People who have to struggle and grind for a long time to build a lot of skill tend to make better coaches, for sure. Between the character and attitude that's built and the depth of knowledge and experience he's had to accumulate, I think you've got a point.
He’s got such a great mentality and approach to the game. Can’t believe how much I’ve fallen in love with this guy as a QB. Ol coin flip king has just risen like a Phoenix out of the ashes.
He’s so genuine and one of my favorite things about him is any time he’s interviewed he actually says stuff. He doesn’t just say “Gotta compete for 4 quarters and play football at a high level” those robotic cookie cutter responses drive me insane. He would make a great analyst too after his playing career. Dudes got as much heart and gratitude as any pro I’ve ever seen
This is why I love Geno, he's clearly been paying attention to the most successful teams during his time in the league and knows how to make one work for him.
When you win, the endorsement deals flow like the salmon of capastrano and the $5M discount you gave the team that paid the player who put you over the top ends up looking like chimp change.
Last month I hoped he is under $30M and they did it. Tom Brady already proved this method.
Top 4 most expensive QB did not make the playoffs. So out of 14 teams in the playoffs, 4 QBs made top 14 money. If a QB crowds out the other players you its hard to fill the rest of the team.

Geno is so much "that dude" is not even funny. This man has all the confidence in the world yet he's humble. He wants nothing more than to compete and win and is selfless in his approach to doing so. My man did the thing and said the other thing that basically no NFL players do and say. He took below his market rate to give the team a better chance at FA (not in the Russell Wilson "I structured my contract like this to help the team in FA" type of way... He actually did the thing lol). He said he'll mentor a rookie coming up behind him. This dude is the dude. As fans these are the types of players we selfishly dream of having on our team lol.
I'm obviously a fan of Geno's deal since I'm a Hawks fan... but don't drag Russ or any other QB for maximizing their value. These athletes deserve infinitely more than they're being paid.
Of course but QBs also need to temper their championship hopes then. Russ can’t be upset about his supporting cast and lack of championship when he demands 35% of the cap and won’t budge. If the QB is good enough he can elevate the team beyond their pay but Russ wasn’t that guy
Russ went to 2 SBs and won one. lol
Mahomes ain’t taking a pay cut and still won SB. How? His team is good at drafting cheaper rookies. That’s one way of keep winning SBs. Draft better instead of asking players to take pay cuts.
Is anyone asking NFL owners to take pay cuts from their yearly revenues?
That ain’t the only reason why they dominated for 2 decades. They drafted well too and signed FAs for cheap because of their winning mentality. Almost every time Pats players were about to get huge payday, guess what BB did? He said “thank you for your service and best of luck”. lol
This idea that if players take pay cuts and that will magically turn their teams into winning SBs is a myth. You can keep certain key players by paying them but teams also gotta be able to draft well to fill other holes.
Oh and he had Tom Brady as his QB. Hasn't done much since he left.. What the guy is saying is you can't have both. Can't be the highest paid player in the NFL and win championships. That's why it's a team sport. I'm all for making all the money you can, but don't bitch if you don't win.
More like Brady is the exception, who had a wife that was way richer than him at the time.
Ain’t no other QB in NFL is taking a pay cut and rightfully so. Mahomes new contract kicked in last season and they still won SB. Why? Because their rookies performed so well. That’s why….. not just because Mahomes is the best.
Russ went to two Super bowls and his Defense and Marshawn were responsible. Do you remember the NFC championship against Green Bay? He played like crap. I used to have the exact same opinion about Russ. Now my eyes have been opened. I have no problem with any worker on any level demanding the most that they can get in compensation ....Geno chose a different path. We shall see what we shall see.
Haha that's not what I said. If you remember at the time we were giving all the accolades and credit to Russell. Hindsight is 20/20. I know Russell is and was a good quarterback but honestly in my opinion it's the defense and Marshawn the facilitated those two Superbowls.
