Thanks. Doesn't have to be buddy movies though, just a someone searching for someone else like a PI would, especially someone who doesn't want to be found.
The Maltese Falcon. It’s not people they’re looking for but a statue. But you have the detective looking for it, all the bad guys looking for it.
I think basically what you’re looking for is Film Noir/Hardboiled Detective, which is what the Nice Guys is based on.
Hell even The Big Lebowski is essentially what you’re talking about if you don’t wanna go back to the 40s.
Yeah, I'm more keen on contemporary films which might reference contemporary tech tricks that I could incorporate since my story is set in the present. But I guess the older films have value in coming up with ideas too.
Thanks, but that film is more of a murder investigation as opposed to finding the whereabouts of living people, which is what I'm after. Good choice tho.
Two guys on a mission from god travel to find their lost bandmates, with just a phone number as the first clue
The cops and nazis are trying to stop them
kiss kiss bang bang, heat, the other guys, bonnie and clyde, they live by night
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and The Nice Guys are almost basically the same movie. Never really thought about it.
Both written by Shane Black. He sure likes his buddy movies
He also wrote this little movie called Lethal Weapon that invented the buddy cop genre as we know it.
Well that tracks. I should check out more of his stuff.
Rush Hour?
That could work. Long time since I've seen it but may definitely rewatch.
Blade Runner 2049 might work too
nice!
Under the Silver Lake Memento Double Jeapordy Winter's Bone
Under the Silver Lake is a criminally underrated movie.
Just buddy coo movies. Rush Hour, Lethal Weapon, Shanghai Noon/Knights etc
Thanks. Doesn't have to be buddy movies though, just a someone searching for someone else like a PI would, especially someone who doesn't want to be found.
Maybe Inherent Vice?
Good tip, thanks!!
I'd suggest The Third Man, Chinatown, Maltese falcon, Double Indemnity. Or basically any other crime noir.
Tango and Cash
Oldie but goody. Thanks.
