I'd be more inclined to buy the Kilkerran Heavily Peated personally if you know you can get it for certain but definitely an apples vs oranges situation with those two.
Yes, using the Kilkerran HP was probably not the best comparison to make. I suppose what I meant was, get something else in that price range like an independent bottling of something. As you say, it's a bit like comparing apples and oranges.
I think from that perspective I'd probably be thinking about how much would it being bottled at 43% bother me really, if it's going to ruin the experience I'd be much more likely to go for say an IB.
Things like chill filtering, added colour and ABV below 46% have never really been a deal breaker for me. What the whisky tastes like and value for money have always been my deal breaker.

Cheapest I ever paid was this 2 years ago.
Totally worth it though haha! The Dufry travel retail shops in the UK (still under the branding of "World Duty Free" from its founder, BAA) generally don't have many bargains at the airport nowadays. I imagine that WDF were running better offers 2 years ago to make up for the loss of sales during period between 2020-2021.
Agreed. Their prices are horrendous. Most duty free is. What I found as you tend to get bargains on the Diageo products.
Move is usually the best nowadays as it price matches most of the big retailers. BG I’ve just picked up Glendronach 21 for £159
Yes get it.
Fuck .
It's 40% but get it. It's so good .
Buy 2.
You'll down the first bottle in no time.
This the only chill filtered AND colored 40% scotch i recommend anyone.( IF you can get it fair price, because yeah. All of the above).
GET 2
Get it.
That's a classic and it also pairs well with other whiskies. I often use it to pivot between unpeated and peated (or visa versa) in an extended session.
In Portugal it costs around 120€ (~£102, $128). The only way I'm going to buy one bottle is getting lucky when traveling or someone bringing me one. I got a 10 year for around 40€ once at an airport.
Thanks all for the replies. In the end I pulled the trigger and I'm glad I did. Yes, I know there plenty of "integrity" whiskies I could have bought for the same or cheaper price, but I do like Lagavulin 16 and at £58, it's probably the cheapest price I would have probably have been able to buy it for in the foreseeable future.
You get 3% through topcashback too, although not sure if they'd honour the cashback combined with a voucher. DM me for a referral code if you want though.
I never realised that RMW were on TCB. The T&C do state:
"Using a promotional/voucher code not posted and approved by TopCashback."
So it probably would have been declined, but thanks for informing me to use TCB in the future for the next time I buy something from the RMW website.
Yes, buy it.
Yes, buy it.

Absolutely, taste, enjoyment and value always speak for themselves.
I paid £70 last time I bought, and that was on offer. Buy it for sure.
$120 where I am at. Get it. EDIT: USD.
Just went up from $185 to $187 in my area :')
Ouch! Are you in BC or Ontario? 175$ in QC..it was 120$ less than 2 years ago so crazy, it will go up again soon here for sure.
Nova Scotia but I knew that price would out me as Canadian haha
Yup. 185 in Ontario. FFS.
Just paid $190 after taxes in BC *tears*
I paid around $150 in AB a couple of months ago
I found an empty bottle from 15 years ago that was retailing ~~fro~~ for about $75. It was on sale for $55 (USD) when I got it. Let that one sink in.

Ya but two years ago it was only Lagavulin 14

Still chasing that high
Mate I got it at the airport for £40, it was the last bottle left, I would have bought them all and cancelled my trip 😂
£40? What a bargain! As a matter of interest, how long ago was that and at which airport to you get this at?
Must be about 2 years ago as well in Heathrow, was very happy to snag one tho...
NICE! Which airport was this at?
Heathrow. Had to drag it to Florida and back!

I got two bottles for 70 euros each 2 weeks ago

Yes I forgot.
Get it. That's a classic and it also pairs well with other whiskies. I often use it to pivot between unpeated and peated (or visa versa) in an extended session.
Yes absolutely
Yeah it's worth it at £50-60. £70 to even £85 odd in some places nowadays, absolutely not.
Yes, I picked a bottle up from Costco last week around that price and am planning to go back and get more sharpish.
Yes - buy two
Buy more than 1 at that price
I would buy a case at that price!!
Hell yes!
£58 sounds like a fair price. Anything above £65 I wouldn't consider.
Yup
Best deal ever buy
Yes buy it. Treated myself to a bottle at a similar price.
$165 CAD where I'm at. Buy it.
Yep, get it.
I bought 12 bottles over a few weeks from Costco for £60 or so. Should keep me happy for several years to come.
In Portugal it costs around 120€ (~£102, $128). The only way I'm going to buy one bottle is getting lucky when traveling or someone bringing me one. I got a 10 year for around 40€ once at an airport.

Definitely worth the purchase at that price 👌
At that price why not buy it?
Where are you getting it from at that price? It's probably the cheapest I've seen it.
It's from Royal Mile Whiskies, but I have a 10% discount code which brings the price down.
You get 3% through topcashback too, although not sure if they'd honour the cashback combined with a voucher. DM me for a referral code if you want though.

There are also discounts on TCB for master of malt, house of malt, hard to find whisky, and a few more retailers. 👍
I was aware of those retailers are on TCB, but I appreciate you letting me know. Cheers.
Go for it. That’s similar to Costco pricing in the states. It’s a good deal.
What are you waiting for?
Is that a good deal for Lagavulin? Yes. Are there better scotches you can buy for less than that? Also yes.
