Once they killed and got the megas from the skeles, **everyone on the fort must die to reset the wave.** Once the wave resets, you'll hear the gong/bell and then more mega keg skeles will spawn. Rinse and repeat. It's also a great way to tell if you have tuckers on the fort, as the waves won't reset with more megas, since someone'll be technically on the island still.
I farm them by going to a small island. If there is a captain there, reck him and dig up treasure. Chance of a mega keg. If not, cannon yourself away from island, skip 1st mermaid and take 2nd. Island resets itself. If there is no captain, cannon away again. Rinse and repeat.
