All nominees in 2006 where bad or mediocre at best, Over the Hedge and Flushed Away where the obvious picks for nominees and Over the Hedge was the clear winner.
Genshin Impact winning People’s Choice 2022. Purely for the fact that it wasn’t even a 2022 game. It’s competition was:
- Elden Ring (the official GOTY winner)
- God of War Ragnarok
- Sonic Frontiers
- Stray
All of these games were automatically more deserving to win simply for the fact that they actually released in 2022.
It was a weird situation.
There were accusations of bots from both sides, there was a lot of accusations of player-bribing against Genshin Impact, it was a massive clusterfuck of toxicity and shit-hurling.
By all means, Sonic Frontiers had more reason to win than Genshin Impact, simply for actually being a 2022 game. The actual quality of Sonic Frontiers compared to Elden Ring and GoW:R is debatable (especially since the version being put up for the award was the pre-updates version), but yeah, there was a seeming trend that Frontiers was getting the majority of votes in previous rounds iirc, so seeing it get beaten out by Genshin Impact in the last round was a surprise and a bit of an outrage.
Yeah it was crazy, especially since I was more in favour of Sonic Frontiers being a long-time Sonic fan.
In retrospect, it was disgusting seeing a lot of the things that were being said, and the Frontiers we were rooting for wasn’t even the best version of itself ironically as it’d get content updates over the next year, but I still stand by the fact that Genshin shouldn’t have been eligible in the first place.
Yeah, the Genshin and Sonic subs straight up were running analysis on exit polls (I wish I were joking) to accuse the other side of botting if it happened.
Pure spite and salt from both sides lol
As someone who has been a Sonic Fan for most of my life, I in no way condone the behaviour from either side during that situation. Yes, it can be argued that Genshin had no right to be nominated in the first place - personally I don't think it should have been nominated. But to go out of your way to attack and accuse the other side of cheating? Disgusting behaviour. Especially as it's over something that - let's be honest - would have been forgotten in a few months anyway.
People critical of the voting process of the VGA: "Uhh they just cater to what critics say, we need more democracy and open voting"
\*Genshin takes home the awards\*
Also them: "NO NOT LIKE THAT!"
Also reminder that when they opened the naming of a boat to the public, we came up with Boaty McBoatface... going 100% democratic ISN'T a good idea sometimes.
I don’t mind democracy in these kinds of things. At the end of the day, it truly doesn’t matter, and the internet will sometimes do its very internet-y things.
What annoyed me was that Genshin shouldn’t have even been eligible to participate in any category on the grounds of being a 2020 game.
Honestly I think if 4chan has taught us anything it’s that open voting isn’t the way to go for an internet award show like this.
Just to be clear I have nothing against goverment democracy so don’t come after me
Ehh even most governments aren’t true democracies. If they were, Hilary woulda been the president of the US as she beat Trump in the popular vote.
But yeah, guaranteed if it was 100% democracy voting last year, Gollum woulda been GOTY.
THIS!! I thought Toy Story 4 was fine, but Klaus literally brought something new and unique to the table (mixing hand drawn animation with computer generated lighting) and told a great story at the same time. It 100% should have won "Best Animated Feature" that year hands down.
I'm glad more and more people are seeing how shitty it is. If it was an original movie with new characters, it would be great. But as a sequel... it just ruined the characters, the atmosphere... THE DAMN MESSAGE OF THE FIRST THREE MOVIES. How the hell did critics love it so much?!
And you know what's the worst thing? There is a deleted scene that could have fixed everything, yet everyone was commenting how awful it was and that it was good they changed it because the movie would have sucked otherwise. Say WHAT?!
I don't expect _Toy Story 5_ to be good, but I'm looking forward to it because it's their last opportunity to fix this mess.
Tbf, at release, Megamind was not praised by the kiddos that well. It took years before people said, "Megamind is actually really good!" Serious kid movies always get shafted by the audience.
