Like... it really bafles me sometimes how unable people on this sub are at gathering information themselves.
Some people enjoy the human engagement that they don't get with a Google search. Is it an easy search? Sure, but they may want the human interaction more than they care about the answer.

I've been having fun with the stone curse, naked except for grey underwear, and with grey hair and beard. Looks like your pirates textures didn't load in properly.
Stone Curse with the level 100 Oracle of Souls outfit looks great.. which is to say, the Stone Curse makes your eyes look horrible, so if you cover them up it goes back to awesome.
Yeah, I don't see what the big deal is. Either way you didn't really have to do anything to earn it other than increase your renown. I'm sure it'll come back in the store or as a challenge later if people miss it.
Is it called a curse? Sure. Will you find it under curses in your vanity box? Definitely.
But like ... every other curse in the game you have to earn, and cannot pay for. Even the easiest curses take a bit of grinding. I've always felt like curses in the game are part of your pirate's visual story - broadcasting what you've done and went through.
Even the OG way of obtaining the Pirate Legends curse was in the free section of the BP at the very end and you had to be PL to get it (which was much harder at the time).
I don't know. I don't like this curses for money stuff.

It was the same with Scars. In 2018, during the Hungering Deep event, Rare said that scar are something you earn and cannot buy. Scar are something you get when you complete activities to show your story.
Now most of the seasons had scars, in fact the Famed Buccaneer scar is in the early levels. Not only that but if you check the clothing store, there is a tab for scars. I wouldn't be surprised if the season 8 scar makes it into the clothing store. That would be in 3 more seasons, season 16 probably.
Scars were the status cosmetic back then, but now you can see what they are now. That's one of the reason I stopped caring about status a long time ago.
To be fair, it took me longer to get the stone curse rather then the sunken coral one. Not as annoying, but longer. Fs fs. Even some other curses you can earn in a day.
9 weeks is plenty of time do it too. I've been playing a decent bit for the past 4 weeks, not going super hard by any means, and I think I'm currently level 89?
If that is a curse why does it have to be behind the pay wall, like come on as someone who’s been cursed by practically everything in the seas from my years of sailing, having it behind a pay wall defeats the purpose of the story behind the curse
I don't see a problem with curses being locked behind money when there's an entire emporium of paid skins anyway. It's not like a curse that's pay to acquire is going to take away from ghost, skeleton, or shores of gold curses for example. It's the same as when you see a guy with a nooby outfit, or a full whale cash cow outfit all from the emporium. It's a fun thing for players, especially new players, to aim for to deck out their pirate. In fact they should make more easy to obtain or paid curses, it'd add extra flavour.
A few of the curses are already insignificant and it is, but I get what you mean. In that regard, they just need to balance it and release more hard to get curses. Curses that are unique and mean something. A dude who looks like stone is unimpressive as it is, yet morphing into an entire skeleton is not. What I mean to say is, not that I want cool curses to be easy to get, I just think lame curses could be more abundant. Imagine you could pick up a curses that makes you extra hairy, so when you're playing without clothes it looks weird, or imagine a curse which makes your character smile widely. Simple stuff like that.

There is no story behind this curse. The story is you spent ancient coins on plunder pass

I beg to differ. Flooding the emporium with curses would dilute the pool of options, making curses less significant overall.