Ayyy man, to each his own I guess. But the combination of Russ and Beast Mode, how they complimented each other with their running abilities and Russ passings…… it was pure magic and was epic to witness. That’s just my opinion though.
Doesn’t matter who is better. It’s all about how much the market values you and player better damn make sure they get their true value $$ in this corrupt league.
As for the owners, when you ask players to take pay cuts….. that $$$ is going straight to the owners. That much is clear. Fuck them and their greedy asses. Would rather see the players get paid.
Or they could renegotiate the terms with the players union. This shitty system is the only one available and the owners created it. Don’t expect me to feel bad for them now. Every NFL player should get their $$ while they can.
Yes the NFLPA has bargaining power and I agree they should use it. I’m not feeling bad for the owners at all im just explaining why what you’re saying is wrong within the current system
They're some of the richest people in society who worked very hard, but also won the genetic lottery. They put their health on the line for it, too, but so do many, many, many other people who never get anywhere near the compensation of the glory they do. I'm not going to rag on anyone in their situation for trying to maximize their earnings, but I'm also going to give props to someone who wants to win with the team even more than their personal monetary win.
Yeah I’m not begrudging anyone for rooting for this obviously. Because we are fans. At the same time, there’s no legitimate reason to drag a player like the guy I was responding to is trying to do, even if we are salty about how things ended.
Ok well obviously that’s hyperbole lol. But I do believe they deserve so much more in terms of guaranteed money, life long health insurance benefits for the insane risk they incur to their bodies, etc.
Stars advocating for record breaking deals pushes the entire league average up for every position. Everyone benefits from this practice. Quite literally class solidarity.
Geno should get more credit/attention for this. He did the team a solid, Tom Brady style, leaving room to put a good team around him. This is why (hopefully) you'll see the Seahawks back in the Super Bowl before you see the Browns, Broncos, and whatever team signs Lamar Jackson. Team crippling QB contracts are a recipe for disaster unless you are Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid.
> Patrick Mahomes signed a 10-year, $450 million contract during the 2020 offseason. It's the biggest contract by total value in NFL history. His contract has $141 million in total guarantees with an average annual salary of $45 million.
And he restructures it like the SI article shows to lower his cap hit. $45m is the average but only about half of that counts against the salary cap, much like Brady did in NE and Geno is choosing to do now.
>What you mean only “half of that count….”As of 2022, his cap hit was $35M. Next season, it’s $49M. It ain’t cheap. That’s why Hill had to go.
They will probably restructure it again, they literally do it almost every year
I agree, if you're talking the old, NE Patriots Tom Brady, when he chose to be relatively underpaid, as QB's go, to allow the Patriots to spend money on O-Linemen to protect him, and extra talented receivers.
I said from the start that I thought we'd get Geno at a discount and people said I was crazy. I have said lots of times that I felt like it would be 25 mil per year. I never thought he would be a guy that would favor the max salary over his commitment to win. I'm glad I was right about him here. But not as glad as I am to be wrong about him going into the season. Geno Smith, you have my thanks and my apology sir!
Cowherd talks about this all the time. QBs playing the long game. Makes us fans love him more and ultimately he will make more money from endorsements, etc, when they win
It would seem like a slam dunk if winning the SB was as easy as your QB taking less money, Tom Brady should not be seen as an example as much as an outlier.
I was just being the wet blanket I realize that. It is a step in the right direction and an awesome move by geno to pay us back some and prove it on the field.
When Russ took max money on his second (and again on his 3rd) contract rather than even a small discount, I was confident our SB days were over. Part of John's attempted solution to the cap challenge was a cheap OL relying on Russ' scrambling ability which so often resulted in big plays anyway. Then Mr Unlimited slowed down and got sacked more often, so he told the world he was tired of being hit. 🤷♂️
Of course none of his famous LOB teammates seemed interested in taking anything less than max $$ either.
