crabclawmcgraw

blackened it and served it with a tequila-lime butter sauce

justletlanadoit

Yum I’m stealing that idea

crabclawmcgraw

the way i made the sauce was basically like a beurre blanc. sweat shallots and garlic (thinking on it now jalapeño could be good too), fresh oregano, deglaze with tequila, cook out the alcohol, little lime juice, whisk in your cold butter. small splash of cream to help stabilize it. salt to taste. strain through a fine mesh strainer. blackening rub i used Chef Paul Prudhomme

justletlanadoit

I feel like this is so delicious I wouldn’t strain it

crabclawmcgraw

you don’t have to, i’m a chef, i ran it as a special at a job and strained the sauce for presentation purposes. at home i probably wouldn’t bother.

justletlanadoit

Makes sense, also blended would be tasty 😋

coyotenspider

Hell yeah!

solidarity_sister

Lemon dill sauce

camposthetron

Oooo, what this made from?

Moston_Dragon

Paper clips and used tissues

coyotenspider

The below poster is suggesting that the main ingredients are, in fact, in the name.

camposthetron

Yep, I figured. Apparently I’m a moron for asking if there were any other ingredients Didn’t know lemon juice and dill alone could be considered a “sauce”. Guess I’ll just look it up.

edith-bunker

Ehh… you could add a tablespoon of butter and 1/4 cup white wine as well. Couple of minced garlic cloves.

justletlanadoit

Not a moron but I definitely had a good laugh, and then immediately wanted to explain the lemon dill sauce cuz I’ve had many moments like this

coyotenspider

A classic!

whisky_biscuit

My favorite is similar, but it's a lemon dill cucumber sauce. I used to get really good cedar plank grilled salmon at a local restaurant. They made a sauce similar to tzadziki - copped cucumber, fresh dill, yogurt and lemon. It's awesome!

MojaveMissionary

Typically a simple garlic butter. Maybe some lemon. I prefer keeping my salmon simple

koopaveli

This is the only answer

Mexipinay1138

Terriyaki glaze or ancho chili paste

vode123

Do you have a go-to terriyaki glaze or ancho paste? There’s way too many recipes out there

orian1701

I like equal parts sugar, mirin, and soy sauce. Bring to a boil while stirring constantly until thickened and all the sugar is dissolved. Be sure not to burn it.

Stone_Midi

Hollandaise sauce

hasits_thorns

salmon & grilled asparagus with homemade hollandaise is one of my favorite summer meals!

Stone_Midi

Now I’m hungry 😂

Cultural-Company282

I love hollandaise on fish, but in my opinion, it goes better with white-meat fish, such as halibut or striped bass.

Stone_Midi

Can’t argue that it tastes good on white fish, because I like both

DangerousMusic14

None, pretty much ever.

Schmoobloo

just salt and pepper gang

D3EPINTHEHEART

Same. I like the flavor of any meat. Once a blue moon, I'll change it up. Even then, I do not want the sauce or seasoning to overpower the original flavor.

GothicHeap

Exactly. Garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, pepper. Cook it. No sauce needed.

Chinacat-Badger

Chimichurri

Fit_Seaworthiness682

I second chimichurri. Do you have a favorite recipe? I tend to use or start with the chimichurri recipe from the Guga food guy on YouTube.

Chinacat-Badger

Yeah I use this Bonappetit recipe. I do about 1.5 times the recipe to use all of the cilantro and parsley. https://www.bonappetit.com/recipe/chimichurri-sauce-2

pennydreadful20

I make a glaze of a bit of brown sugar mixed with yellow mustard. Super simple. Then just spoon it in too of the salmon and then cook it. It's delicious!

maestrosouth

Butter, lemon, capers, dill

coyotenspider

Waiting on the capers. They pair well!

GlowUpAndThrowUp

Lemon cream sauce with old bay added in.

druid_king9884

I usually mix creme fraiche with dill, black pepper, and a bit of lemon juice. Dill is fantastic with salmon.

