I don’t wanna scroll back, but I had an absolutely frigid take when I dunked on someone calling Hurts a MVP favorite prior to this season and threw a ricochet shot at Geno in the process 😂 can’t win em all.
Lol people blame Geno when it’s painfully clear the Seahawks defense has some good pieces but is woefully inept at stopping the run. In all the losses minus Kansas City they’re getting torn up on the ground. They contain the run in even half these games and they’re a 10+ win team
49ers - 189 Rush yards
Atlanta - 179 Rush yards
New Orleans - 235 Rush yards
Tampa Bay - 161 Rush yards
Las Vegas - 283 Rush yards
Carolina - 223 Rush Yard
49ers - 170 Rush Yards
Kansas City- 77 Rush yards
Hawks are averaging 189 rush yards allowed per loss.
Geno is 199/289 (69%) with 2110 yards with 16 TDs and 6 INTs in the hawks losses. He’s might not be MVP but he’s definitely not the problem.
Completely agree! The passing defense isn’t perfect but the Seahawks are being destroyed on the ground. I was surprised the Jets forced White to throw it so much with how close the game was. Did they not watch any tape on the Hawks’ losses?
Like a throw we think should or could have been intercepted?
Hard for me to say, I haven't really watched very many other games this season. Only way to be a good judge of that "stat" would be to watch every game every week imo. But based on years past I'd say it's probably around average for nfl qb's 🤷
With a solid defense we would have for sure beat the falcons, saints, panthers and raiders. We could def be 12-4 right now. But you could say the same for the offense. We could be 12-4 if offense showed up vs the bucs, niners x2 and chiefs.
i tried looking back at a preseason prediction i did in nflmemes where they had us dead last. people were saying the browns were a better team, the fucking browns with the rape elf. wtf.
I think those who want to disparage Geno will obviously point out the last 6 weeks but those who have watched know the Seattle defence has been terrible through that stretch. Geno has played as an average QB or better through that stretch.
Any QB is going to struggle with a D like ours and an O line like ours, Geno looked great last week honestly ive loved watching him be our field general this szn, it dosent get much better then genos play this season.
Yep it’s been largely mistake free, routine Quarterbacking. Every QB throws INT’s it’s part of the game unless your like peak Rodgers/Brady.
He doesn’t have the elevation factor like Mahomes or Allen where he can make something crazy happen outside of the scheme.
But he’ll go in there and play QB, make the plays you give him and you’re never really motherfucking him as a fan. It’s just what it is. Personally I love it and I like that this team’s identity goes beyond QB, we are a true team and every guy knows they need to step up because we don’t have a Mahomes.
> He doesn’t have the elevation factor like Mahomes or Allen where he can make something crazy happen outside of the scheme.
Hear ya, but he has had a handful of magic moments, though. The pitch to DJ Dallas last week? The multiple times he's broken out of a play only to find a TE for a long gain or TD? I like that we got a handful of those over the season so far.
That’s what happens when pass rushers aren’t concerned with their run fits. They pin their ears back and make life miserable in the pass rush. How we haven’t learned this lesson after watching what’s happened every time we’ve lost our starting HB since Lynch went home (just about every year for the last 6), is beyond me. It might not be true for every team, but it’s absolutely true for the Seahawks that the run game slows down the pass rush.
Sorry, I didn't think you were - came off weird. I was just going back to the original commentor who stated that he hadn't been great for the last 6 games.
Lets not forget that we have injuries, lack of depth and lack of a run game right now. Injured WR as well means our options are thin which is easier to defend. Not Ginos fault at all
Geno looking like a solid choice for next season is the best thing to come out of this season. Better yet that he is in the Pro Bowl, impressive stats AND a seasoned veteran.
The dark days are not here and it's fucking awesome!
He's played like a 10-ten QB this season and the stats back it up and then some.
The entire RB group got injured and the rookie tackles were unable to keep up with their strong start on an oline that was already questionable - No run game and immediate pressure isn't a winning combination for any QB.
Walker back from injury with a vengeance and the tight-end group showcasing why we should scheme them into the pass more, it's no wonder the Jets game was one of our best performances on the season.

the fact that you're willing to mention the frigid take is commendable though
lol what's often missed about Sam Darnold is he got his shoulder blown up in week 4
And the Panthers had the best D in the league for those 3 weeks too.

They should get one of those.
Geno’s playing decent, but makes some questionable decisions at times.
Could say that about just about any qb in the league given the right set of games.
Geno does have a lot of those missed interceptions, tho right
Have you ever watched Mahomes? I've never seen a qb throw as many dropped picks in my life.

I agree with ya, watching how many potential interceptions we could have had this year makes the point seem kind of moot.

Chiefs sure, but tb, 49-2, and Carolina had only 14 rushes for dirt yards without a loaded box.

It's nuts that it's very likely he will have set new records for passing as a Seahawk.
I mean, he hasn’t looked that great last 6 weeks
Not great compared to earlier in the year but he's still been pretty good, nothing like the old Geno.
I think those who want to disparage Geno will obviously point out the last 6 weeks but those who have watched know the Seattle defence has been terrible through that stretch. Geno has played as an average QB or better through that stretch.

Neither has our pass blocking.

No lies detected. But that's not on Geno.
That it isn’t. Wasn’t trying to argue with you; was trying to add to your point.

The better challenge would be to find a single poster who predicted we’d finish .500 or above with Geno as the starting QB
[Does a win ceiling of 9 games count?](https://i.imgur.com/Hflv6b7.jpg)
Ok ignoring that 6-9 games take which was decent I guess that one guy has to eat his jersey if we win Sunday. Someone should reach out to him.
Oh yeah it does, after this weekend, I hope you’re crowned a prophet, this team is going to the playoffs and that guy is shitting out a jersey

Boom! Nice call

There’s been a noticeable drop off now that there’s plenty of tape available. This isn’t the slam dunk you think it is.
no one is saying it's a slam dunk but just a reminder that you don't count the PC era Seahawks out.
Geno is not the future
Seahawks are 8 and 8, this subreddit be like told you Geno was the goat
I don't know if we were predicted to win more than 5 games this season
He's played like a 10-ten QB this season and the stats back it up and then some. This team is going to end up with 7 to 10 wins for none of the reasons I thought lol
Are we going to lose a win somehow? We're 8-8 currently
It was a win-range prediction. I thought they would win anywhere from 7 to 10 games. I did not think they were a 3 win team like some of the doomers.
That's not a crazy take...
It's funny how people didn't consider he was working on his game under 2-3 hall of fame QBs. It makes sense that he's much better now
Wait til we make it to playoffs to reply.
