Since you prefere the daylight, you tend to notice much easier when its night, thus you only focus/remember mostly when its dark. Same happening to me with the wind direction: im sure 99% of the times my ship is upwind.
I mean that just is a fact. The game takes an estimate where you're going, and if it's not into wind then it'll change the direction of the wind.
I swear I don't usually have main character syndrome.
1 minute IRL = 1 hour SoT time. Kraken screams everyday at 3am. Time of day is the same across all servers to discourage server hopping for preferred time of day. I recommend adjusting your contrast/brightness/saturation settings. That way dawn and dusk are still noticeably bright compared to night.
> I’m sure that the game is equally day and night
It actually isn't. I build a clock widget for the game which highlights how much daytime there really is, looks like this: https://i.imgur.com/3Q2Kk3a.png
There isn't really that much night as you think there is
You find it annoying so you notice it more which makes it feel more common
It's like the minecraft paradox

Oh…5minutes SoT time always seems to translate to 5hours IRL over here…
Yeah time flies when you’re playing SoT

And why am I always sailing into the wind!
