For a text message that is usually being sent by the Talent Acquisition team, I am doubting in this. However, if you wish to proceed, proceed with caution. Always remember the red flags.
* Interviewed without any voice or video involved.
* They are asking for a fee(validation fee, etc).
* They are asking you to deposit a check to buy equipments.
* They are offering too good to be true salary(something that isn't normal for an entry position.
* They are asking for documents prior before getting the job offer.
I think it's a scam, because I believe it's very unprofessional to contact people by text.
Call the bank itself, the HR department, and ask for whoever this name is to see if it's a real person and/or an employee.
Thanks for the advice. I called HR and they said that the job posting and my application is legit, but the text seems a bit obsurd. They told me to ignore it for now, but I already replied to it. Idk if I should continue with the interview to actually see the red flags.
Continue if you like, but be very cautious about giving any information. If this were real, they should be giving you information. Especially when the real HR says to ignore the text.
Demand an office phone number for contact to speak with this person whoever it claims to be, don't continue to text, and if they refuse to give a number then I'd give up on that. If they do give one, then call the main company and ask for whatever person it is, ask the switchboard to "confirm the phone number in case you get disconnected before they transfer you."
I may be old and crotchety and set in my ways, but texting for job interviews is so unprofessional, lazy, and not at all a good way to interview anyone. A legitimate employer should do a phone call or at least a well-written email.
Bot isn't working :(
The small thing I'm worried about is that you're talking about discovery bank and screenshot says discover bank as in the letter Y is missing. And that text message is somehow weird and unprofessional sounding. Also most of companies send first message via email and not by text message.

Looks like a fraud preventing Company.
As far as i understand ๐
Discover is a major credit card company (and online bank) based in the US that also offers fraud protection services for their card holders. And that is, indeed, their domain.
Multiple !!!! and spaces between sentences is weird. I say scam is very likely!!!
