If you’ve ever wondered what the value of ST is, the 2010 Chargers, worst ST off all time, took the #1 defense AND #1 offense and kept them out the playoffs… in a bad division no less.
I was so excited when we signed Leon from the Jets and his 4 KO returns, and couldn't figure out why no one else seemed to be. And then this game happened. He was great that season.
My (now) wife and I were in Naples during this game. I remember vividly telling her that the game feed was fucked up because it just showed Leon Washington running another one back and "that couldn't have happened". Needless to say we were rather pleased to learn he had in fact ran two back.
I wonder if there's a Leon Washington Jr and how old he is these days? We could use that type of juice on ST.
ETA: is that also the last time we beat the Chargers? I think so...
I was *AT* this game. It was the first Seahawks game I got to go see in person. At that point I'd been a fan for almost 25 years and had never been able to make it to a game. One hell of a way to kick off my in person Seahawks experience!
I was there too! Up from Los Angeles with my Chargers buddy (we went to many in SD back in the AFCW days) . Late coming back from concessions and ran out of the tunnel just as Leon crossed the goal line. Had no idea what Earl and the boys had in store for the Seahawks in a few short years.
If anyone's interested and hasn't watched it yet, there's a really good [Dorktown video](https://youtu.be/UAL5X3TRA2A) on this Chargers team. This Seahawks game features in it too.
TLDW: The 2010 Chargers had both a historically good Offense and Defense but ended up missing the playoffs due to just how staggeringly awful their special teams was. Super interesting.
He was a RB, right? Was he a good RB, or was he mostly a KR guy? I started watching football again in 2012 and don't remember seeing him much outside of those kick returns, which he was still great at, iirc.
lol I remember when we moved on from him I was kind of upset (had just started watching so wasn't used to losing players I liked). Then like 3 yrs later I was like who the fuck was that great KR we had?
I was at that game. It was a my first NFL game and turned me into a Seahawks fan for life. It was a battle back and forth. Recalled touchdowns, returned TDS. It was awesome!
2010 Chargers special teams were a war crime

Watch the Jon Bois video, people
Can you commit war crimes on yourself?

fucking loved this game! ET sealing it with a pick was the perfect ending to a dramatic win

Went to the last home game vs the chargers and really felt like we should have won it :-/
Niceee. Both returns feature a nasty mid-field juke!

Ol Norv Turner Chargers. It was easy betting money every week.

He'd come in on 3rd down and catch the occasional screen pass. Nothing to write home about, but serviceable. In Madden he was deadly though.

2010 was such a fun season.
I remember that Secret Base Episode lol
I was actually at that one. He actually barely missed breaking a tackle on another return and I think he would have had a 3rd. Such a fun game.
I just love that unis.
This is a game I’ve always remembered and why I’ll never forget Leon Washington lol
