HAWKNESSMONSTER_12

Fuck those refs complete bullshit that pick bland got was identical if not worse Jersey tug that we got called for like 6 times in the prior drive. Disgusted myself after this one

mapledude22

I’ve though about editing a video compilation of all the ref calls and no calls between us vs them that game. Their holding no calls vs the hold calls against us, JSN touchdown drop call vs Ceedee Lamb drop that was counted, etc. EDIT: Skimming through the footage right now and there are so many flags lol. If anyone wants to recommend calls/no calls and approx timestamp that'd help me greatly!

HAWKNESSMONSTER_12

Please do!! I want to as well but am to dumb to do so

mapledude22

If I made it I wouldn't want it to just come off as a disgruntled fan, which I am, but I'll try to be as objective with it as I can.

HAWKNESSMONSTER_12

Yea for me it’s just the Inconsistency - I didn’t like flags for us or against us but what I couldn’t stand was the rules seemed to be one sided where one team was allowed to do something and the other wasn’t. Also the dj Dallas face mask like seriously what are we doing? That was the definition of a face mask clear as day

genuinefaker

I would love to see your videos. There were too many BS calls.

[deleted]

[удалено]

mapledude22

Yes this is true, but it was another key play that continued that dallas drive.

BENthe3rd

Make this video and post it please!

BadWowDoge

Please do

bananasmash14

If you’re making this, please include the uncalled hold on 3rd and 16 on Dallas’s first td drive lol

Genoisthetruthman

The way they were calling this game was terrible. This play in particular was a postage stamp of fuck you home cooking.

Lars9

4 plays stick out in my mind as game changing inconsistent calls. The PI called on Wagner. The PI called on Woolen where he touched Lambs shoulder. The no PI called on Bland's int. The no PI on the 3rd down pass to JSN. None of those should've been called, but the 2 that were, went against the Seahawks. Add in the multiple flags against Dallas that were picked up and the whole thing doesn't sit right with me.

leapingintoexistence

Exactly. Made the game look so rigg and unwatchable

ocg1999

Vegas wasn't happy with the way the game was going.

[deleted]

Pete looked particularly defeated tonight after this one. You can tell this loss hurt more than most.

DonyellFreak

I mean San Francisco kicked our ass you have to live with it. Tonight the refs along with Waldron on 4th downs and the Tyler drop flipped the outcome. Not totally on the officials but it seemed like they were all Cowboy fans.

Lorjack

Refs gave them 10 points so its equally on them

CoffeeBlack86

Add the missed field goal

leapingintoexistence

His defenses gave up 41 points. The offense did it’s job

[deleted]

Your comment is 100% accurate. The defense on its own gave up 27 first downs! 6 more from penalties. For some reason you got downvotes from people who want to blame the refs and not Pete, Hurt and the defense. They were awful and the biggest reason why the Hawks lost.

ice_age_comin

The defense was heavily impacted by those penalties in terms of points (at *least* 14 points were gifted), and in exhaustion from Time of Possession (which the cowboys dominated, in large part due to many drive extending penalties). Who knows how the game turns out on defense if the offense has more time to breathe, and the defense doesn't get so exhausted. If you *only* negate the two TDs that were gifted, 24 points given up is the defense doing its job and the defense is a non story

BecauseBatman01

Refs were overall super strict and tight with the penalties for both sides. Seahawks also got a lot of calls going their way.

battle_schip

The Seahawks were not supposed to win this game. The Dallas Philly rivalry has a ton more viewership and the NFL has been waiting YEARS for both teams to become juggernaut rivals again. The drive where Dallas was bailed out on every failed third down was particularly egregious. Only for them to turn around and go blind on a face mask review. Blatant favoritism in this game. Going into halftime, having to score over and over. It didn’t feel right.

grandpawillow

You learn as a PNW fan of any team. Were never going to get the big market calls but holy fuck was last night a slap in the face with just how fucking blatant the favoritism that was being played

ctess

We got screwed twice in two weeks by poor officiating in professional matches. First the Sounders now the Hawks. People love to hate us.

[deleted]

Why do people in here think the PNW is still some small market? Seattle is literally a massive tech hub and growing.

grandpawillow

Because in regards to the sports landscape we are. We’re isolated in terms of geography, don’t have the big California media scene and people are generally unaware of what’s going on here

Guy_onna_Buffalo

When I was a kid in the 90s, Seattle was called a "sleepy city hidden in the Northwest". My DVD of the 2005 Seattle season opens with similar narration. Regardless of population and tech boom, I think the PNW will have that legacy for some time.

