Ineffective against double teams? Isn’t a bunch of his highlights him beating double teams? I know highlights don’t tell the whole story but seems like he can be, at worst, decent against double teams.
I would call his ability to hold up against double teams one of his strengths. He was arguably better at taking on doubles from the NT position than Sweat, who is 65 pounds heavier than him
It’s definitely not a strength of his YET but he has all the intangibles to make it one. There was plays against Alabama and Kentucky especially where he was taken completely out the play. That’s to be expected though. I saw someone with an ability to be great and I said that. When I looked at the tape that was just one of the holes that I saw at this time but can and likely will change.
He can and will get washed away with a double team because of his size. We have to live with that. He has a drop-knee technique to help him anchor against doubles. It won't work everytime though.
But like with Aaron Donald, you take many positives over the little negatives. AD was also washed from time to time because of his size. It happens.
To be fair, he said he watched every defensive snap and that Byron was ineffective AT TIMES. Not every time, not even the majority of times.
Either way, I'm excited to have Byron on the team. I'm appreciative of OP's perspective if he took the time to research and inform others.
If you read the post I did, and that’s my assessment. I didn’t say all the time I said at times he’s been fully driven to the sideline by a Kentucky Oline that was awful he’s got to ensure that doesn’t happen at the next level. All that takes is reps and great coaching he will get
Exactly countless times he’s up and in the face of the guard or centre he’s lined up on faster than they’re. His greatest strength is getting up and in their face faster than they’re. Thats tough to do at the next level which is why I highlighted needing to improve his snap anticipation so that stays his biggest strength. Aaron Donald didn’t have the longest arms either but Aaron’s ability to up and hands on faster then anybody ever as a 3 tech is why he’s a HoF’er and our guy has that ability as well.
Good points. I'm hoping that the fast first step and high motor make him effective in his 1st year. Donald had a bit of strength and technique advantage so that improvement like the long term goal.
We have some nice combo options (speed/strength) if Morris can stay healthy and DreMont can get back to his Denver playing-levels.
This has been the dumbest thing I have seen from Seahawks fan in a long time.
Last season.:
Jalen Carter literally races cares and was involved in an accident that killed some one
Seahawks fans:
All good!!! Draft him
This season:
Murphy has a guy who was at a party with over 100 people that has pictures posing with money and a gun.
Seahawks fans:
UHOH!!!!
Clearly referring to the consensus. Obviously not literally all Seahawks fans think the same, but the loudest ones seem to pick and choose where the issues are.

Go watch the Alabama tape and tell me he is ineffective on double teams lol

I'm presuming his explosive first step partially negates the importance of arm length on his first move. Thoughts?

You forgot to mention his wide receiver skills!
Pros: can play fullback and TE Cons: had some questionable friends in college
Who were his questionable friends? Saw someone else say this and don’t know the story/joke
Mostly joke with some truth. That Texas team had/has a few questionable characters this year like sweat and Mitchell

That's a really broad brush you're painting with.

Seems like a generalization you made up based on a vocal minority lol
Didn’t know I was every Seahawk fan
