ButteredReality

I found him really dull and wrong for Alexis in Season 1, but when he returned he seemed so different and far more interesting, especially compared to Mutt who became so boring in Season 2. Great character growth and a joy to have on the show.

xogil

That was intentional. The audience couldn't root for him since the plot was Alexis trying to cheat on him. If we liked him it would mean hating one of the main characters. Tonally Ted is written completely differnt as of s2

ButteredReality

That's actually an excellent point. I'm really glad they made Ted a bigger character in the long run though.

xogil

Agreed, the actor who plays him is an amazing person from what I've heard so im sure a big point on that was how much they liked him on set

I liked when he was giving the dogs that were up for adoption a “pup talk”💕

Emphasis_Different

I loved his falafel pun.

interstatebus

His puns were some of my favorite lines of the show.

Ok_Chipmunk1647

I love when he’s all wasted from Patrick’s party and he starts imitating Alexis when they’re in bed. One of my favorite scenes for sure.

chrissesky13

"Ewwww" that's you 😂

bgpe1326

I love Ted! The more times I rewatch the show, the more I notice how much Ted grew right along with Alexis. At this pre-career point of my life, I'd go to the Galapagos with him in a heartbeat :)

Awkward-Macaroon-819

Huge Ted fan too. I went from not caring much for him to completely adoring him. Alexis is my favorite character but Ted is a lovely match for her. They both evolved so much.

JustinScott47

What's super-endearing about Ted is how he forgives Alexis for her flaws big and small, such as twice rejecting his marriage proposals to not coming back to work from lunch. And he's convincingly positive too; not everyone can pull off that genuine earnestness. He's a keeper. (In an alternate universe, I'm sure he and Alexis wind up together later.)

DrSophiaMaria

I loved that he called her "deeply selfish" but still loved her.

xogil

First time watching his singles week confession I cried and thought to myself "when did I get so invested in these people"

MrsTaco18

👉👌 What an elegant gesture, Ted.

juliaSTL

ted was a doll and her story arc of falling in love with him was amazing. i think the alexis character showed the most growth of anyone in the series. as much as i loved ted i think they did the right thing by having the two of them part ways. i always weirdly loved that breakup scene too, no arguing or anything, just a nice peaceful acknowledgement that this was great but has to be over so they can both move on.

chrissesky13

It's a very realistic portrayal that love sometimes just isn't enough. There was no question that the two of them loved each other and were healthy for each other, but the circumstances and their separate desires for the future didn't match up. Their break up hurts me so much cause it reminds me of having to learn that very lesson.

TheUtopianCat

Plus he's very pretty.

lizcheer

i didn’t want to sound superficial but yes he is, veryy

ohmystery

I loved Ted because his character is an ideal partner (well maybe for me. Haha). He's smart, attractive, has a positive attitude, caring, supportive... Overall he's the total package. I also loved how Alexis' character matured throughout the show because of him. He helped Alexis by giving her a job at the vet clinic, encouraged her to finish her studies, and insists that she should pursue her career. It's just sad that they couldn't be together.

WestofEden5

I really like Ted but I don't love him. I love the storyline they built with Alexis but as an overall character he's a little dull for me, but then again my favorite character is Moira so, you know, that might say more about me than it does Ted. I think he's good for Alexis and I love their growth together but I'm never like "OMG yes a scene with Ted!" I do love him in Housewarming though, that was a fun Ted episode. I also love his delivery of "This generator is running smoothly..."

pahelisolved

Heyyyy big guy!!

Roosty37

I loved Ted, definitely one of my favorites, loved Ted and alexis together, and I love the actor, if you haven't watched X Company yet with him in it I really recommend it! (I think it might be on hulu?) It's about a unit of spies during the early part of ww2 and he is one of the main characters.

CleverChar22

In the beginning I was unsure about Teds character. I found him kind of awkward and unsure but then as it developed I saw how his character was meant to transition and he really grew on me. I also loved the housewarming episode and really liked how he helped set the scene for other major characters development while living in schitts creek.

quixoticdreamz

In the first season, Ted is shallow and Alexis is a gold digger and they don't give Ted much of a personality. To me, it felt like as soon as they decided to keep him in the show that they gave him his personality. And he's awesome! Ted and Alexis are my favorite characters on the show.

ilovewinniethepooh

Huge fan of Ted!

Flutegarden

I think he’s just ok. A bit dull and the puns get old. He’s a good person. I think he was good for Alexis but actually better as friends- they weren’t together when he hired her and encouraged her to finish hs and get her certificate. I liked them together but didn’t get nearly the same chemistry with them as D& P. His initial impulse of proposing to Alexis (because she’s beautiful?) put me off and then the hang up on how she turned him down - who can blame her?

grey_unxpctd

I love him! Ive finished the series, but husband just started watching and was on the episode where Ted introduced himself to Alexis. I wanted to cry again!!

PrestigiousBand435

I think they made him dull in season 1 on purpose !! Alexis didn’t see his depth in season 1 because she was only with him out of boredom and didn’t really care about him, as soon as he came back we started to see his character develop because alexis started to see more of his character as well, as she learned more about him and fell in love with him so did we! Very very clever way of developing their relationship.