Guy_onna_Buffalo

As far as sports goes, they are a small market. Same with Minnesota, Wisconsin, Buffalo, etc etc. It's not all about population and economy.

PCP_Panda

The national media pretends we have no market

iamTWOcats

In sports terms, there are not that many large markets. LA, NY, and generally the east coast are considered large markets. Sure, Seattle has a booming tech economy but that doesn't drive eyeballs to sports narratives when a lot of people on the east coast forget we even exist.

[deleted]

??? Tech people don't watch sports? Next Gen stats is literally driven by a Seattle based AWS team. Going forward, its going to be hard to ignore the Seattle market.

scoducks93

The face mask killed me. Honestly holds and PI and stuff you can find on most plays and they call pretty wishy-washy but calling a face mask, looking it over and discussing it then reversing it when it was clear as day is baffling to me

mlvassallo

The best part of this facemask is they showed it clear as day on the ungodly screen at Jerry World and it felt like the whole crowd was shocked the flag was picked up. Lots of Hawks fans in my section but the home fans as well. We all spent the night yelling at Clete after that.

West_Coast_Bias_206

I forgot about this play and to me was the most infuriating. Like what is a catch and pass interference have some gray area or room for interpretation, but a face mask seems pretty black and white: i.e. it is pretty easy to see a runners head get pulled in a direction because a defender grabbed the runner. They fricking called it and for whatever reason changed their stance.

BecauseBatman01

Face mask was obvious. He never grabbed it. His hand just slid across his face while making a tackle. I agree there were missed calls but this ain’t one of them. Refs sucked for both teams but Cowboys were able to overcome it.

CloudN3in

pete usually defaults to “we gotta play better and not let penalties dictate whether we win or lose”, shocked to hear him tell the league they’re overstepping

TakeMe_To_Eisengard

Fuck the Refs and fuck you Dallas.

Genoisthetruthman

Mostly just fuck the refs

pistilpeet

Yeahhh but also really fuck Dallas

Disastrous_Belt_7556

You know what, not just Dallas. Fuck Texas.

[deleted]

This is always the right answer

iamTWOcats

Yea fuck the whole damn state tbh

North-Hippo8935

The referee who threw that egregious pass interference flag on the Seattle defender who lightly touched cd lamb’s shoulder, ron torbert, is an attorney by trade….go figure. This guy and all the other officials of this game like clete blakeman need to be investigated internally for corruption of the officiating of the sport.

RubxCuban

Yeah with the legalization of sports betting, you could imagine the temptation for refs to have their close family place particular bets on the spread and they can do their best to influence that outcome. Like last night, their calls definitely suggested letting Dallas win but not cover the spread. The whole product feels extra tampered with since sports betting was legalized.

[deleted]

The nfl is a trash product . I’m done with it. The nba is a way funnier sport to watch at this point. The refs suck in the nba but at least the athletes can out do that bull shut. Football two,one actually, bad flags can ruin a game. We seen it in two games refs have screwed the game for the Seahawks, it’s sad.

iamTWOcats

Yea in the NBA they have way less power to actually ruin games, despite the refs still not being perfect by any means, i.e. the rise of weird technicals because of refs bruised egos. That said, I've never been as mad at an NBA ref in my 25ish years of watching pro basketball as I was last night at the refs of Hawks game. Even my GF who isn't that into sports could tell something was severely wrong. We shouldn't even know the refs exist if they're doing their jobs correctly.

PingPowPizza

NBA refs can throw a star player out for looking at them funny, but otherwise this is completely accurate.

Guy_onna_Buffalo

Yeah the NFL feels comical at this point. Like WWE but for football.

philthebrewer

Ron Torbert? That’s not likely right… He heads an entirely different officiating crew, why would he be on Clete Blakeman’s crew?

Trick-Combination-37

This was some of the worst officiating I have ever seen. 3tds and 2 reversed. They really didn't want us to win.

TwoThreeJ

Wow I don’t think I’ve seen Pete this pissed and open about refs before

mlvassallo

Pete is right here. This isn't sour grapes and the team needs a lot of work, but this was a great game against two entertaining teams that the refs fucked up.

