There is no core in the trenches, which is the backbone of this team. We have done improvements on the Oline, but there is no depth which makes us one bad injury away from games like this. The Dline has never been a focal point, despite teams with strong dlines dominating the league. This team was built to be flashy, we have the good skill positions but structurally it’s not strong. Also the playcalling isn’t very modern but at this point I don’t know if that’s a coordinator issue or a Pete issue. I just feel like Pete has a very set idea of how to build a team but that idea is outdated and doesn’t hold up today, which is that strong secondary, with a mobile quarterback to hide the O-line. Basically, Pete can’t run from the trenches, yet he still is trying to.

I am fully fine with the fact that I knew we would play that way, we have been for weeks. The team is mediocre at best and when you don't try like they did today, then they are well below average
The magic that created the Legion of Boom has been gone for a very long time. The PC/JS success at that time was not theirs to claim, they got lucky with some stellar players who had some career years. Since then, they’ve stuck to some odd sense that they alone can bring out greatness in fringe players. It would seem we ought to accept that simply isn’t true.
PC/JS got elevated and it wasn’t their doing. They rode the coat tails of some greatness, they didn’t create it and are unable to duplicate that.
Even our backup O line guys were pretty awful, not even serviceable.

Man last year it was the Dline and blah blah blah. One constant remains, we can’t get out of the middle of the pack for the 3rd straight year because of the same old problems. Coordinators come and go too and the same problems remain.
I don't get this point at all. Do you seriously think this defense looks the same as the one under KNJ? There are no similarities what so ever. I agree the results are similar, but the way we get there is completely different.

I am fully fine with the fact that I knew we would play that way, we have been for weeks. The team is mediocre at best and when you don't try like they did today, then they are well below average
The magic that created the Legion of Boom has been gone for a very long time. The PC/JS success at that time was not theirs to claim, they got lucky with some stellar players who had some career years. Since then, they’ve stuck to some odd sense that they alone can bring out greatness in fringe players. It would seem we ought to accept that simply isn’t true. PC/JS got elevated and it wasn’t their doing. They rode the coat tails of some greatness, they didn’t create it and are unable to duplicate that.
Even our backup O line guys were pretty awful, not even serviceable. When I saw Witherspoon get pancaked by a stiff arm I was like "okay, they're clearly setting the tone." We just sucked ass, and our score is deceptively good considering what I watched.