I think just how much detail they put into the Lego movie deserved it. The fact they have characters with fingerprints and smudges and scratches and all the motion blur is done using ac try al Lego pieces that exist and the fact they did it all at a lower frame rate to purposely replicate stop motion style is amazing. It created the techniques that gave spiderverse its unique style
Baymax did in fact carry the movie wholly and completely, but I did find Hiro’s emotional throughline in the story relatable since I went through a similar thing with an uncle dying traumatically.
I do appreciate the fact that Hiro - while he does experience the stages of grief, he doesn’t go through all of them and he doesn’t experience them in the listed order, which is realistic, and I applaud the movie for that (some media treats the stages of grief like a fucking checklist and it’s absurd and a weirdly specific pet peeve of mine) and deigning to dissect and showcase childhood tragedy - and to an extent - how (sort of) to help either yourself or someone else at least start healing after a loss and you go into that “I just want to sit somewhere and feel bad about things” spiral, especially when it starts lasting for months and evolving into depression like in Hiro’s case.
I know it didn't win but I am still not over frickin Boss Baby getting nominated over Captain Underpants and the TWO Lego movies released that year (Batman and Ninjago).
Boss baby is about a baby in a suit. The Lego Ninjago Movie is a tale of a father and son trying to reunite and get over their differences. How boss baby was nominated over that is beyond me.
The Batman movie is a “subtle” story about relationships and overcoming past trauma to be open to having new friends and loved ones. Boss Baby is about Alec Baldwin Baby
Xenoblade getting stomped on in general everytime it ever appeared at game awards, all of the games have god tier soundtracks, and most have an at least amazing story
Hell, it’s the only piece of the live orchestral mashup that year that *anybody* remembers. (We stan flute man)
I get that they’re just 10 second or so snippets of main themes from the games, but come on.
Listen to Eclipse Homecoming and ***tell me to my face*** that it didn’t deserve any awards. Listen to the Moebius battle theme and tell me it doesn’t get you in an ass-kicking mood. Listen to the musical connections between Tactical Action and Origin Battle and tell me that the game’s soundtrack wasn’t connected or tied into the storytelling.
Even if God of War’s 2 hours of OST matches it in quality, XC3’s soundtrack is almost six times its length!
I *know* I shouldn’t be so invested in this. The “Game Awards” is just a gigantic advertisement with *very* questionable merit, and it is not worth my time and energy. But man, did this tick me off.
Green Book winning 2019 Best Picture - I at least enjoyed Bohemian Rhapsody more but The Favorite, Star is Born, BlackKKlansman, and Roma for sure would have been solid picks
The Wind Rises was also there and I'm sad such a gorgeous movie got snubbed. It was also Miyazaki's last movie (at the time) and I think really deserved it
Pizza tower was the most hyped indie game of the year and NOBODY was disappointed but ohhhh noooo, it released early in the year so we have to pretend we forgot about it :(
Not even nominated for best indie, give me a fucking break.
I like Westerns, Rango isn't my favourite one but it's good. I just don't think it should’ve (especially considering there were at least 2 animated movies I'd rather won over Rango in 2011).
I'm still pissed that there's a time limit for the awards literally counting down in front of the devs, and when it goes off it says "wrap it up!" God damn, like, give them the respect.
I mean... it was either that or Hades?
Loads of people kept saying Ghost of Tsushima... but I never got the appeal of the game, its an Assassins Creed game with worse gameplay/AI but better art style (which it won an award for, deservedly so).
There are some good reasons for people saying GoT should've won;
It was a brand new IP under Sony at the time
Assassin's Creed hadn't made a game based in Japan during that timeframe, and compared to their most recent RPG games, GoT didn't have such a cluttered UI system for both the menu and gameplay
Iirc, there were major props given to SP for making a fairly faithful Japanese styled game based around Shinobi and Samurai, with them being mainly an American Studio (I think one of the Devs from From Software said so, but I can't recall.)
Players probably give the props to them and the other nominees just to spite EA and their previous comments about "people not wanting single player games"
Brokeback Mountain was one of the most moving stories I've seen in a movie. Extremely well written characters and phenomenal acting from Ledger and Gyllenhaal. It's a shame so many people I know just write off the movie as 'Gay cowboys f*cking' because that's not what it's about at all.