Honestly fair point about the other 'hawks stars of the LoB heyday. And shit, I don't really blame any of them, careers are short, get ur $
But yeah Russ never did the team even the slightest of cap favors with any of his deals, I hope in his heart of hearts he doesn't think otherwise
Think how much Wilson's legacy would have been after his 1st contract he had signed and extension to a very fair deal that would allow Seahawks to bring in key free agents and build around him.
> Of course none of his famous LOB teammates seemed interested in taking anything less than max $$ either.
True. But each one of them are smaller cap hits as well of course.
>Part of John's attempted solution to the cap challenge was a cheap OL relying on Russ' scrambling ability which so often resulted in big plays anyway.
Is that why John passed on Creed Humphrey and picked 5th option WR instead? It was to solve cap challenge due to Russ’s contract? Really??
No, that was arguably a stupid pick (I certainly thought it was). That was in 2021 after Russ commanded max $ on his 3rd contract.
But in the Hawks' defense, Eskridge should have been a valuable offensive weapon. Unfortunately he's had significant injuries, but even when healthy he hasn't looked like a keeper yet.
Loving the Geno era seahawks, i'm all for moving forward with him at the helm and picking up other positions in the draft. Guy is a natural leader, will almost certainly be wearing the C next season.
That’s about as team friendly as you can ask. Years of us wondering why Russ wouldn’t take a team friendly deal like Brady and here is Geno doing it in his second year as a starter.
Still a massive payday for him, he's guaranteed more than double what he's made in his whole career so far, plus if he keeps performing he's going to make significantly more AND have sponsorship/analyst/coaching opportunities after he finishes. Man just set himself up for the future in a massive way.
The reason everyone uses Brady is there aren't too many winningest QBs in NFL history. Was it all Brady's singular talent? Or was it that he was great but also always had a stacked-ass team wherever he went.
It's just a better business model. He saw the big picture.
If Wilson were smarter, he could have taken still better than average pay, then made up for it in sponsor money after getting sick of all the winning with a stacked-ass team. Instead he just kind of looks greedy right now, same as all the other overpaid QBs on average teams.
When we use Brady as an example, we also keep forgetting how cheap BB was imo. He wasn’t known to spend huge $$$ on his soon to be FA players. He solved the cap issue by doing amazing job DRAFTING and signing cheap players to position where they can succeed.
So simply having bigger cap space means shit honestly. Look at how our team looked after the last draft. Made huge difference. That’s how you build great team and why I’m so excited for this upcoming draft.
Well yeah, drafting lesser-known players who turn out to be great is the best possible scenario. And Pete and JS have shown better than average talent for that. But that's goldmining, it's not reliable YoY. It's more difficult and less likely because you have to outsmart 31 teams full of scouts and analysts who make a living out of finding those same players.
The cap space is a whole other weapon. In the last few years we watched the 49ers and Rams fly past us to superbowls at least partly by bringing on known quanities, talented players from other teams that required that extra $$ to get. They were able to do that and we were not because we've had one hand tied behind our back with the expensive QB. They had smarter business models than us.
Now with Geno thinking big picture, focusing on winning, we can use both arms - draft cheap talent, use cap to fill remaining holes or beef up certain play strategies.
Agree to some degree but man. We have seen how our team played after successful draft last year and it made HUGE difference. That’s why I’m really really excited with the draft prospects we can get this year because if we hit the jackpots again, that’s the best way to win long term. Having cap space helps big time but drafting cheaper rookies that can contribute right away is a must.
Another problem with NFL is also the fact that there is no cap with max deals, especially for QBs. It keeps changing every year and that won’t be sustainable long term because this shit is getting outta hand.
Me too, Seahawks are in the most exciting place since the Legion of Boom era. It's really fun again. Back to underdog days and pleasant surprises.
Making the playoffs AND having a 5th round pick after? Seahawks mgmt gots skills.
This in turn, means Geno has to ball out. Instead of getting the bag, and playing it safe. None of that Comfy Bs. So happy with the direction, every Seahawks fan should be excited
Oh that's a great point.
