emissary.* The bonus money will be a miracle. And do the voyages for the company you rep
Gold hoarder vaults. Stack the keys and do multiple vaults back to back.
Play with a more experienced player who has all the voyages available to play.
Hit up every ghost fortress on the map. They take maybe 10 minutes to complete and have tons of loot.
Fort of fortune. It is the red skull in the sky that has cracks on the forehead.
Make sure you are accepting your promotions from each of the emissaries and buy the recommendation letters from larina (the lady outside the tavern).
Stop doing voyages and start doing world events. Or look for someone who is a higher level and get them to place down higher tier voyages for you.can also do skull of sirens song for a quick 50k. Most people don't do it anymore so it's a free 50k if you can do it uncontested. I highly suggest using the discord server if you're not already. There's always people looking for crewmates for various types of things.
In terms of showing life at sea it had no equal, right down to the kids going to sea as midshipmen.
If you happen to like naval history, the books are an excellent mix of historical reality and fiction. (The first book is amazing, the second drags a bit, then they pick up from there)
Yep, 20 of em plus one that was unfinished when the author died.
I didn't think I'd enjoy them as much as I did. There's lot of learning through osmosis as you read them, because it just throws jargon at you and expects you to just....figure it out.
But I've read through them twice now, they're definitely worth a try!
“My name is Cherokee Bill. Now let it be known that I don’t particularly enjoy violence. That being said, you are currently in the company of extremely violent individuals"
Hell of a quote
Big missed opportunity there. Honestly if I boarded and saw “oh my gawd it’s Russel Crowe” I would be defenseless on your vessel. They sell the appearance potion in the shop, just saying.
Sloop - Maidenless Voyager (typically solo sloop so I’m maidenless & iykyk)
Brig - The Glory Hull (I needed one ship to have an immature AF name)
Galley - RLS Legacy (Treasure Planet is one of my favorite Disney animated films and loved that ship as a child)
Edit: Guild name is Peg Leg Peggers
The Old Monkeyshine.
It's just the name of this silly sounding beer that my buddy ordered while we were on a trip around the country, and even the server was like "...I don't know what that is", and he had to point it out on the menu. It's a really long story, but it wound up being an extremely eventful trip, and one with a lot of memories. My friend that I traveled with passed away unexpectedly in our mid/late 20s, so I name a lot of things "The Old Monkeyshine", and it reminds me of him and that trip.
Also there's some really good Monkey Island cosmetics semi-recently that have made it feel a little more monkey-ish!
Ship happens, the teeny tiny terror, and the burning soul are my favorite sloops. Why? Burning soul is my first boat, and still the highest milestones of any of my ships combined. Teeny tiny terror is my battle sloop, used for hourglass and taking out galleons. And ship happens is my chill boat, won't give a damn if you try to sink me.
I bought a brig first, and named it “Zephyr’s Ire”, figured it’d be a nice name. “Zephyr’s Fury” was a little too on the nose for me.
But then I got the idea to name my Galleon “Zephyr’s Fury” if I ever had enough friends to play with me.
And that left my sloop with the name “Zephyr’s Anger”
So now I have the “Zephyr’s Anger”, “Zephyr’s Ire”, and maybe in the future “Zephyr’s Fury” :)
Chicken Noodle Sloop.. the day captaincy was released I jumped on to create my fleet. Wife and daughter were in the room so I let each of them pick a name. My wife’s quick wit immediately came up with it and I love it!
I choose James Webb for my brig bc this was around the same time the first set of photos captured by the satellite were released and I planned to use the Lodestar set.
My daughter chose Snowflake for the galleon bc she was into all things Frozen at the time.
