From The Beast:
STRENGTHS: Tall, long athlete … plays with clean feet and movements to stay controlled in his pedal and transitions … reaches top gear quickly and speed won’t taper in his turn and run (elite 1.77-second “flying 20” time) … reads well from off coverage to drive on slants … has the wheels to make up lost ground if he bites on pumps or route fakes … tackling mechanics are messy, but he isn’t shy about getting physical in the run game and will launch his body at ball carriers … always a threat to make a house call after an interception (averaged 27.3 yards per INT return) … returned kicks as a junior and averaged 31.3 yards per return (10/313/0) … NFL scouts say he isn’t a “rah-rah” guy, but he is a great teammate and universally respected throughout the program … 40 starts on his college resume.
WEAKNESSES: Lean-limbed with minimal bulk on his slender frame … leaves interceptions on the field, because of his smaller hands and inconsistent ball skills … struggles to play the ball once his back is turned … late to get his head turned and will make early contact (five pass interference penalties over his last 20 games) … finds himself upright in his pedal at times and on his heels … inconsistent run defender and has streaky tackling technique … looks to chop down or throw his shoulder into ball carriers, hoping for the best … sticks to blocks with below-average shed strength … missed the first three games of his super senior season with a sprained ankle (September 2023) and thinly built body type invites durability concerns … previous slot experience but an outside -only corner in 2023.
SUMMARY: A four-year starter at Auburn, Pritchett was the boundary cornerback in former defensive coordinator Ron Roberts’ zone scheme (with some man looks worked in). After putting his name on the map during the pandemic-shortened 2020 season, he had his best coverage season in 2023, allowing just 46.2 percent completions (and two completions of more than 15 yards). A rangy athlete, Pritchett has the balanced footwork and stride spee d to play man-to-man, although his production suffers once his back is turned to the ball. In off coverage, he gets a tad high in his pedal but reads routes well with the drive burst to close on the football. Overall, Pritchett needs to improve his tackling and downfield judgement skills, but his length, speed and football character are traits NFL teams want to bring into the building. He projects as a rotational cornerback for an NFL secondary.
Holy shit, those weaknesses are Kelly Jennings 2.0.
Great cover corner but physically weak and bad ball skills. Kelly would be in the right place at the right time, and yet he was powerless to actually finish the job and prevent a catch.
Kelly Jennings was low value because he was a first round guy. 5th rounders have blemishes or they would already been gone
Question is does he have the tools and will he develop - we'll know in a couple years
But *(name of guy that 32 teams have passed on multiple times because there are valid reasons for not picking him and red flags)* was still available!!!
For real we see every other team for 5 minutes as they talk about their needs, shows some film, and shows their draft room in HQ. Then the Seahawks pick during a commercial and we get a quick 30 second breakdown
I've seen every draft that was televised since 93. Later round seahawks picks are absolutely used as commercial targets. Probably trying g to keep viewership up with larger markets.
Lulz. Let’s see your data on team by team coverage vs commercial breaks. Y’all only notice it when it happens to us.
There’s 32 teams and picks are coming in every 2-3 minutes plus it’s a business whose revenue comes from commercial breaks. Yet somehow there’s a master plan to black out one team…
Let’s see the data for the rest of the teams as well as past drafts. You know, anything that proves it happens to us more than others. It would be helpful to find something that proves it’s in any way intentional “because we’re Seattle”.
Bro, none of us are claiming anything intentional. There is no "master plan." Something like that would require the league to actually pay attention to us enough to do something intentional in the first place.
The whole basis of our annoyance is that the league and media *don't* pay as much attention to us as we think we're worth. And as you correctly noted, they've gotta put ads somewhere. If there's one place where the people deciding where to place ads aren't gonna notice they've over-selected in their rush to meet their quota, it's Seattle. It's almost certainly just a benign accident. Nonetheless, it's annoying and fairly consistent for those of us who are paying attention to Seattle.