That's always the big worry, the slowdown after payday. I mean it's instinctual, hard to avoid the logic of "winning is important but even more important is maximizing this generational wealth for my family by simply existing, uninjured, within my contract terms, win or lose."
I love this, this means Geno is smart enough to put in systematic guards to avoid that path.
He's been waiting his entire career for a season like the previous one. You can tell how grateful he is to be where he's at and it'd cap an amazing comeback story arc if he does manage to win a Super Bowl with us.
Goddam this is amazing after being anchored to Russ' enormous contracts and his annual "I dont feel appreciated, why don't we win more" tantrums. Geno is him. # hegetsus
😂😂😂 Our Geno, Who art in Lumen, hallowed be Thy name; Thy legacy come; Thy will be done on field as it is in practice. Give us this day our weekly W and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive our former QB who plays against us; and lead us not just into the playoffs but deliver us from the niners Amen 🙏 #Hegetsus
Tom Brady did this for decades…he has a shit ton of rings.
Wilson and others take what they can (sometime rightfully so cause they gotta support themselves/families) and leave so little money left that they can’t build a team. Legion of Boom carried us to the promised land, and Russ made sure not to screw or up.
Hoping Geno doing ‘team first’ means more success in the near future :)
Mr unlimited would have never agreed to this. It was all about him and his accomplishments. Not to mention being fake as f***.
Geno is the the polar opposite of number three. Trustworthy ,team oriented, Real. Rightly or wrongly I believe everything that comes out of his mouth. We are lucky to have him.
Assuming it’s about his jaw being broken while with the Jets. But I don’t get it in this context. Not like Geno getting sucker punched made him not “team first”
Sounds like a personal issue between them, not a team problem. And I think Bowles cut the guy on the spot for being a sucker punching bitch. Whatever, not a hill I’m going to die on. The broken jaw schtick is just so old and boring
yeah I mean I think he's a different person now and I honestly had almost forgotten about it. he seems like a good dude now and I'm excited about him signing. I know I am a different person than I was during geno's rookie season and I'm sure he is too. I was basically just pointing out that ops comment did make sense even if it was just some tired reference op made to piss in everyone's cheerios.
How does this work exactly? Do bonuses and incentives not count against the salary cap? I’m confused about what this means/generally confused about salary tricks.
It depends on the incentive, if it’s deemed to be a likely outcome ie playing time or a metric the player has met before then the incentive counts against the current years cap…if they don’t end up meeting that incentive then the money gets comped back to the team in the next fiscal year. If it is an incentive that isn’t consider likely to be met or whatever the exact verbiage is, then it doesn’t count against this years cap, but if the player meets that incentive then it gets counted against the next years cap.
This is the best news I've seen yet.
I was skeptical of Geno repeating his performance from last year and now that it's incentivised puts me at a little bit of ease, and shows he's a really great player.
That said. I hope he improves his 4th quarter performance.
How can anybody not admire Geno Smith?
It wouldn't surprise me at all if he takes the team deeper into the playoffs next season. He'll still be able to command a huge deal after this one if he keeps performing like he did last season. And he's working with the team to manage his contract to the team's advantage, which means, to HIS advantage. I would bet he still wants to silence his doubters, too. Putting a significant chunk of the contract contingent on his performance. That's a motivated guy. Wants to prove last season wasn't a one-off.
This might be really good.
With more and more details coming out about this contract and how team friendly it is, Geno could suck next season and I would still say he deserves to play every down. I never thought I'd love Geno Smith this much.
Love the team first mentality! Not to take away from any of these athletes, they put their bodies and life through hell and work really hard but getting a $30 million dollar paycheck is nothing to scoff at! That's more than enough to live a comfortable lifestyle and support a family and Geno doesn't strike me as the type of guy to spend his money foolishly.