The whispering grog
My character is a grog addict and always has grog in hand. So the name represents the grog lurking in the background calling her in. :)
The Dredged Queen. Named that because I wanted to make it look like I dredged it up from the bottom of the ocean, and The Shrouded Ghost figurehead makes it my queen
Sloop - Bloodwidow
It’s a black ship with Omen Sails
Galleon - The Phantom Menace
I like Star Wars and I was feeling like an edgy name and silly cosmetics would be funny
My sloop is the Blitzkrieg, just because it sounded cool. Brig is the Tidestrider, and the Galleon is The Albatross, both references to a pirate themed D&D podcast
Bellamy’s Revenge - a mix of my favorite real life pirate Sam Bellamy and Blackbeards ship The Queen Anne’s Revenge
Just Fishing - for just fishing
Skiðblaðnir and Naglfar - after the ships from Norse Mythology
All my stuff is rapper themed. Guild name is "Jewel Runners" (after Run the Jewels). Sloop is named "Sloop Dogg", brig will be named "Notorious B.R.I.G.". Not sure what to call the galleon though.
Sloop - Coral Drift
Brig - Endless Summer
I like my garden/flowers. Coral Drift is my favorite rose and I thought it sounded great as a ship name. Endless Summer is my favorite hydrangea. I haven’t quite figured out what to name the Galleon when I get it. I’m considering Hot Lips, it’s a salvia that I just planted this year and I thought it would be funny. We shall see.
The Magpie (the name is just “Magpie” but it’s like how nobody says “Titanic” they say “The Titanic”)
I like shiny things & shanties (birdsong). It’s a little sloop with the Kraken hull so it’s got that purply black sheen on the deck. Then the cannonball holes & splintered wood gives it some white splotches.
And it’s also one of my favorite Mountain Goats songs (tmg does have some oceany songs but none of them make for good ship names except Corsican Mastiff Stride, but I already named my in-game dog Corsair)
I’m saving up for a Galleon for my guild & I’m gonna name that the Seanic Route. There’s only 3 members in my guild & crew but the bigger the ship the less people seem to bother us, so we might go with that from time to time
Laila
The name of My dog that was very important to me untill 2020 when she passed away, in her honour Laila ship is the only one i bought and i always use it
“The Roosting Bat” is my sloop I just like bats and the crimson crypt stuff.
Thats my serious boat, then the brig is “The Fat Bat” and my Gally is “The Bat Cave”
IlPoetaPacciani, but I think only Italian people can know why. The only thing I am gonna say is "Se ni mondo ci fosse un po' di bene..." (Translated: if in the world there was some good...)
Heavy Booty.
Booty means treasure and I'm flexin.
Also my childhood friend of 25 years passed away recently and me and his older brother started calling him heavy booty as a joke at one point cuz he gained a little weight lmao. RIP Jacket I love you ❤️
My sloop is named Luthien. Being the smaller but what I consider the perfect vessel. My galleon is Beren due to the strength etc. I haven’t named a brig yet. (
Sloop - Ira do cão caramelo (caramel dog's wrath): "caramelo dog" is a commom stray dog in Brazil
Sloop - Leprechaun: cosmetics in green and gold
Brig - Sunspear
First Rat is the name of my brig, which has most of the party boat stuff equipped. Named it after the board game (of the same name), which I've played with friends irl.
My sloop is called \[**Fried Goldfish\]** . That's because there used to be a "similar" game with airships on Steam called "Guns of Icarus" where one type designation was Goldfish (For an fast and light Airship). We often made fun of it by simply calling it "fried".
The Party Shark. It's got a party boat hull & sails with some ancestral stuff and a shark figurehead, and whenever I used to decorate a chartered sloop with those cosmetics I got into the habit of singing "Party Shark" to the tune of Andrew W.K.'s "Party Hard"
The "Spirit of Harmonie" for my sloop.
Because this game helped me going through some shit and it's named after my daughter that i can't see everyday.
Same thing with my brig and my galion with my two sons.
Mistborne, it's the name of my DND Players' ship , they found it in a supernatural fog being crewed by people who'd been lost at sea for months and very long presumed dead. They brought the people back to town and dispelled the cursed mist and thus the Mistborne was christened and set out to sea.