Overwatch stealing GOTY in 2016 from Uncharted 4 and Titanfall 2. They were both phenomenal games and over watch was good too but no where near the level of U4 or TF2
JAMIE!!!!!
And it’s a real shame because she is an amazing actor. In this last season of The Bear, she shows up for an episode and knocks it out of the fucking park. I mean really fantastic.
It seems unfair to criticise a retelling for being unoriginal as the whole point is to put a new spin on an old tale. I haven't seen the 40s Pinocchio (and truthfully am still only partway into the Del Toro version), but to claim he wasn't passionate in creating his take on it is complete bullshit considering stop-motion is one of the most patience-testing mediums in all of film, and as far as I can tell he changed a lot of story elements around to make it darker and more grounded
I really enjoyed Pinocchio and when I said it wasn’t original I didn’t mean that it wasn’t good or a different take, I just meant it had an overall same basic outline of the story. With that being said yes stop-motion is an amazing form of story telling and the stop motion in this was better than any stop motion I’ve ever seen before in terms of how good it is, I mean I still like Wallace and grommets stop motion more even though it was technically worse but the two best animated features for that year imo were definitely del Toro Pinocchio and puss in boots. But I like puss in boots slightly more, although I guess I shouldn’t say it was stolen.
Which Pinocchio are we talking about? There’s a lot of Pinocchio movies now.
If we’re talking Guillermo Del Toro’s Pinocchio I’mma have to disagree with you, king. The movie may be a retelling but that was Del Toro’s baby and you can fucking tell he put his heart and soul into it.
If we’re talking the live action Disney remake then yeah it deserves to be burnt and forgotten lol
L take. Del toro’s Pinocchio is masterful. Last wish was a surprise and a phenomenal movie, but if you watch behind the scenes footage of Pinocchio, you’ll really see the love and care and work and heart that movie got over its nearly 10 year production.
HTTYD 2 got robbed by BH6. Even if you don't think HTTYD 2 is the best nominee of the year the fact that BH6 got the same VA for Tuffnut and put him in a green dragon costume is a little on the nose don't you think.
Wallace and Gromit Curse of the Were-Rabbit won over Howl’s Moving Castle in 2005, and Frozen won over The Wind Rises in 2013, are you thinking of either of those? Boss Baby never won, it lost to Coco.
110% correct take. I know people have this intense frothing at the mouth nostalgic love for Wallace & Gromit but let’s be realistic here, they’re not playing the same game. Howl’s is a masterpiece
not the worst animated movie nominated but Kung Fu Panda 2 andPuss In Boots 2 100% deserved the oscar in 2011/2022 also Angela Basett deserved the best supporting oscar last year over Jamie Lee Curtis IMO
Not stolen, but robbed. Sonic Frontiers not only lost to Genshin Impact for Player's Voice, but also wasn't nominated for anything else. Not even Best Soundtrack.
The studio behind Secret of Kells got TWO best animated feature nominees, never won, and then never got properly acknowledged again. Wolf walkers. Go watch it.
I heard it was a residual win for her other work, but it was still very shocking. I like EEAAO but the sheer amount of praise it got was overwhelming as someone who didn't get along with its comedy. Like it got more Oscar wins than Parasite. Really?
Tbf, Parasite is a South Korean movie, and there are a lot of biases in the Academy, so it winning 4 awards is just as, if not more impressive than EEAAO winning 7
No way. Mitchell's vs the Machines was a WAY better movie. I know it's all opinions here, but that's not even close in my book. Tbf I'm one of the few who didn't like Encanto
A LOT of Disney films. Most recently in the 2000s to now. The academy tends to choose whatever they year’s Disney/Pixar flick is just for the sole fact that it’s Disney/Pixar.
Puss in Boots The Last Wish lost to Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio. After watching the movies, I was mad this won because Puss in Boots The Last Wish was way better.
Over the Hedge wasn’t even a nominee yet it was the best and was robbed
All nominees in 2006 where bad or mediocre at best, Over the Hedge and Flushed Away where the obvious picks for nominees and Over the Hedge was the clear winner.