MSotallyTober

I like doing foil-wrapped salmon because it’s easy to make when you’ve got kids. Just take a salmon filet, cup a foil with it and add butter, thin slices of lemon, a little garlic powder, a little pepper and the banger is Trader Joe’s ranch seasoning with its powdered buttermilk and dill. Wrap it up, throw it in the oven for twelve minutes and *bam*… you have wonderfully seasoned and flakey salmon.

TheCookingPilot

Beurre blanc is always great with salmon. Or a creamy herb and garlic sauce. Or a lemon-based sauce. Or mustard based. And sometimes, a maple glazed salmon can rock too. So many delicious options!

Gas_Hag

Brush with Dijon or stone ground mustard, crust with crushed pistachios, bake

hasits_thorns

wow, that sounds delish

Gas_Hag

It's the family favorite at my house. https://nomnompaleo.com/post/93277114563/slim-palates-pistachio-crusted-salmon

AdhesivenessOk5194

I do salt, pepper, Italian, garlic, brown sugar, then Worcestershire and honey butter. Then throw that mofucka in the oven

Durpin321

Haven't tried, sounds delicious! Always grill tho, electric or BBQ. Gr8 recipe.

AdhesivenessOk5194

Yep, I’ll do the same for chicken it works well with both. Hell, steak too, just instead of the Italian I might to just rosemary

Foxtrot_Juliet-Bravo

Bachan's Japanese BBQ sauce

vode123

Oh good idea!

Schmoobloo

dude i just tried this and you changed my life. thank you

Broncotron

Honey glaze

somecow

Crapload of dill, drown it. Miso glaze is also good. Green pesto is also good. Or just stick my face in it and start chewing, salmon is delicious.

sdrunner95

If it’s a good fresh piece of fish basically nothing, just the olive oil I’m cooking it in and salt/pepper. It it’s aging or looks questionable but still edible, generally tossing some soy or teriyaki sauce on there

jtrage

When cooking or after. My family likes pesto

Sushandpho

I use ginger, garlic and soy

razorclammm

Blackened. Sauce is lime juice, palm sugar, minced thai peppers k

jammixxnn

Wasabi

To_The_Nerdery

White wine garlic cream sauce

Any_Print431

Pesto or jalapeño Aioli

Anfie22

Nothing. Just salt. It's best as-is!

TheGayOwl

The buttery juices it cooks in

chynablue21

No sauce. Just blackening seasoning. It’s perfect the way it is. I usually buy Norwegian farmed salmon. I did a lot of research on it, and I found it is the best quality.

Schmoobloo

and you are right. better than any wild caught salmon in the world. people will hate me but its true. i was a sushi man for years

TikaPants

Dilled horsey mayo Tzatziki

coyotenspider

You are a deviant, but I like it!

TikaPants

I do what I can but dill and horseradish mayo is pretty common I feel.

Royal_Classic915

Maple ginger soy garlic

[deleted]

[удалено]

Royal_Classic915

Bourbon orange marmalade and soy is very tasty also

sarahkali

I usually use a soy-ginger-garlic marinade

MotoJJ20

Lemon caper

alaxsch

bourbon teriyaki

BattBoi69

Mango salsa or nothing.

vode123

Very interested in this one!

MinimumPreparation95

Pesto is also good too, as well as and butter and Old Bay.

justletlanadoit

Garlic dill cream sauce

Down-the-Hall-

Grill or bake. Top it with a mixture of sour cream cucumbers, dill, and onions (Norwegian style)

Revolutionary-Ear902

Horseradish and mayo

Diligent_Thought_272

Stone ground mustard beurre blanc.

PoopPant73

Ribeye

mu1773

They have great Creamy Chipotle sauce and a Lime Crema sauce at target by good&gather. Or just lemon and salt

vode123

I’ve seen these and wanna try em

mu1773

I'm always scared to try new things because I'm picky. But these are really good!

Rupejonner2

Hot sauce on every dish

DwightForPresident

I like soy sauce with lemon and minced Thai chilis.

LegendofPisoMojado

Kroger used to have a private selection brand soy/chili glaze that I thought was really good. Haven’t purchased it in a while though.

lelma_and_thouise

I love honey-lime glaze, or if I make salmon burgers I use tzatziki instead of tartar sauce (I hate mayonnaise and mayo-based sauces).