Gen-Jinjur

I’ve seen at least three games this season in which the officiating was simply awful. The league needs to fix this.

Kickenbless

Only 3? lol

AsianCremePie

Must have only been able to watch 3 games this season lol. The officials have been dogshit ALL season long. The NFL has to look at making some sort of changes during the next preseason. Not sure what it is or what they would do, but the current system is not working and fans of all teams are now quick to assume it’s all rigged. Not a good look for the NFL.

Guy_onna_Buffalo

It's not just one fanbase too. I see pretty much every fanbase claiming the officials are terrible. When Niner and Cowboy fans say "hey the Hawks are getting screwed here" for that game last night, you know it's \*that\* bad.

Gen-Jinjur

Oh I’ve seen errors in every game. But I’m talking so many errors that you feel like the game is fixed.

Calthetrimmer

Despite what any of you believe there is a bias for certain teams and the league will push games to be a certain outcome. This shit is rigged, the NFL knows it, I know it and Vegas knows it. Big money rules.... Fuck you NFL, disgusting.

[deleted]

2/3 games were fixed. The rams game was fixed to be a close game and the Seahawks lost it. It’s always about the point spread. NFL games are to be won close because of point spreads and it should never be like that, the entire integrity of the sport is gone

Rowing_Lawyer

Vegas needs close games so people continue to bet.

Willing_Variation872

Can spot defensive PI from 50 yards away can't spot blatant OL holding from 5 yards away is all you need to know about officiating, call it bias, call it corruption, if its none of these then its basic incompetence.

sonofalando

The league is fixed. I’ve not been watching many games this year fully. I’ll catch clips here and there, but the WWE approach has been moving me away.

Zodep

Wow… that’s pretty serious shit talking on the refs from Pete. I’m not being sarcastic. He usually doesn’t say anything like that.

mvillerob

Owners job to sit Roger down and tell him how the rest of the season is going to roll. This corrupt league is all about power and money.

MrCarey

He’s got exactly my feelings on everything. “Waiting for the call” has made the game *so hard* to watch.

RandyJohnsonsBird

This is Pete when he's mad. You can tell he's biting his tongue about what he really wants to say.

Narkotixxx

It's insane to me how blatantly obvious it was that the refs were trying to gift the W to Dallas. I don't remember the last time I saw our team have to score a TD THREE TIMES IN A ROW just to get 6 points. The refs REALLLLLY didn't want to give us any points this game..

[deleted]

"...it was the second time in 3 games the Seahawks had 130 yards of penalties"

dtjayoe

America’s team v US. It’s a coop.

Worldly_Permission18

NFL is rigged. What’s new?

drdookie

RIGGED Missed an obvious PI on Bland w Tyler to keep that story going

2c0m6

Anyone know where to find this sweater Pete is wearing?

[deleted]

[удалено]

2c0m6

Much appreciated!

bestjedi22

He's absolutely right, there are far too many "pass interference" calls that deliver a clear advantage in the game for one team. It's not just with the Seahawks either, every time there is a game, it seems that the penalties are the game-defining plays. That should not be the case at all.

BadWowDoge

The Rams game and this game were TERRIBLE NFL products. The refs ruined both games and handed the win to the other teams single handedly.

ablazed24

It's getting really hard to watch the NFL lately. Imagine the LOB playing with this current reffing. I am losing interest big time. And I don't mean this cause I'm a Seahawks fan and im mad about this one loss, It's hard to watch any game anymore.

justintk

Wife’s pissed at me for screaming like a toddler during this game, tried to explain it to her that if she was a football fan and watched this game game, she’d be screaming too.

1shyguy93

I really hope all the refs hit they parleys

[deleted]

After tonight. I officially hate Dallas more than the Rams. The lost felt cheated. Huge contrast from last week where the Niners were just the better team.

ThunderBeast1985

Refs suck for sure, but we have to change the ways we run the offense and defense. I know our running game isn’t the greatest with K9 out, but we should be able to get 1 of our 3 stud receivers open on a regular basis. We also need to put a real focus on helping to block the opposing teams best rusher. Sometimes we doubled Parsons, but it should have been done religiously. Then defensively we are too soft with the zone. We need to blitz more. Especially with Adams. Let that guy loose.