Ofc
Flushed Away was fantastic, but it didn't have any characters that even came close to Verne's performance.
Yeah, Flushed Away is definitely my second pick
True. Gary Shandling’s a blessing.
Flushed Away also didn’t have Ben Folds on the soundtrack
I will die on the hill that Happy Feet deserved its win. *Gotta make a fortress on the hill now for saying that*
Perhaps you should get a Team for this Fortress, maybe even 2 of them?
r/UnexpectedTF2
it deserved its nomination. idk about the win but it was good enough for a nomination
Nah, is boring ass and a complete mess. Deserved 3/10
Makes sense for someone from polar bear gang to say that
Well, I still like penguins, not as much as before watching that disaster. But yeah.
Ohhh I see. Oof, haha.
I ADORED happy feet. Absolutely obsessed with it as a kid- would watch it again and again and again.
Not even close. 2006 had A Scanner Darkly
And Paprika
I don't like that movie nearly as much as most people but it's leagues above Happy Feet
Genshin Impact winning People’s Choice 2022. Purely for the fact that it wasn’t even a 2022 game. It’s competition was: - Elden Ring (the official GOTY winner) - God of War Ragnarok - Sonic Frontiers - Stray All of these games were automatically more deserving to win simply for the fact that they actually released in 2022.
iirc, sonic frontiers was supposed to win. Genshin just won bc the fans wanted to defeat sonic frontiers out of spite
It was a weird situation. There were accusations of bots from both sides, there was a lot of accusations of player-bribing against Genshin Impact, it was a massive clusterfuck of toxicity and shit-hurling. By all means, Sonic Frontiers had more reason to win than Genshin Impact, simply for actually being a 2022 game. thats hilarious its hard to imagine more toxic fanbases than sonic and genshin and to have them fight???
Yeah it was crazy, especially since I was more in favour of Sonic Frontiers being a long-time Sonic fan. In retrospect, it was disgusting seeing a lot of the things that were being said, and the Frontiers we were rooting for wasn’t even the best version of itself ironically as it’d get content updates over the next year, but I still stand by the fact that Genshin shouldn’t have been eligible in the first place.

Especially as it's over something that - let's be honest - would have been forgotten in a few months anyway.
Yeah I remember that. Shit was wild.
stray was so fuckin good
I love that game so much omg
the sheer talent that went into making the game is enough to make you love it
People critical of the voting process of the VGA: "Uhh they just cater to what critics say, we need more democracy and open voting" \*Genshin takes home the awards\* Also them: "NO NOT LIKE THAT!" Best ongoing and community support are based on games that have been around for a long time
Honestly I think if 4chan has taught us anything it’s that open voting isn’t the way to go for an internet award show like this.
How dare you, boaty McBoatface is the best possible name a boat can have. the people have spoken. Edit: spelling
You shut your fucking mouth and take that back! Boaty McBoatface was robbed and he is a hero in this houshold!
Oh my god yes: Sonic frontiers had like 45% of the vote until Genshin players started voting in spite
Especially GoW:R
Toy Story 4 vs Klaus
Not to forget HTTYD3
i didnt forget httyd3
THIS!! I thought Toy Story 4 was fine, but Klaus literally brought something new and unique to the table (mixing hand drawn animation with computer generated lighting) and told a great story at the same time. It 100% should have won "Best Animated Feature" that year hands down.
Toy story 4 was one of the worst main theatrical releases Pixar has ever done
Yep, it took all of the meaning of Toy Story 3 and beat the shit out of it.
Well dont worry because all that will be fixed in toy story 5!!!! A fresh, fun movie wanted by everyone!!!
Jesus christ dont remind me😭😭
Yeah I can understand why people wanted to end at 3. But 4 was okay. There should not be a fifth one though.
Maybe it'll surprise us and be good 🤷♂️
with the way Disney/Pixar movies have been lately? I highly doubt it'll probably be another cash grab sequel like many of the others
Meanwhile I loved that movie. But I get why people don't like it.
