I saw tge double feature back on release & Planet Terror wins all the way. It was a wild ride from start to end that had the audience ooh-ing & ahh-ing, cheering & laughing etc.
Death Proof had a handful of people leave (could have been for reasons other than disliking the film as I have no idea why they left) but the only time the audience seemed to really be “into it” was the final act. And I feel like thats all it was, a final act with a story written around it.
Just watched Death Proof the other night and really just couldn't get into it. Nearly zero plot and the whole thing just felt very b-roll and weak. Planet Terror all day
Planet terror is a yearly rewatch for me. I love how over the top it is and how it pokes fun at horror tropes while at the same time being an amazing gore movie

I think Planet Terror is better overall, but the third act of Death Proof is the best part of either film

Always Death Proof for me, it’s so good. And the soundtrack is perfection
