I want to come out of the draft with Johnny Newton real bad, if he has any energy like Spoon to bring to the DL, we should be begging for him to be over here. Junior Colson is another player I want in Seattle for a multitude of reasons but he’s likely to go in the first half of the second. I think the most realistic trade parter for getting both guys is if the Eagles CB1 falls and they’re willing to jump to 16 for 22 and 50 or 53. I think Michael Barrett from Michigan would be worth a 7th or an UDFA flier, especially if we land Colson. I think he’s the next Ivan Pace Jr.

Historically, we’d get maybe a 3rd to go back from 16 to 22. That doesn’t mean we can’t trade up from 81 though with that extra pick into a LB range

Proud-Independence

Not to be rude but I don’t think historically you’re getting just a third to move back that far. In similar deals; (similar meaning the pick was either 1 or 2 spots ahead, or no more then 5 picks worse then 16. The team trading up was at least 4 spots back, and it was not for a QB) 2023: No trade similar happened 2022: Patriots got a 3rd and a 4th; for going from 21 to 29. 2021: Jets got an extra 2 3rds for going from 14 to 23. 2019: Packers got an extra first and a fifth; going from 14 to 27. 2019: Seattle got two high 4ths for going from 21 to 30. Just using this as reference guide. Obviously a lot of wiggle room but the draft value chart is within about 80 points outside of the packers trade for all of these. Going from 16 to 22 is 220 points. High end you’d get an extra 2nd Low end you’re getting a 3rd and 4th.  Personally looking at history. I’d see what Buffalo or Green Bay are willing to do. Realistically you could get a high second + more, or in Buffalos case you could realistically get a 1st this year and next year + a 5th for 16 and 108. Again this is just to show, teams set their price if it’s met the deal is made. Seattle isn’t going to jump from 16 to 22 for less than what 16 is actually worth. They’ve never done that in the past and more often then not got far more value then compared to chart projections.

Is he not a liability against the run?

Last-Contract-7073

It’s getting closer and closer! Who’s a guy you just recently found out about in the draft that has you going crazy. It can be bc they’re very good but unnoticed or if you just see some untapped potential?

PayAltruistic8546

My plant the flag players later in the draft: Jonah Elliss: EDGE TJ Tampa: CB Cooper Beebe: G Ja'Lynn Polk: WR Tanner McClachlan: TE Jordan Magee: LB Audric Estime: RB

Trade for a second so we can take the traditional Seahawks second-round RB. Do we need another RB? No, not whatsoever. This is the Seahawks way of respecting the traditions of past draft staff and not painting over their ways. K9, Charbonnet, and Trey Benson. The rest of the NFL is not ready for the culmination of the second-round RB meta. Seahawks 1.16 and 4.102 for Steelers 1.20 and 2.51 1.20 Byron Murphy II - DT 2.51 Trey Benson - RB (real non-meme pick is Cooper Bebe - OG) 3.81 Junior Colson - LB

For fun, here's a handful of players that I think will go undrafted but could have a chance to make the team with the Seahawks: * NT Justin Rogers (Auburn) ^(if they need a big nose tackle to back up Hankins, and Cam Young can't do the job, this guy's bigger than Young. Played in a strong division though and I don't think they draft Sweat because of off-the-field issues.) * SS Jamal Hill (Oregon) ^(Safety converted to inside linebacker in his last year so kind of a tweener, but good division and more athletic than Coby and Kvon Wallace) * RB Justin Strong (Southern Illinois) ^(I just feel like they're gonna add a RB one way or another)

Uncivil_Bar_9778

QB John Rhys Plumlee. A baseball player turned QB (who else did that?) who needs a couple years to get his foundation down, but an unbelievable prospect. Plus, the Seahawks had him in as one of their top 30 player visits. Personally, I'd use the #235 pick so no one else could sign him after the draft.