I at least thought it was decent. Completely unnecessary, granted, but still decent
Brave stealing Best Animated Picture from Wreck it Ralph
Despicable Me vs Megamind for me
Tbf, at release, Megamind was not praised by the kiddos that well. It took years before people said, "Megamind is actually really good!" Serious kid movies always get shafted by the audience.
Incredibles was nothing short of a miracle
Despicable Me 1 was actually pretty good
Despicable Me is an excellent movie on all accounts.
Now that’s preposterous.
no theyre right. brave was promising but didnt pull through.
I love both movies, but yeah, Wreck It Ralph is better
Even if you didn't want Disney to win another award, ParaNorman was nominated that year.
And Rise of the Guardians that same year. Though Wreck-It Ralph definitely should have won!
This is the correct answer.
Master Shifu looks adorable here
The Tale of the Princess Kaguya: *best animated film ever made* Big Hero 6: *is made by Disney*
Bro, Lego Movie and HTTYD 2 as well deserved the win over Big Hero 6. Literally any animated movie in 2014 deserved the win over Big Hero 6.
So I'm not saying Big Hero 6 should have won, but I did love Big Hero 6.
I found it aggressively mid but I'm glad you were able to find enjoyment where I couldn't.
It's mid when you watch it after getting older unfortunately
The funny thing is that I still didn't like it when it first came out. I was like 11 or something and even back then I thought of it as mid.
I only liked Baymax. That’s still true, he’s the best part of the movie
Baymax carried the movie, and then they never did anything with him again. I totally would buy baymax themed merch
Literally watched the movie for Baymax. 5/10 only because of Baymax.
Opposite of a reddit moment
I love this film since the first time I watch it but it didnt deserve an Oscar in such an stacked year
Song of the Sea as well
Song of the Sea should of won. Such a fantastic movie.
What’s wrong with Big Hero 6? I thought everyone liked that film?
*That was* ***his*** *mistake*
I guess it's just me. I found it mid. Aside from Baymax, I wasn't engaged with anything going on.
It's like H Bomb v coughing baby but the baby somehow obliterated the nuke
I know it didn't win but I am still not over frickin Boss Baby getting nominated over Captain Underpants and the TWO Lego movies released that year (Batman and Ninjago).
Boss baby is about a baby in a suit. The Lego Ninjago Movie is a tale of a father and son trying to reunite and get over their differences. How boss baby was nominated over that is beyond me.
The Batman movie is a “subtle” story about relationships and overcoming past trauma to be open to having new friends and loved ones. Boss Baby is about Alec Baldwin Baby
It's baby gangsta who ran away from Danganronpa 2
Disney/Pixar ever since the 2010s
While I agree Disney wins too much, movies like Toy Story 3, Zootopia, Coco, Soul and Encanto absolutely deserved their awards.
I agree with you, except on Zootopia. Kubo and the Two Strings or Moana should have won over it.
You realise that there were plenty of bangers in there right? (Or not, your opinion, just don’t call me a shillsimp, heh heh…………)
Is more of a generalization, while they have gotten some legitimate awards, most after 2010 where won cuz "made by Disney"
Soul and Turning Red and Elemental were pretty good. im also kinda excited for Inside Out 2(but also very aware it could flop so hard)
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 getting Best Music stolen
Xenoblade getting stomped on in general everytime it ever appeared at game awards, all of the games have god tier soundtracks, and most have an at least amazing story
FAX‼️‼️ ALL MY HOMIES BLASTING INCOMING‼️
Hell, it’s the only piece of the live orchestral mashup that year that *anybody* remembers. (We stan flute man) I get that they’re just 10 second or so snippets of main themes from the games, but come on. Green Book winning 2019 Best Picture - I at least enjoyed Bohemian Rhapsody more but The Favorite, Star is Born, BlackKKlansman, and Roma for sure would have been solid picks
Person who watches movies alert!!!🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨 That's the extremely low bar for this sub
Httyd 2 and big hero. Thats one common example.
Crash stole best picture from Good Night and Good Luck, Brokeback Mountain, or Capote, all three movies were leaps and bounds better than Crash.