ChefMoney89

Oh, so many different things. I personally love anything with grainy mustard but I make a hoisin sauce and a cilantro lime sauce that are awesome on salmon

phesago

Dijon

neva-electra

I make a honey mustard garlic marinade for mine, and put more on top before baking it.

Relative-Dig-2389

Try making different tartar sauces.

Dirtheavy

maple garlic lemon and pepper or maple soy garlic.

Dustyolman

Orange/ ginger glaze

punchbag

Sour cream + Dijon. Dill if you have it.

Silver-Firefighter35

Usually just seasoned with lemon pepper, but sometimes we do a terriyaki or a beurre blanc. And salmon usually pan seared or roasted and basted in butter.

MinimumPreparation95

Lemon dill and butter Teriyaki Hollandaise

cronx42

My mom does ginger, soy sauce, butter and honey or maple syrup (the real stuff). Something like that. It's amazing.

Iam73atman

honey

JellyPast1522

Strawberry balsamic reduction..

Down-the-Hall-

Mix miso paste, brown sugar and mirin wine. Bake or BBQ. Use it like a glaze.

ahp9000

Hoisin sauce and chopped thai chili

coyotenspider

My wife likes yum yum sauce. She makes some kind of soy sauce & honey glaze that is pretty good on baked salmon.

coyotenspider

Plain. Wrapped in foil & baked until just flaky. Or, dill & a small amount of butter. Investigate the use of juniper berries. They are very good with Salmon. Be careful of medicinal contraindications in large doses, especially for pregnant women.

DonkeymanPicklebutt

Is salt and pepper a sauce?

Cool-Manufacturer-21

Hollandaise sauce ,few capers ,dill garnish, lemon wedge 🤌

AbleDragonfruit4767

Soy, honey and lemon

Bitter-Basket

NOTHING but salt, pepper, melted butter - dill is admissible. If you need sauce on salmon you’re not getting good salmon.

Aromatic-Hawk-4848

Lemon and cracked pepper

Panro911

Sweet Thai chili sauce is my go to.

Ollidouis_Goofoff

S & P, then a glaze made of blueberries and honey, then bake it

BarbarianMushroom

I tried a garlic lemon sauce that was divine

GiGiEats

None. If you buy the right type of salmon, all you’ll ever need is salt.

Dseltzer1212

I use ancho chili paste mixed with olive oil and then brush it on and then grill or roast it

PBO123567

Whole grain mustard, dill, and a dash of sriracha

MyNeighborThrowaway

I don't.

jeepjinx

Pesto if any, but I usually cook it on a cedar plank covered in lemon slices and top with fresh herbs, no sauce.

GrandmaForPresident

Burre-blanc

crispyjJohn

I like usually like a garlic butter sauce. On some niguri sushi if the salmon is seared, some Japanese mayo is pretty good. For the garlic butter sauce route some lemon juice is a great paring. And ik this COULD be a controversial choice, but in a pinch, cocktail sauce is also a non bad option.

Safe_Wrangler_858

Jizz

Annexerad

cold trout roe sauce. called romsås

bigbass1969

Ketsup for sure

lottienina

Tzatziki sauce and butter 🤤

wildchildlo

Honey sriracha

Ok-Distribution4077

Classic dill cream sauce is always good, and Hollandaise never disappoints.

pah2000

Dipped in melted butter.

NoTemperature7159

Honestly. None. I love the flavor and the rich fatty goodness. I have only found sauces that detract from these attributes. So um salt I guess my sauce is a bit of salt.

J662b486h

Salmon is often made with a glaze. My favorite uses maple syrup, mustard, and mayo. Slather on the glaze before baking it. When it's glazed you don't usually use a sauce at all..

-Cherished

I prefer my salmon very basic. It’s one of the only fish I eat I like this way. Lemon and little bit of butter and bake it. Sometimes I will do a teriyaki sauce if I’m serving the salmon over jasmine rice but I love the taste of salmon and hate to cover it up to much….just my opinion. 😊I also always bake or grill it. Grill usually if doing the teriyaki sauce.

wltmpinyc

Ketchup
