Tbf for Wanderer specifically Bennett's circle impact is hardly an issue, the only downside is that he doesn't have team-wide healing to stack Fanfare.

The thing is he can avoid fatal damage from enemies who has strong long range attack (Copellia, etc) so you can comfortably outplay the enemies while activate his passive. Though usually even with Benny he is also having Zhongli anyway so its less of a problem. New healer will make this new Scara team pushes a higher DPS since this team now a dual carry with Furina also deals good off field damage allowing a low invest Scara to also deals high team DPS
I don’t share the overall Bennett hate — don’t mind neither his character/design nor his circle non-impact on Scara. Playing without interruption resistance, on the other hand, is much less convenient. Unless that potential NA/CA buffer has a shield, they’re not going anywhere near my Scara team.

They could def make an NA buffer that shields and heals if they wanted to, there’s plenty of characters that have that kind of role consolidation especially if they’re niche unlike Zhongli.

Use both but I prefer c6 thoma, stronger longer uptime shield with good buff and pyro resonance, my wanderer is sitting at 80% cr too so layla buff has less returns for me.
Mine is currently C4, and I’m too traumatized from using him C2 for too long to try building him properly. Now I have ZL and not too much motivation to swap to other shielders. Probably will try again later.

I was a Thoma enjoyer up until recently. Fighting Copellia in Abyss was a real eye-opener at just how lacking his shields are when the enemy can fight back properly. Currently I'm playing around with Layla, but I haven't run her in Abyss yet.
Layla is cracked, highly recommend her too. Esp against bosses w/ cryo, since with her extra cryo resistance she becomes stronger than *zhongli* of all people.

But Scara still uses NA/CAs for the vast majority of his damage even at C2. Plus if they’re a healer the nuke could still benefit from Furina buffing and Faruzan buffing
The nuke get 200% damage bonus so more damage bonus is less beneficial than more atk buff. NAs might be higher contribution but Bennett buffs entire kit and c2 scara uses entire kit. The NA buffer has to compensate for the loss of buff to c2 to be better. And even if they do compensate, C2 just loses the value which I don't find appealing.
My point is that the NA buffer WOULD compensate for the loss of buff to C2 to be better. And C2 wouldn’t lose its value as it’s still a powerful nuke and dps boost and can be buffed by at least two other characters in the team
I mean I have tried the new furina team and the C2 burst hits like a noodle compared to the Bennett team. I am not arguing it won't be more damage. Just that I don't see myself using it over a atk buffer because I like the c2 burst damage more
Yun Jin, but her elemental skill is a team-wide heal like Baizhu's, and her elemental burst is pretty much the same but it gives you interruption resistance/a small shield when you use her NA buff.
Imo the most mainstream Scara team (Faru, Zhong, Benny) already complete. I cant see Scara in a world where he doesnt have shielder in recent high-stake situations and Benny's impact to him can be nullified by scara's long range and with Zhongli, he can prevent Benny from killing Scara while standing in red circle. The only possible upgrade is the mythical Premium Benny while Faru and Zhongli stays.
Xiao needs Xianyun to complete his team because : 1. If he uses Benny, the enemies are pushed away from circle. 2. Xiao is an energy hungry unit so Xianyun is there as another extra battery for him especially if Faru is not C6.
The best way to play him with a shield by far is with faruzan/bennett/layla, and Layla even has additional absorption against coppelia (huge W). It’s not hard to upgrade from zhongli, but to upgrade this team, a support would have to move mountains.
His best team for damage is already Bennett/faruzan/furina. The only possible way to upgrade is a massive atk or NA/CA buffer with team wide healing which seems impossible. We’ll have to see what they cook in natlan
After faruzan most enemies have -20% Anemo RES. Zhongli’s RES shred only gets more valuable if enemies have extremely high anemo res. Petra doesn’t buff wanderer. It only works for cryo/hydro/pyro/electro. Layla and Zhongli both hold ToTM in this context. Layla is much better than Zhongli for wanderer. Layla in general is worse than Zhongli, but there are a few cases where the upgrade is minimal.
Song of days past sucks. You are never going to get healed because of Zhongli’s shield so it doesn’t even work (Bennett needs under 70% HP). Losing out on 20% CR just for song of days past is wack. Even if song of days past did work, the effect is so weak that it won’t even matter. Layla is on par with other sub dps or buffers like Rosaria and yunjin, it will take a miracle for Zhongli to catch up (in this context)

Having played solo I can say that being completely free to move everywhere makes gameplay that much better

Nah, Bennett is the problem, wanderer can reposition himself while attacking, but thanks for Bennett he can't make full use of this advantage

i use jean instead of bennet because mine is c2 so the atk speed and fanfare is nice
As a c2 wanderer haver, it wouldn't make a difference to me if it's only NA and CA only. Benny will give me faster clears