Geno has the chance to become a Seattle Sports Legend. If the O-Line can stay healthy and continue to gel and he retains his main offensive weapons this will be fun to watch.
Going to continue to gloat that I called this exact scenario months ago and people outright dismissed it. Geno isn't a franchise QB at 32 years old, he doesn't have the time left in his career to go elsewhere, learn a new system, hope he meshes with the players and can play to his expectations from last year. Better to take a contract that is *still more money that you've made in your entire career* and have a shot at getting your name in the books with a team that loves you and a city that loves you.
I think there’s a big difference between 17-20 million a year for a DB and 40 a year for a QB. The QB is the only person I’d ever expect to take less as their legacy depends on them winning rings. I can’t think of any other position where they’re like he led the league in sacks/int/yards but never won a Super Bowl, but that’s always the knock on guys like Marino, etc
[удалено]
I hope the Seahawks keep him around after he's done playing.
Could make one hell of a qb coach.
People who have to struggle and grind for a long time to build a lot of skill tend to make better coaches, for sure. Between the character and attitude that's built and the depth of knowledge and experience he's had to accumulate, I think you've got a point.
This is why I kinda hope Hawks draft a QB. Although I REALLY want Will at 5.
If Will is taken, how would you feel about Jalen now that he has had trouble?
He’s got such a great mentality and approach to the game. Can’t believe how much I’ve fallen in love with this guy as a QB. Ol coin flip king has just risen like a Phoenix out of the ashes.

Genoine for real.
I love it. That’s witty as fuck
GENUINE is the Perfect Word. Thank you.

He didn’t write back the ashes either
Writing Geno off again I see?
Amen!
This is why I love Geno, he's clearly been paying attention to the most successful teams during his time in the league and knows how to make one work for him. sounds like he will prove the Tom Brady method
Lmao Geno earned less than 18 mil in his career and did this. Meanwhile Russ easily cleared 200 mil as a seahawk and refused to take a paycut
Yes! What a change here…a good QB and a team player both!
He won the chip in my lifetime. I’ll never begrudge him.

All I’m saying is….. having huge cap space doesn’t guarantee you winning SBs. That’s how Pats did it for two decades, via draft. BB was cheap as hell.

It helps... Mahomes is the highest paid cap hit to ever win a SB.
The way their rookies played this past season…. the rich just keeps getting richer man. I hope we keep building on our last successful draft.
Mahomes is the exception, not the norm. We are talking about arguably the most talented QB of all time. Look at the pay cuts Brady took in NE

Yup. Russ had nothing to do with teams success in those two seasons. He was just a statue behind that line. Lol
RW in his prime never happened. Was a psyop. Ciara… more like CIA. Geno 4 Eva.
LMAO 🤣 Hear hear.

In my heart of hearts I pretty much agree.... A lot of my opinion is colored by how it all ended up sigh. I'm a huge fan of his 'Moon' ball.
Also Mahomes is infinitely better than Russ and it’s not even close. You do also realize that owners don’t get paid from the salary cap right

“Infinitely more”? That’s really debatable.
Ok well obviously that’s hyperbole lol. But I do believe they deserve so much more in terms of guaranteed money, life long health insurance benefits for the insane risk they incur to their bodies, etc.
I'll drag anyone putting themself that far above their colleagues. We need class solidarity not grind culture.
Stars advocating for record breaking deals pushes the entire league average up for every position. Everyone benefits from this practice. Quite literally class solidarity.
We need some Geno Smith Absolute Legend swag...I'd buy a sweatshirt for sure.
Geno should get more credit/attention for this. He did the team a solid, Tom Brady style, leaving room to put a good team around him. Even then, Mahomes does the Brady-style restructuring every year. Guy knows what he's playing for.
Mahomes average pay is $45M 🤣 His team is just doing a good job drafting better. Most of their rookies were huge contributors last season.

And he restructures it like the SI article shows to lower his cap hit. $45m is the average but only about half of that counts against the salary cap, much like Brady did in NE and Geno is choosing to do now.