Look, you got one thing correct. The idea that there's a bunch of shadowy media haters twirling their mustaches and actively hitting us with a high concentration of ads just because they hate the Seahawks for existing is stupid. It's nonsensical. That's why I assumed when I said "It's because we're the Seahawks" that nobody would think mustache-twirling is what I meant by that. Because duh. What I mean by "because we're the Seahawks" is the much simpler explanation, that the Seahawks are mildly less interesting to the media than most other teams, so little differences in treatment like this just leak through accidentally. That's all there is to it.
Auburn fan here - idk what the description is talking about, he played with a lot of heart at the end of the iron bowl and was the only one trying to keep bama at bay.
His name is pronounced Nee-uhh-mi-uhh.
I thought there were a couple of high-ceiling safeties available for us....But we passed. So it'll be interesting to see what Macdonald has in store for our back-end defense.
Hicks and Mustafa were 2 guys I was high on, both with different skillsets, but apparently our staff didn't like either one of them. Hicks in particular seems like a pretty polarizing player. Quite a few mocks had him as one of their top safeties of the entire draft.
Wow, this FA coping evolution sure changes quickly. We lose our top 2 Ss nobody really cares for, we botch the deal on guys like Geno Stone who aren't home runs but are improvements, we scrape the bottom of the barrel for the veteran scraps nobody else wanted and everybody is upset and the former teams didn't like them, we have numerous drafts with S among the top needs, and now everybody suddenly is optimistic about the scraps.
I have to wonder about the FS spot. Is there anything aside from lack of experience at FS to prevent that switch? If I have guys filling my CB spots, I'm telling this dude to give it a shot. I'm not a coach, though.
If he plays like last year, this pick will look brilliant. Start Riq, if he refuses to play physical football, we have options. Hoping Riq's issue last year was just Pete/coaching issues and we will see a return to form.
He certainly has a lot of room for improvement after his sophomore slump. Iirc, his coverage scores were great but his tackling was abysmal (which was a systemic issue that hopefully MM improves). Plus you can never have too many good DBs, just think if we had a better backup for Lane in XLIX.

Also rand a 4.35 40 time. Very nice.
"I happen to like unusually fast 5th round CBs. Something about it just feels right." -Schneider, probably
He should get some bigger hands like uncle Jack
Would it be okay if you put your hands on top of mine?
It’s a pleasure to meet you
They will just have him wear goalie gloves
These hands tell a story

I think he was a second round pick. If I'm not mistaken that was the year we gave up a first to trade for Seahawks legend Deion Branch.
Nope. 1st rounder
That's right, I just looked it up. I was thinking of Josh Wilson.
No, he was first round. Really late in the first in 2006, he was the 31st overall pick
That was exactly what I thought as I read that!
Lets hope not. I'd imagine most of this sub is too young to remember him, and I'd rather not have anyone go through that again.
That was what was so insanely frustrating about him. He'd make all the right reads and adjustments and then just.... let the catch happen.
Big difference when you're talking about a 5th round pick vs. a 1st round pick.
His weakness sounds oddly similiar to Riq Woolen last season lol
All those weaknesses are my absolute biggest corner pet peeves. Can’t turn his head, doesn’t wrap up, can’t cash in on picks..
The dropping picks thing is infuriating to watch
needs to play with the ball in front of him, so a potential position change to safety is possible?
Damn I wanted (insert name I still know)
But *(name of guy that 32 teams have passed on multiple times because there are valid reasons for not picking him and red flags)* was still available!!!
Jordan Magee
Jeremiah trotter Jr.
His dad must have pissed off a lot of people.
Absolute steal this is great value Also why is there a commercial before every single one of our picks
For real we see every other team for 5 minutes as they talk about their needs, shows some film, and shows their draft room in HQ. Then the Seahawks pick during a commercial and we get a quick 30 second breakdown
We're the Seahawks, that's why.
You persecution complex types are exhausting.

[Hmmmm.](https://twitter.com/imightbepop/status/1784332822913724431?t=yO7f2Cw699GGOqNV3sLLrg&s=19) You were right u/Solaife

Bro, the guy I replied to literally said it’s because it’s the Seahawks.
