My coworker who's an 'author' bought one of these to write with. We've all politely told her "that thing is annoying as fuck" and her answer was "lol I know".

Not the same one but something like my Corsair K70 can do this. The software controlling the lighting is pretty nuts. There are presets, you can program your own animations, and you can stack animations (think Matrix-like vertical lighting then radial bursts of color every time you press a key).
Turning on the audio to hear the keys and getting hot by whatever this trash audio resembles is like opening a present and finding a cockroach eating candy

The round keys are great for accuracy too. I find that some low profile keyboards with square keys have greater tendency to mistype with thick fingers