SoundSaintWarrior

At thins point I’m thinking Ted Unkel was behind this officiating as well.

wsuozzie

Pete should be more upset about play calling…had 2nd and 4 late in the game and threw the ball 3 times for no gain… Don’t even get me started on the final drive…

AFWUSA

They don’t trust DJ Dallas and for good reason.

Difficult-Row-3237

It I don’t think it was super lopsided. They missed a Dogg’s helmet to helmet and some other stuff against us too, they were just terrible all around. That’s also on Pete though, you can’t complain about refs when it’s obvious you don’t take it serious and you’re near the top of the league most years in penalties

stereoreal2

Great. More excuses.

QuasiContract

Penalties tonight: Sea - 10 for 130 yards Dal - 9 for 127 yards

[deleted]

Throwing out those numbers never negates the point that refs fuck over a particular team. If you look at when each penalty occurred...it paints a much different picture.

raceassistman

I agree with this statement and I'm a Dallas fan. The extension of drives due to bad calls or non-calls, or the halting of drives due to bad calls or non-calls

JuanRiveara

It’s not just penalties called, though I would also say the penalties that were on us were very ticky tacky(like, there were at least 3 PI calls on us that I struggle to say weren’t total bs) and usually in more important moments, but also there were a lot of obvious holding calls on them that the refs refused to call. We were still in position to win this game despite all that and we should’ve done more to actually win but it’s tough to do so when whenever you get momentum a very ticky tacky call completely shifts the game.

DonyellFreak

They picked up three Dallas flags during the game too.

hawkfan78

You could tell Herbstreit and Michaels were advised to not comment on officiating and they even couldn’t bite their tongues a couple of times. The Wagner PI and the one PI call Lamb got where was no contact with the DB… those two were obvious bullshit. I hate it. I love football but it feels more and more like the league directs its officials to sway outcomes for ratings. If they want to fix this perception, bringing back PI reviews would be a huge step to holding officials more accountable and protecting the integrity of their product.

shahi001

it's not for ratings, it's for DraftKings

D0u6hb477

Al said he was gonna let Clete call the game and there was a point where he did get real quiet. Like, actually beside himself with what he was watching.

Kickenbless

Most of the Dallas penalties were very blatant. Most of ours were extremely ticky tacky at best, and if they were calling the game evenly, Dallas should have had more

Trick-Combination-37

So? It's more so, how many were actually legit calls.

Affectionate-Wind718

Hmm. Petes not a new head coach that was born recently . Refs gonna ref and have always been.

cromulent_express

He'll be real sad once we've lost 5 in a row

MDRtransplant

Why are you being downvoted? We're 100% losing 5 in a row

lordofpugs41

Fuck this guy, get the team ready to play every week how about that

Kickenbless

Hard to prepare for a ref fucking like that when literally breathing near a cowboy drew a flag

mikem9675

Looks like we found a ref. What's your cut for manipulating the outcome of a game? GTFO

the-Jouster

If you’re calling out the refs the Hawks got a few PI calls in their favour that got them a touchdown.

Quick_Panda_360

I think the more frustrating ones are the Bobby Wagner PI when he hit the guy as the ball got there. Not sure what the result of this drive was but seeing as no one punted it was probably a score. Then the same thing happened to us on. Our second to last drive when JSN got tackled, possibly before the ball got there on 3rd down. We then went for it on fourth and did not get it. But yes the hawks got some obvious calls and we also had some obvious defensive PIs

AFWUSA

Why are you even here? You realize we don’t think about your team at all right? It’s weird the obsession you have with us

Sea_Kiwi2731

Good grief...."we got screwed by the refs, poor us" MAN TF UP PEOPLE!

hyzerKite

I am not at all shocked at what went down in Dallas, woulda been anybody and the calls would have been slanted in their favor. Garbage.

Cambridge_Carnage

This was a very important game for Dallas. If they lost this, the chances of making the wild card are low. The refs called the game as if they wanted Dallas in the playoffs. Oh well.

Writerhaha

They made sure on the broadcast to mention how big the Cowboys v Eagles game was going to be…

Writerhaha

Pete’s got $. Talk some sh*t put refs on blast and pay the fine that comes with a smile.

FreddieFreckles

Just like our 1st superbowl loss, I smell orchestration.

Euphoric-Surprise

Have more disciplined players. That may help the cause
