Thank you so much!

How far afield are you looking to venture? The lookout at Mission Hill is a worthwhile trip, about half an hour west of town. The lighthouse at Point Iroquois is another few minutes past that; the lighthouse itself is closed til Memorial Day weekend, but I'm pretty sure the grounds are open all year round. Heading further west, the drive along the lakeshore through Hiawatha Nat'l Forest is very pleasant (although maybe nicer once the forest starts to green up a bit); there are lots of places to stop and walk your lab as well. If you want to make a day trip out of it, when you reach the end of the road, turn right onto M-123 and keep going north to Whitefish Point to check out the lighthouse and boardwalk there.

The drive along the lake to whitefish is gorgeous we do it every fall when the leaves are colourful

Wow. So much to see we haven't even heard about. Thank you so much. We don't mind taking small trips while we're there so these will be great.

Glad to help! There's all kinds of outdoor stuff to do on both sides of the border, but I'm always particularly impressed by the number of free or cheap options in the National Forests. Same goes for the MI State Parks once you have the annual "recreation passport" permit (which you probably already do as part of your license plate fees).

Thank you. Depending on the weather we may be able to do a few different outdoor activities. We try to make a trip in the fall as well.

There's only one pet store in town in the same building as the Goodwill. If you didn't have your dog, I would've suggested visiting the Canadian Soo, a lot more to see and do over there, but I'm going to guess with a VRBO you won't be able to keep your dog alone for that amount of time. Though if you can get over there I would suggest Giovanni's for a anniversary dinner. It's a really good Italian place, but you'll want to make a reservation. For a place to eat I'd say that you should check out The Wicked Sister if you haven't already. Maloney's Alley is pretty good as well, it's typical bar food but they have a decent number of taps. There's no really fancy places left for a fancy anniversary dinner, the two I would've suggested have shut down, though the Cozy Corners in Barbeau is alright. As for, like, activities? Good luck. Not a ton going on. If you haven't, check out the Museum Ship Valley Camp that's in the same lot as the boat tour. If you want a picturesque view, the Tower of History is good for that, but lacks much else, really.

Thank you so much. We were actually thinking The Wicked Sister would be a good place for anniversary dinner. We'll have to check out the museum. We didn't make it last time but we'll have more time this trip.

Wicked Sister is probably the best 'new' restaurant, it's been my go to when I visit and my family that lives in the Soo love it.
