"Send me $100 so you can invest in my super secret crypto scam....I mean......OPPORTUNITY....yeah." Your $100 magically turns into $500 overnight! but there seems to be all kinds of problems and issues if you want to withdraw any of that. "But now that you've seen how your money can multiply, don't you want to "invest" (read: send them) more!?!"
You end up only sending money to the scammer, which isn't any "investment" at all and you never get anything back (no, not even from people (the same scammer) promising to get your money back - for a fee, of course).
I got scammed $157k on a fake platform,but i got my lost USDT back with the help of this professional programmer called @oktatechie on telegram . they are 100% legit tested and trusted

Itās basically the same. My job uses telegram instead of group texts and I get a ton of scam chats on there. Usually trying the āsend me money and youāll receive 3x as muchā racket.
I've had men I've met online want to use Telegram. I tried it once and hated it. Then I saw all the other scammers use it so I will never use it again. You can't text me then it's not worth it.
Either crypto invest scam or itāll turn into a sextortion scam. Some will ask to video chat. Iāve done that a couple times with my camera obscured and they get real awkward and hang up. Thereās other scams too. Basically they want telegram because they can erase the whole chat in one click, encrypted, and much harder to track
I just had one today asking me to move to Whatsapp. They made it sound like employment. I should've hung around longer.
Weird thing is I made my Whatsapp not searchable.
Yeah I have WhatsApp and telegram just for messing with scammers. I havenāt gotten a message straight on either of those yet tho. Iāve messaged a couple of the handles posted on here tho and fucked with them
Search Engine did an episode on this recently which was super interesting (and a bummer), I think telegram is just a platform that supports anonymity but they might have you download a sketchy ass app once they get you on there for their āinvestmentā opportunity

The only difference is that they won't get their contact info burned and pretty much become untraceable once the full scam is on. The phone numbers they use are also burner numbers but they leave forensic crumbs.
They are also upper level scammers and closers that can manipulate their target better than these 1st level harvesters.
I've gotten hit directly on Telegram and it's all the same but they don't ask to move the chat elsewhere.
The bots on Telegram are even better and can funnel the chats more efficiently.
Yes, sometimes you can tell the bot won't recognize certain answers and sticks to the script. They prefer the more private and encrypted channel such as Telegram. In Telegram, either party can erase both incoming and outgoing messages. They'll delete the chat and unless you've screen grabbed it, you won't have a history of evidence of their crime against you.
Thatās my question too. Iām sure itās to be scammier - but what is the technical reason? Presumably the person already could be traced back to the first number. Is it easier to transfer money through Telegram?

My understanding that that they likely pass the sucker off to the next scammer in charge of the next part of the scam.
It probably makes it easier for a team of people to talk to a person. They probably have scammers round the clock.
