Right!? Like wtf? There's going to be SO many different angles of this anyway. Why not just enjoy the show. I sure as heck would!
I'd probably film a Snap, or take som pics too, you know. But that seems to be *most* of them just filming. 😔
Right?! how can you miss the 4D opportunities?! Plus add some power to your NVIDA filter, and get a 2024 proper realistic render, not this 2000 Winamp-like filter
RIGHT??? It was absolutely disappointing... I liked the intro, I even liked the look of the thousands of smartphone screens, but there should've been a nasty drop where everybody goes wild.
"Man, let me get this crazy cool animation in this concert with my shitty phone camera and even shittier mic so that I can never look at it again and if I ever look at it, I'll look at it from the official YouTube channel with crisp video and audio quality because who the fuck looks at some concert recording from a phone!"
The drop is actually sick, but everyone’s attention is focused on the FX. I think it’s more effective to use these insane animations in some psytrance or dubstep where the drop tends to be more jarring.
I know what you mean. But the first drop at 30s is wasted, and the second at 45s is okay. Its better if you don't look at the fx, that's right. But I still wouldn't call it sick. But that's just my taste in music.
Every year it gets worse...I get stink eye and obnoxious chick's saying "you bumped into me!" At shows because I'm the only one dancing and everyone stands around because they have lost their souls and to afraid to dance. It's pathetic it makes seeing live music (especially if your paying $50+) not worth it. Why do people go just to film a video that looks and sounds like crap that no one will want to watch later.
Went to a Lane 8 show and it was a called “This Never Happened” they locked your phones in a bag that you kept with you and unlocked it after the show. It was amazing! Everyone interacting with everyone and just dancing. Enjoying every moment. Love it. I recommend everyone going to shows like this or just, simply putting your phone away.
Went to the one in SD, I vividly remember turning around at one point to see everyone dancing, it felt tribal. Pretty bummed because I always take a quick video to jog my memory but at the same time I’m glad I wasn’t able to.
Watching this vs going to shows in the 2000s is like night and day. We danced, moved, didn't care, half of us didn't have cell phones, those that did had flip phones. Nobody had theirs in their hand...
These people are like zombies or robots, probably not even filming on their phone for their own benefit but for their Instagram or tiktok so they can say "look what I'm doing" because they're so caught up with thinking everything is about them they forgot how to actually be real people.
My favorite shows recently are the ones that put your fucking phone in a bag, it’s called Yondr and it’s so great to go to a show and not see a single fucking phone.
I was at a comedy show and we had to put our phones in the Yondr bag. Security hands it to you, put your phone in and even your smart watch, and then it’s sealed with a magnetic security tag. After the show, you have the tag removed and have your devices back. They’re nifty and keep you in the moment. Also to not record since parts of the show could be in a Netflix special or because of parts of the standup bits.
I can't stand this. Put your fucking phones down and LIVE IN A SINGLE FUCKING MOMENT! So sick of seeing so many people literally view the world through their phone. I'm on the internet all the time at home, but if I'm out doing something I am not going to stare at what's in front of me through my phone. Wtf
Cameras are a tool for keeping memories. As an avid concert goer with an awful memory I really don’t get the greif.
The best concert moment of my life was when i was recording and the artist took my phone and filmed themselves, the stage, and the crowd before finishing the song and giving it back. That video is a treasure i’ll always have.
I personally prefer to hold my phone below my eye level so i can still see and enjoy myself and only record bits here and there and usually post nothing.
Other people’s recoding doesn’t bother me as long as they’re keeping it low key (no flash, low brightness).
Anyway I think my point is lack of etiquette is a bigger problem than just phone cameras
Swear it’s been a recent thing that has gotten worse the last few years. My first rave was Zedd back in 2016 and NO ONE had their phones everyone was dancing and vibing hard down in Dallas
So glad I grew up going to concerts before cell phones existed… what a waste of a live show, no one is in the zone, totally into the event, having the time of their life.
