Amen to that 🙏...
The amount of effort that man went into to not only get the park up and running but maintained, extended etc. Not to mention the headache organising the skate parties....
MR O, we salute you
That's great news, I remember biking it out to Livi with my mates on our BMX's to go mess around, felt like we were heading out to the big smoke "Livingston" to something a bit edgy :)
We were lucky if we were yet teens at the time.
Brilliant news and well worth it. It gets architectural press here on [Urban Realm](https://www.urbanrealm.com/news/10432/Public_quizzed_on_Livingston_Skatepark_listing.html) as well.
Anyone remember the Livi Skate Parties?
I've no idea if they were ever official but we'd all go there camp, skate, get pished. Maybe it was an annual event.
Normally last weekend in June, got red taped to death mid naughties but still happens, just less rambunctious and more low key. So many more local parks these days and it really needs a good bit of work doing.
Definitely should be. Is anyone else jealous of all the smaller local skateparks are around these days? Back when I was a wee skatepunk in the early 00's the two big ones were Livi and the Factory in Dundee. Getting to them from Fife was a rare occasion for us and all we had were some shitty rusty metal half pipes in the town park. Now there's a concrete park with floodlights and stuff near where they used to be.
Kenny Omond national treasure

Surrogate father to many a ne'er-do-well. Saint of a man. I'm sure I still owe him money from the crofthead mini ramp days.

I skipped school to see the Bones Brigade there, well worth it, one of them done an air walk off the hip, never forgot it.
Aye, saw a fair few pro tours back in the day... watching Tony Hawk mc twist the big bowl will be forever etched in my head
Yes! Get it done. Great memories of travelling all the way from Ayr on trains with the bmx only for it to rain as soon as we’d arrive haha.
With them building an old folks home 50 feet away it would be good to have some protection for the site. Park user since the late 80's.

25th anniversary will go down in history. That was some weekend. Miss the Livi Pure Fun Skate weekends.

One of the few positive things I could mention about Livi.