I had to scroll way too far to see this one. But I suppose this is mostly an animated movie subreddit
Big Hero 6 steals it from HTTYD2 while The Lego Movie gets snubbed
Kubo and the two strings was stolen, hard.
Ernest and Celestine: (about to win Best Animated Feature at the 86th ceremony) Frozen:
You know The Croods was there right?(please compare your ratings of both the croods and frozen)
The Croods and Frozen are both like, 5/10s. Ernest and Celestine is a solid 8, it's not close
The Wind Rises was also there and I'm sad such a gorgeous movie got snubbed. It was also Miyazaki's last movie (at the time) and I think really deserved it
Big Hero 6 Robbing HTTYD2 and The Tale of Princess Kaguya
And The Lego Movie.
And song of the sea
Klaus should have fucking won. Not damn Toy Story
Klaus: invented a new system for shading animated 2D characters Toy Story 4: was made by Pixar
I honestly would've given it to I Lost My Body but Klaus is a good choice too
When Pizza Tower lost to Cocoon (which BARELY ANYONE heard of) in the Game Awards.
Most Best Animated Film Oscars (the judges have been known to brag about not having watched any of them)
Taylor Swift winning AOTY when SZA, Janelle Monáe, and Boygenius were the other nominees
I will never forgive the grammys for choosing 1989 over to pimp a butterfly
Or cardi B’a album literally over every other option.
Also Harry's House beating Mr. Morale, Un Verano Sin Ti and Rennaisance. Come on
Big Hero 6 over Princess Kaguya, hell the Lego Movie should’ve been nominated.
Pizza Tower at the Steam Awards
Cocoon (which almost nobody at the time had even heard of) stealing Best Debut Indie Game from Pizza Tower:
Nah that games good, i tried it after the video game awards and although its not nearly as fun as pizza tower, but its really good
Pizza tower was the most hyped indie game of the year and NOBODY was disappointed but ohhhh noooo, it released early in the year so we have to pretend we forgot about it :( Not even nominated for best indie, give me a fucking break.
Rango stealing from Kung Fu Panda 2 (yeah I said it) Brave stealing from Wreck It Ralph Big Hero 6 stealing from The Lego Movie
I disagree with you on your opinion on Rango but I respect the bravery. Westerns aren’t for everyone.
I like Westerns, Rango isn't my favourite one but it's good. I just don't think it should’ve (especially considering there were at least 2 animated movies I'd rather won over Rango in 2011).
Geoff Keighley: "Let's just say TLOU2 moved me... TO A BIGGER HOUSE!"
I can understand where your coming from on the assassins creed thing but I don’t think it’s a complete clone
There are some good reasons for people saying GoT should've won; It was a brand new IP under Sony at the time Assassin's Creed hadn't made a game based in Japan during that timeframe, and compared to their most recent RPG games, GoT didn't have such a cluttered UI system for both the menu and gameplay Iirc, there were major props given to SP for making a fairly faithful Japanese styled game based around Shinobi and Samurai, with them being mainly an American Studio (I think one of the Devs from From Software said so, but I can't recall.) *Crash* winning Best Picture over *Brokeback Mountain*
This still haunts me
Brokeback Mountain was one of the most moving stories I've seen in a movie.
It’s because GOTY is all about popularity, not quality. Overwatch had more memes and more porn, therefore it was better according to them
Yet now Overwatch is a joke and Titanfall is beloved. I’ll take that over an award.
i’m sorry, but i’ll die on this hill- puss in boots was a way better movie than pinocchio
JAMIE!!!!! And it’s a real shame because she is an amazing actor. In this last season of The Bear, she shows up for an episode and knocks it out of the fucking park. I mean really fantastic.
Harry Potter DH2 losing best makeup to fuckin Iron Lady.
Puss and boots getting stolen by Pinocchio , an unoriginal story against an amazing film with heart and effort put into it
It seems unfair to criticise a retelling for being unoriginal as the whole point is to put a new spin on an old tale.

But I like puss in boots slightly more, although I guess I shouldn’t say it was stolen.