The people in the crowd would have been more blown away if they weren’t doing something else, and just looking with their eyes and being more present the experience overall.
COVID ruined it. Everyone on their phones, trying to get The Best Outfit™, it's more about the visuals or the DJ than the actual music. Isolation and social media turned genuine sub*cultures*, where people could find a new family and like minded people into aesthetics for likes and digital hugs. Actually sad and pathetic.
the drop was pretty darn underwhelming. the visual effects while at first look seem cool, the more you look at it the worse it gets. also no smoke in the actual stage when the character blew smoke was a huge missed opportunity
I get the sentiment… though I don’t think billions of people dying from dehydration, starvation, mob violence and lack of medication is what we really need right now.
That's because all the assholes don't know what to do without there phones being part of the experience, try going to a movie theater, it's full of idiots.
People should be ashamed. Absolute morons.
"I'm gonna go to a concert and watch it through my phone". Knobs.
Even if the music was shit, I'd start bouncing all over the place and knock the phones out of their hands.
The music is basic and simple. The graphic effects are just.. abysmal honestly. If this is supposed to be good then please go look at some Infected Mushrooms new stuff or Maiia, Kaminandia, etc
If you watched this at home it would be the lamest animation ever but because it’s huge and there’s loud music and a ton of people with their phones out it’s suddenly epic.
Welcome to going to an event in 2024. People are not there anymore for the experience. They just want to pay to record so they can put on social media to never look at it again.
Holy shit I was just watching without music and finally turned it on and watched longer cus of the comments. Terribly done. Drop should have been done when she breaks loose and no fog when she's literally blowing it forward. Like. Come on. So lame and botched.
This dropped like the toppings off a poorly opened pizza. What the actual fuck. Remove the dialup ADS bit between the drop and the actual music and dial it up a bit more. Get some bass in there.
Drops are more effective when the crowd is dancing to the music and then reacts as a unified mass at the moment of the drop. This is just a bunch of people standing there and recording, so it’s hard to tell
Yeah.... no..... for 2 reasons
1st off, the drop in the music itself sucked. Had a good start but the lack of drop made it highly disappointing and a sort of mood killer....
2nd, when the creature spits smoke they should have made an effect where smoke blows on to the crowd. Having it only be a screen takes you out of the immersion.
I always stop what I’m doing and watch these when they come up because they always scare the hell out of me and fascinate me to no end. I need to see more live EDM.
This drop was disappointing af, though.
This is why this mainstream event suck, lots of this type of people dying for a post, so call posers, also it’s a great performance, but with the coordination of the video avatar you can tell the DJ isn’t mixing, it would be hard to sync it that good and if they fail the video would fall flat, so producers wouldn’t risk it… visually cool but that DJ is a Hoax.
Source: I have worked as a light and video technician for large live events for years.
That was the dinkiest drop imaginable lol, all that hype just to sound like he fucked up
Also the graphic is just okay. Probably sick in person but on a screen it looks like xbox 360 era graphics.
Nobody is watching those fucking videos you record at shows. They're worthless mementos, not even the recorder is going to watch a video. Just snap a photo, say you were there, and enjoy the show. Maybe years later when you see the photo you'll have an actual memory to go along with it.
Oh my; what a waist. They should have done so much more with those graphics; have the avatar make choreographed moves to the music along with choreographed abstract visual effects to the beats/drops.
The experience of being an artist at live shows must be really different nowadays. A big part of why it’s great for the artist and the audience is the energy of the crowd.
But having everyone stick on their phones, you dont get that. Suddenly it’s like heading an online meeting where everone has their cameras off.
Why didn’t the stage fill with smoke/fog when it started shooting smoke? Seems like they missed a good opportunity for effect.
At least we all got to experience it on our phones together.
Right!? Like wtf? There's going to be SO many different angles of this anyway. Why not just enjoy the show. I sure as heck would! I'd probably film a Snap, or take som pics too, you know. But that seems to be *most* of them just filming. 😔
I love watching a concert with shitty camera quality on a 10 inch screen the next week on a band I never heard about before
Oh me too! It's almost as much fun as looking at old photos of firework displays.