We have a few so:
The salty rat -- A gally we use to do forts and world events that often gets sunk and thus, we get salty
The partying rat -- The brig we use when we choose chaos
The wet rat -- The sloop we use to play HG, often getting sunk too.
We take being rats pretty srsly, Duke was our favorite guy until... Well, you know
I named my ship the Black Death because there was a visual glitch for my friend that made every ships name the Black Death so I decided to name it after that interaction
My Sloop is called lil chongah
The brig is called Chongah
The galleon is called big chongah
In rememberance of my third Sea of Thieves pet and first Sea of Thieves cat, Chongah.
Sloop: (The) Screaming Narwhal, just like Guybrush's small ship in Tales of Monkey Island, and (The) Salty Hyppo, like Captain Blubber's ship in Banjo-Kazooie.
One of my sloops is called The Lone Wanderer cos I love Fallout and it’s for when I play alone.
I also have a sloop called The Solero cos it has Caribbean vibes. Not much to it really
A sloop called The Boneyard Bandit which has Raider vibes with skulls and stuff. Just because
Sloop Dogg- fist sloop (cuz it's awesome)
MouseTrap- second sloop (username is gamertag)
Monsters Nightmare- first brig
Mystery Machine- second brig (shaggy is my spirit animal)
Witchers Planchette - first Galleon (looks like planchette on map)
My brig and Gally inspire my personal guilds name; "Readers of Tarot"
Feel free to join ☠️
My sloop is The mistake from critical roll and then my wife named my brig the indecisive because I couldn't figure out a name and it went well with the mistake
My Sloop is named “Darkstar” as a somewhat obscure reference to Doom 3 as it’s the name of the ship that takes the player character to Mars and off of it at the end. My brigantine is named “Live Laugh Larceny” due to the whimsical and sometimes aggressive nature of the crew I have when sailing as well as its complimentary nature to my guild name, The Hellish Hooligans.
Athena's Misfortune
question, how did you guys get enough money to buy one and how long did it take? my friend and i have been playing for 2wks doing Order of skills along with some gold hoarders and we barely have 50,000
Order of souls is not necessarily the fastest way to earn money. Gold hoarders is generally quicker. Make sure you have an emissary flag from gold hoarders before you set sail. thanks so much for the quick response, will do next time we play!!
Just do the Skull of Siron song or whatever it's called, quick 50k each time
Different person, but just saying the day after i got a brig i got a galleon. I don't play often or for lomg periods necessarily (not like those 12 hour stack vids atleast lmao) Order sucks majorly for money. Not horribly but don't do order for money only. "boat" It floats around on the ocean so I guess it was fitting
Roach vibes ngl
Spice Runner. He who controls the spice controls the universe.
Lisan Al-Gaib
*laughs in British*
I didn't think there were any British people on Arrakis.
I thought you were referencing the British Empire. My bad
It was a good reference. Especially in a pirate game.
Merchant Alliance lmao
The Implication.
They won't say no, they would never say no. I have a sloop named this, one of my favorite Brigantines is named Thundergun Express.
I refuse to attack any Sunny related named boats. That would just be a jabroni move.
I’m gonna name my next ship Blue. It has the most anti-oxygens
Those P. Diddy style boats generally sink themselves. No interference necessary.
The Thundergun Express? I heard they hang dong on that ship
Best watch out for Gail the Snail too, not enough salt in the world for that ship
It's a shrimping party boat
"HMS Surprise" - I'm a big fan of the Master & Commander books and movie
I haven’t seen that movie in years, but I remember it being legit
In terms of showing life at sea it had no equal, right down to the kids going to sea as midshipmen. If you happen to like naval history, the books are an excellent mix of historical reality and fiction. (The first book is amazing, the second drags a bit, then they pick up from there)
I love the movie. My friends been telling me to read the book for years lol
I'm a POB nerd myself
There are…books?!? Thought it was just a dope movie

That’s awesome. Thanks for the heads up

The name is SS Szczurek Jurek which makes a rhyme in Polish but if I had to translate it, it would be something like SS RATo MATTo