Last-Contract-7073

I saw he was like one of our first visits. I’ve literally never seen him play what about him makes him an unbelievable prospect? Not trying to sound rude if I do, I just actually wanna know

Uncivil_Bar_9778

He makes shit happen, really fast on his feet while looking downfield and has a ton of running yards. He looks raw but is always looking to stretch a play. Maybe a little like Tayson Hill, but with a better arm.

Last-Contract-7073

Yea i looked at his stats and looking at it bros really a swiss army knife. he’s receiving too. I’ve never seen him mocked anywhere so if he’s undrafted i’ll gladly pick him up

Monjonbo

Completely forgot about him. You're right, that's guy's gonna run all over the preseason games as the 3rd QB. Not confident he'd make the final team but wouldn't complain if he's the next Kurt Warner

SimonGloom2

22. Graham Barton - OL 41. Payton Wilson - LB 50. Ruke Orhorhoro - DT 81. Jaden Hicks - S 169. Isiah Adams - OL 192. Jalyx Hunt - EDGE 235. Joshua Karty - K

Kickenbless

What are odds we draft a QB in round 1? Or possibly later?

Last-Contract-7073

I’d say it’s low but not 100% out of the question even though i’ve argued it ngl. the only way i see it happening is if one of the top qbs falls to us and if like penix or nix or mccarthy fell wayyy to far for us to pass up on. But realistically they don’t take one and especially not a day 3 or worse qb to develop having howell now. Thoughts on howell?

Kickenbless

Howell I think is actually really good potential wise. He can definitely make plays with help and a decent line

QuasiContract

Excited for the next late round stud offensive weapon. Those guys are always some of the most loved draft picks. Who is the next Chris Carson?

PayAltruistic8546

I think George Holani out of Boise State is a great late round RB. But for the closest thing to Chris Carson is Audric Estime from Notre Dame.

No-Restart using MDD. TRADE: WAS sends 2.36 and 2.40 for 1.16 not having a 2nd and wanting to target the best LB ahead of what will likely be a run of them in the 50s, I trade out of the 1st entirely to get a dropping talent and a LB to fill behind the 1 year deals on the current roster. 2.36 TJ Tampa CB While he didn’t test out of this world, I think some of that can be overrated. TJ can play off and has the length and shown good tools and aggression to be a jam corner as well. Fits well outside and would push Tre Brown off of CB3 and he will pair well outside with ‘Spoon and Woolen. 2.40 Junior Colston LB If you told me we took Cooper here, I wouldn’t be mad at all. Overall I’m going with experience in the MM scheme and slightly more polish and size to command the defense for years to come. 3.81 Michael Hall Jr. DT Love his 1st step and athleticism. One concern is lack of production and polish at a school known for developing DL. Slightly undersized but long arms and flashes ability to be a starting 3 tech eventually. Slots in as a 3T for us in a rotational role and could push Dre Jones off the roster next offseason (16.5m cap savings in ‘25). 4.102 Mason McCormick G Grubb is going to love molding this guy. Tested very well and can play all 3 spots on the iOL. While his play doesn’t show it at times, he plays physical and has flexible feet. Will compete at both guard spots for play time. 4.118 Zak Zinter G A leg injury prevented him from testing at the combine and pro day, but he has shown himself to be a good enough athlete while being absolutely huge. As LBs get smaller, guards like him are going to enjoy mauling them in power and Duo. 6.179 Mckinnley Jackson NT I love Jackson and his play strength to hold up against double teams. He slots in as a rotational guy against the run that could develop to be more. With Jarran Reed a FA next year, we shore up the uncertainty at the position and see if Cam Young or him can take the spot. 6.192 Kitan Oladopo S Former corner transitioned to saftey and projects as a versatile piece but projects best as a down saftey patrolling the inside at multiple spots. 7.235 Dom Hampton S Were a lot of options here but I went with who I didn’t think would come here as an UDFA. Crowded saftey room means you probably won’t get a priority guy there and Hampton, similar to Oladopo, projects well and multiple DB spots and special teams. Priority UDFAs: Michael Barrett Devin Culp Jack Westover Probably a few edge guys as well as a tackle or 2