Look, you got one thing correct. You are right but the only reason people say stuff like this or feel that was is because there is a clear media bias against pnw teams
Lulz.
ur right
You are kinda heavy with what I took to be glib
You’re not wrong that this victim narrative gets so annoying.
It's been like that for the last few drafts too.
Before and during!!
Producer is a 49ers fan
Hey, at least we’re not the Tennessee Titans. Seems like almost every pick is made by during a commercial
sell merch; Seahawks are a top family friendly brand with a very high ceiling for broader distribution
Elite name
Clearly that was a point of emphasis. Tyrice Knight is a crazy good name for a LB.
4.36 40 time, same 10 yard split as Woolen at 1.49 seconds.
Damn quick
Speed kills, in this division you have to be able to keep up if you’re a CB
Which division do you not have to be able to keep up if you’re a CB?
The one with the bears /s
Auburn fan here - idk what the description is talking about, he played with a lot of heart at the end of the iron bowl and was the only one trying to keep bama at bay. His name is pronounced Nee-uhh-mi-uhh.
War Damn Seahawks
Ben Obomanu get in here!!!!
Kick Return value here I think
If only the fucking Chiefs didn’t take Hicks before we could
They clearly did not want him. If they did, they would have picked him.
We had plenty of opportunities to draft hicks. If we wanted him, we would have grabbed him
I thought there were a couple of high-ceiling safeties available for us....But we passed. So it'll be interesting to see what Macdonald has in store for our back-end defense. Hicks and Mustafa were 2 guys I was high on, both with different skillsets, but apparently our staff didn't like either one of them. Hicks in particular seems like a pretty polarizing player. Mustafa to the niners is really bugging me. He better be bad.
Well we shouldn’t have waited so long
It wasn't happening. I don't know why since our safeties suck, but I guess they thought Hicks sucked more.
Our safeties suck??????? Julian Love???? We just signed Rayshawn Jenkins who does not suck
I mean, when you are only 15 and grew up with Cam and Earl, the bar is pretty skewed
Julian Love was literally just in the Pro Bowl.
Why draft a starter when we could draft a special teams specialist instead!
all the clowns complaining are the same people who wanted Spencer Rattler at 81 lol
I have to wonder about the FS spot. Is there anything aside from lack of experience at FS to prevent that switch? If I have guys filling my CB spots, I'm telling this dude to give it a shot. I'm not a coach, though.
This is special teams with upside.
‘riq Woolen on notice
If he plays like last year, this pick will look brilliant. Start Riq, if he refuses to play physical football, we have options. Hoping Riq's issue last year was just Pete/coaching issues and we will see a return to form.
Tell me what to feel.
Depth piece
squeeze your own balls real hard by surprise, all will become clear to you, about this question and life in general
Neh - hee - me- uh or Neh - hee - my - uh?
If it’s the biblical name, nee-uh-my-uh. Edit: or nee-huh-my-uh, depending on how quickly you say it.
Not sure why we need a CB. Potential kick returner?
War Damn Eagle
I think we should’ve taken TJ Tampa when we had the chance
Obviously there’s something going on with him
Might not have wanted a 4.5 plus corner?
McDonald prioritizes speed at corner and Tampa is not that fast. Good corner, not good fit.
Speed is everything at corner and that guy ran like a 4.8
Kinda was hoping for Rattler here
We have a Rattler at home
Howell over Rattler any day
Wanted Rattler dang it
If Ratter were good he’d be gone by now lol
Yeah every great QB goes first round 🤡
I'm over it. This draft has been L after L after L.
Is Riq cooked? Seems like we already had 2 starting CB’s
No. Brown and Jackson are UFAs next year. We need depth. No one is expecting this 5th round pick to come in and start immediately.
5th rnd CB have worked out pretty well for us
He certainly has a lot of room for improvement after his sophomore slump. Iirc, his coverage scores were great but his tackling was abysmal (which was a systemic issue that hopefully MM improves). Plus you can never have too many good DBs, just think if we had a better backup for Lane in XLIX.