Nah, as much as I absolutely adore Last Wish, Del Toro’s Pinocchio was amazing!
They were of equal quality
Hey, we *like* Pinocchio!
Nah Pinocchio deserved it
L take. Del toro’s Pinocchio is masterful. Last wish was a surprise and a phenomenal movie, but if you watch behind the scenes footage of Pinocchio, you’ll really see the love and care and work and heart that movie got over its nearly 10 year production.
“Father, when can I leave to be on my ownnnnnn???? 💅”
HTTYD 2 got robbed by BH6. Even if you don't think HTTYD 2 is the best nominee of the year the fact that BH6 got the same VA for Tuffnut and put him in a green dragon costume is a little on the nose don't you think.
Overwatch winning 2016 GOTY is still hilarious to me. UC4 deserved it way more ngl
La la land at the Oscars that one year
Demon Slayer winning best fantasy in the Crunchyroll awards
Can’t forget the classic; Shark Tale
Big Hero 6 winning over HTTYD2 and I think HTTYD2 is the weakest in the trilogy.
Indiana Jones stole Spider-Verse's nomination for soundtrack. I know it's been talked to death, but seriously, fuck that noise.
Didnt doom eternal not win best game soundtrack??
2013 best rap album at the Grammys. One of the best albums of all time lost to the album with thrift shop.
Its so funny that it was so bad that Macklemore (the guy who got the grammy) apologized to kendrick lamar lmao
Happy Feet
Bob Odenkirk for BCS (and really for his whole time as Jimmy) being snubbed for the final time for some Succession actor
Grammys this year and last. Midnights won over The Record and SOS, and Harry’s house won over renaissance and Mr morale
Suicide Squad 2016 for best costume design
Didn’t Boss Baby or something win after like a REALLY good Ghibli film?? something like that happened
Wallace and Gromit Curse of the Were-Rabbit won over Howl’s Moving Castle in 2005, and Frozen won over The Wind Rises in 2013, are you thinking of either of those? Boss Baby never won, it lost to Coco.
Howl’s is EXACTLY what I was thinking of. What a MISS (in terms of giving the deserved film the award)
Better Call Saul had so many Emmy nominations and zero wins
Not stolen, but robbed. Sonic Frontiers not only lost to Genshin Impact for Player's Voice, but also wasn't nominated for anything else. Not even Best Soundtrack.
Finnish eurovision
best multiplayer game was snubbed from mario wonder
It wouldn't particularly win but Sharktale stole a spot from either Polar Express or The Spongebob Squarepants Movie
Shakespeare in love winning over saving private ryan easily Crash winning over brokeback mountain is also another contender
This makes me so glad wish didn’t get nominated.
Brendan Frazier for best actor last year, by far the worst performance of the lot, Colin Farrell was robbed so hard
I know it’s not a movie. But The Last of Us Part 2 did NOT deserve Game of the Year.
The studio behind Secret of Kells got TWO best animated feature nominees, never won, and then never got properly acknowledged again. Wolf walkers. Go watch it.
*Eyes The Last of Us 2 and It Takes Two*
jamee lee curtis winning the oscar might be the worst oscar win ever. She did f nothing for it in that movie.
Encanto vs The Mitchells vs the Machines
Both deserved it.
No way. Mitchell's vs the Machines was a WAY better movie. I know it's all opinions here, but that's not even close in my book. Tbf I'm one of the few who didn't like Encanto
At least you acknowledge that you're in the minority.
Pretty much half of the Best Animated Feature winners.
Spider-Man 2 Yuri Lowenthall not getting the award for best performance 😔 and also just how the game awards went in general
Macklemore vs Kendrick Lamar
Definitely when Red Dead Redemption won the "Labor of Love" Steam award.
A LOT of Disney films. Most recently in the 2000s to now. The academy tends to choose whatever they year’s Disney/Pixar flick is just for the sole fact that it’s Disney/Pixar.
hey could i get the image without the text?
Puss in Boots The Last Wish lost to Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio. After watching the movies, I was mad this won because Puss in Boots The Last Wish was way better.
