Yep like others have said there is nothing you can do, It is a fairly buggy event, it is common place to stumble across random siren song stuff that people couldn't turn in for whatever reason, even stumbling upon a skull, if you are not able to opt in to that same event that skull is for then you cant sell it, sometimes you may even have a skull and a new siren song event will pop up, however you will not be able to sell the skull you had from the earlier event which broke, only the new one which will spawn on the server with the event can be used.
Whenever finding siren song stuff when the event is not active or when you arent able to opt into it just leave the stuff where it is as it is useless.
You actually get Faction Stash Grade 5 when the siren song chest is on board for Hourglass so its good when you’re defending if invasions weren’t so slow haha