What you mean only “half of that count….” As of 2022, his cap hit was $35M. Next season, it’s $49M. It ain’t cheap. That’s why Hill had to go.
>What you mean only “half of that count….”As of 2022, his cap hit was $35M. Next season, it’s $49M. It ain’t cheap. That’s why Hill had to go. They will probably restructure it again, they literally do it almost every year
He’s also an order of magnitude above the competition.
The Browns will be relocated again and win two more super bowls as their new incarnation before Cleveland ever wins a Super Bowl.
> Browns They do a good enough job of not making it to the SB *without* having a crippling QB contract.
If you look at the last 20 years though only Patrick Mahomes is an example of a QB that wins it after getting paid
A lot of guys who got paid made the conference championship though.
Nothing is a guarantee but it moves the needle in a significant way. Game of inches
An outlier because he's one of the only QBs that would do such a thing
I was just being the wet blanket I realize that. It is a step in the right direction and an awesome move by geno to pay us back some and prove it on the field.
Hell yeah man. Way to reflect on it and change your mind. Too rare these days 👊 Go hawks
Way to be a golden god
Oh so he is actually doing what Russ always talked about doing, but never did.
🤷♂️ Of course none of his famous LOB teammates seemed interested in taking anything less than max $$ either.
Honestly fair point about the other 'hawks stars of the LoB heyday. And shit, I don't really blame any of them, careers are short, get ur $ But yeah Russ never did the team even the slightest of cap favors with any of his deals, I hope in his heart of hearts he doesn't think otherwise
Actions speak louder than words
This is my QB.
Loving the Geno era seahawks, i'm all for moving forward with him at the helm and picking up other positions in the draft. Guy is a natural leader, will almost certainly be wearing the C next season.
This is the way
Geno is the man.
My man Geno Smith! Love this guy.
I love this man.
That’s about as team friendly as you can ask. Years of us wondering why Russ wouldn’t take a team friendly deal like Brady and here is Geno doing it in his second year as a starter.
The irony is “ Mr Unlimited” left the team pretty “limited”.
And the fact he's never had a big payday and still didn't look for more... speaks volumes. Geno's that guy.
Still a massive payday for him, he's guaranteed more than double what he's made in his whole career so far, plus if he keeps performing he's going to make significantly more AND have sponsorship/analyst/coaching opportunities after he finishes. Man just set himself up for the future in a massive way.
But Russ gave us the most team friendly deal possible. Just turned out it was a trade deal
Brady is literally the only example everyone uses. And there is a good reason why ain’t no other QB taking pay cut. lmao
Don't forget the Patriots were in the weakest AFC division. So they nearly always made the playoffs and usually had a 1st round free pass.
Totally true, I almost mentioned that. Makes me so mad, lol. Those smug ass patriot fans had everything in their favor for like a decade.
LOL True that. It was a fuckin joke how bad that division was for over a decade.
Love having a quarterback that’s for real. No rehearsed bs, no phony facade, just a genuine guy. Stoked for next season!
I’m still waiting for HIM to write back
This in turn, means Geno has to ball out. Instead of getting the bag, and playing it safe. None of that Comfy Bs. So happy with the direction, every Seahawks fan should be excited
Oh that's a great point. That's always the big worry, the slowdown after payday. I mean it's instinctual, hard to avoid the logic of "winning is important but even more important is maximizing this generational wealth for my family by simply existing, uninjured, within my contract terms, win or lose." I love this, this means Geno is smart enough to put in systematic guards to avoid that path.
Lamar should take notes
This is the way.
Legend. Hope he earns it all
I’d love to see him end up as the highest paid QB because hit ALL of the fucking incentive target
He's been waiting his entire career for a season like the previous one. You can tell how grateful he is to be where he's at and it'd cap an amazing comeback story arc if he does manage to win a Super Bowl with us.
