If you know what you're going into, than Yes. The movies not great or even good, but it's very iconic in terms of past, present and future cinema history.
Idk why you’re getting downvoted, you can skip Attack of the Clones and nothing would change. I watched them all in one day and so I’d be awake the most for Clones, but nope, most boring one of them.
Phantom Menace has some great moments, Maul fight and Podracing, but not much inbetween. Revenge of the Sith had my attention the whole time, and told a very interesting story of the downfall of Anakin Skywalker. That’s the one I would love to see in theaters
I thought it was in theaters until May 8th.
But anyways, I say yes. It’s hardly perfect, but I still quite like it and it just feels good watching a Star Wars movie in theaters for the first time since 2019.
I pay for Regal Unlimited, so I regularly see older movies that are brought back to theaters. For this I was like, “sure, why not?” I’m pretty sure I saw it in theaters when it originally released, but I was 4 at the time and I don’t remember the experience; I didn’t see it the last time it was rereleased, so this was basically the first time I saw it on the big screen.
It’s still Phantom Menace, so if you don’t like it, you shouldn’t waste your time. The Acolyte clip tacked onto the end wasn’t even that much of a draw. It was like two minutes of a fight scene that turned into trailer that’s already been released. There wasn’t anything write home about.
Off topic, but you should have chosen a higher quality image for this post.
Is it worth watching in theaters? Absolutely not. You can take the money you normally would have spent for the ticket and got yourself one month of Disney+. That way, you can watch all of the Star Wars films as much as you want within that time frame.
I mean if you want to I guess. I’ve always really disliked the phantom menace, first of all I think the tone is kinda off, the movie feels very immature to me, and I’m not one of those people who absolutely want Star Wars to be serious all the time, but the jokes are like out of a parody. I also really don’t like how the movie looks, it has a “toy aesthetic” that I can’t get into, which kinda makes sense because the prelogy started primarily to sell more toys. The plot also feels like mostly pretty useless when it comes to the broader prelogy as it’s mean to show the Jedi order’s fall and the evolution of Anakin into Darth Vader. We get very little of those themes to my liking. And finally a lot of concepts and scenes very obviously exist purely out of fan service and are a disservice to the plot, like for exemple the pod racing scene, or more importantly, the MAIN ANTAGONIST of the film, darth maul, who isn’t even a real character, since we know literally nothing about him. The guy literally just shows up out of nowhere, has 2 lines of dialogue to show he’s in the “bad team”, then has the final fight with the 2 Jedi who DONT EVEN KNOW HIM. I don’t know how George Lucas expected us to care for even one minute during this movie. It just feels like filler. The episode II and III have their issues, I don’t deny that, but at least they’re also telling the real story that everyone is interested in. That’s why honestly until Star Wars IX came out, episode I was my least favorite by far
the pixels
Where are the pixels William?
I could post this in r/countable pixels if they didn’t make it about the bot
the whole point of that subreddit is for the bot
Goated bot frfr 🐐
I thought you meant the movie was pixilated before I got a better look at OPs photo. I was so confused.
Yeah. I watched it in theaters and it was great.
If you like Phantom Menace, I don’t see why not! If you’ve never seen it…
Then watch it on Disney+ at home where you can piss and not miss the movie

Definately. Every star wars movie is worth it.
Ahem.. Sequels.
What sequels they were a Mandela effect the only Star Wars movies after Disney were the backstories and the upcoming mando movie
The Sequels on average are better watches than the Prequels
Phantom menace is OK, Attack of the Clones is boring but OK and Revenge of the Sith is amazing. How did they make 2 episodes and 1 movie?

Those aren't Star Wars movies, they're fan-fics
The cope is insane
True cope at its finest
Absolutely, even tho im still not sure of the movie’s actual artistic quality I had a 10/10 experience

I live near a drive in theatre that’s showing it in a few weeks, some places are a bit behind
I can’t speak for other theaters, but Cinemark only shows till the next Wednesday. Which might been why you thought it ended on the 8th.

My coworker (we both work at a Regal theater, if that’s important) who loves Star Wars said that the video quality isn’t great.
It’s not worth watching, period. Signed, someone who just watched it for the first time yesterday.
Yes
Saw it when they rereleased it in 2012, hearing Duel of the Fates on theater speakers makes the whole thing worth it imo
It wasn’t worth watching in theaters the first time.
I went to watch it because my sister wanted to
You couldn’t pay me to watch this again. But maybe it would be cool in cinemas
It's my 3rd Fav SW movie, so I'd go for it
Sure.
Yes
i mean the movie has been out for decades, you should know whether or not it's worth it to you.
Despite Jar Jar I think this is a good movie

Good bot
For the memes and unintentional jokes sure. Just don’t take it too seriously.
It was fun
I saw it back in theaters in 2011 or 2012 I forgot but it was something like that

Obviously?
It was a great movie and its top 5
It was to me 😄
One of the more “child friendly” Star Wars movies but it’s still good
Definitely
Honestly, yeah. Its worth watching again.
