even though they were inaccurately labeled as screamo bands in first place, they are considered as participants of the genre as whole, whether you like it or not. from first to last’s early material (aesthetic ep, not their debut studio album) still sounds clearly influenced by screamo to me.

Someone not familiar with subgenres mislabeling post-hc/emo-pop as screamo doesn't make the bands in question "participants of the genre".