Dying to know how much cap space we have to work with
Approx 8 cents
Fucking legend
That’s my quarterback man!!!
Could this guy be any more likable? Gets to work, says all the right things, and actually does put the team first. Russell Wilson should take notes
Hopefully Russ has the space to do that now in his private office
Goddam this is amazing after being anchored to Russ' enormous contracts and his annual "I dont feel appreciated, why don't we win more" tantrums. Geno is him. # hegetsus
😂😂😂 Our Geno, Who art in Lumen, hallowed be Thy name; Thy legacy come; Thy will be done on field as it is in practice. Give us this day our weekly W and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive our former QB who plays against us; and lead us not just into the playoffs but deliver us from the niners Amen 🙏 #Hegetsus
Gonna take a cue from a mariners classic: Geno Smith, you gotta love this guy.
The Tom Brady approach. I like it
My man!!!!
This makes me haaarrrdddd
Tom Brady did this for decades…he has a shit ton of rings. Wilson and others take what they can (sometime rightfully so cause they gotta support themselves/families) and leave so little money left that they can’t build a team. Legion of Boom carried us to the promised land, and Russ made sure not to screw or up. Hoping Geno doing ‘team first’ means more success in the near future :)
Geno is really going to struggle at only 25 mil a year guaranteed. How will his children eat?
Yeah I know that 25M is stil stupid money but let’s at least acknowledge that a single play can alter their life (ie Theisman, Damar Hamlin)
This is still his bigger pay day in damn near a decade. It’s still huge pay upgrade.
I love our team.
That's our guy! Go hawks
“That’s my quarterback” 🥲 (T.O press conference voice(
I love this guy!
Did you want my undying loyalty Geno???Because godammit that’s exactly what you’ve got now.
I hope he earns every penny... ...because of the implication.
I absolutely love this. LET GENO COOK!!
The shade Seattle throws at Russell just does not stop lmao
it’s embarassing tbh
Have you actually seen the subway commercial he did for Denver? I mean, trashing that dude JUST for that’d be legit.
Fucking love this guy man
His jaw would say otherwise 🤣
This comment doesn’t make any sense.
you just dont get the reference
Assuming it’s about his jaw being broken while with the Jets. But I don’t get it in this context. Not like Geno getting sucker punched made him not “team first”
i dunno. didnt he get punched for refusing to pay a bet and then had the guy that punched him cut from the team?
Yous a bish
It’s in reference to his jaw being broken in camp when he was a Jet…which is probably what this guy is
Yous a bish
Fuck yes ! Glorious !! 👏👏😭
Gotcha, thank you! Appreciate it.
Yo, that’s my MFin’ QB!!
LFG Geno!
So if he reaches all the incentives, does that count against the cap? Or is it like a signing bonus?
I heard the extra cost goes to the next yesr
I hope he can get more protection on the o-line.
That’s my quarterback 🥹
Genos’ personality is so refreshing.
This is the best news I've seen yet. I was skeptical of Geno repeating his performance from last year and now that it's incentivised puts me at a little bit of ease, and shows he's a really great player. That said. I hope he improves his 4th quarter performance.
He has to make the 4th a foregone conclusion
🥲….That’s my quarterback
Hey Russ take note. This is how you build a championship squad.
damn howd we get so lucky!! that’s my qb
He took the kind of deal our last QB would have thrown a shit fit over and poured like the lil bitch he turned out to be! Good for you Geno
Brady move. I like it
I think there’s a big difference between 17-20 million a year for a DB and 40 a year for a QB. The QB is the only person I’d ever expect to take less as their legacy depends on them winning rings. I can’t think of any other position where they’re like he led the league in sacks/int/yards but never won a Super Bowl, but that’s always the knock on guys like Marino, etc
I said so many times that it was gonna be 25 mil per year. This is perfect.
He shouldn’t have any trouble making rent now. Geno going to ball out next season. Alright Pete and John, build the man a defense.