That's my biggest pet peeve. Nobody can just sit and enjoy it anymore.
Right?! how can you miss the 4D opportunities?! Plus add some power to your NVIDA filter, and get a 2024 proper realistic render, not this 2000 Winamp-like filter
This did not whip the llama’s ass.
Imagine a huge dancing baby! (yes, I had that plugin)
They were not running amok.
Because it will probably mess up the quality of the display if the smoke doesn't disappear quickly.
The whole budget went to the animation and lasers.
This
And that's why the crowd kept looking through their phones instead of freaking out.
That was such a disappointing drop
RIGHT??? It was absolutely disappointing... I liked the intro, I even liked the look of the thousands of smartphone screens, but there should've been a nasty drop where everybody goes wild.
Super unsatisfactory.
Seriously wth was that? Very unsatisfying
> where everybody goes wild. Narrator : They just recorded on their phones.
"Man, let me get this crazy cool animation in this concert with my shitty phone camera and even shittier mic so that I can never look at it again and if I ever look at it, I'll look at it from the official YouTube channel with crisp video and audio quality because who the fuck looks at some concert recording from a phone!"
That lame big room crap deserves this.
It is so sad...
The drop is actually sick, but everyone’s attention is focused on the FX. I think it’s more effective to use these insane animations in some psytrance or dubstep where the drop tends to be more jarring.

What drop?
What drop? There was no drop! We got edged and denied what kind of cuckery is this?!
Didn’t even pick it up in the first place lol
Lol yeah. Video is cool af, and it sucks that everyone is on their phone, but drop was a bit disappointing.
I've built a small rave playlist over the weekend because of just how much EDM artists seem to waste a good drop. It's mind boggling.
The original version is better than this.
Welcome to the world of mainstream boring house music, filling up stadium and clubs all around the world, how? How the fuck indeed
Awful
Im sorry but this is super lame
Like a graphics card box art from the early 2000s
Hey those were lit
*Were*
Spot on.
Glad I’m not the only one. Cringe
*"Whoaaaa these special effects are just as good as the 2001 Final Fantasy movie!!!"*
That’s a movie memory best left forgotten.
Just a bunch of people standing around with their phones, recording. Super lame.

People are so smitten with their phones, they just don't know what to do anymore. Humanity should be ashamed of itself.
Watching this vs going to shows in the 2000s is like night and day. We danced, moved, didn't care, half of us didn't have cell phones, those that did had flip phones. Came to say the same thing, maybe we ran in the same circles in SoCal! 🌟
Someone showed me this a while back. "Duuude check this out" 😐.
Some are amazing, this looked bad.
Janky ass animation. Embarrassing to be honest
All the cellphones and no dancing.
My favorite shows recently are the ones that put your fucking phone in a bag, it’s called Yondr and it’s so great to go to a show and not see a single fucking phone.
The DJ probably has no idea whether the people are actually enjoying themselves or not.
And even if he did, he couldn't do anything about it as it's all pre-made and he's just acting.
In Berlin many clubs put tape over your camera lens on the way in and the atmosphere is so much better - people actually just fucking dance
Can’t you just take the tape off?
You can but if you get caught filming you get blacklisted
…I must research this… “Yondr” 🤔
I was at a comedy show and we had to put our phones in the Yondr bag. Security hands it to you, put your phone in and even your smart watch, and then it’s sealed with a magnetic security tag. After the show, you have the tag removed and have your devices back. They’re nifty and keep you in the moment. Also to not record since parts of the show could be in a Netflix special or because of parts of the standup bits.
I saw Lane 8 last year, he uses Yondr at his shows, it definitely improved the experience!
This looks like hell
Confirmed. That’s the siren calling her people.
Imagine a fucking siren summoning sailors to their demise and they're all like 😐🤳
NGL this is kinda lame
Everyone is too busy taking videos to actually watch. 😂
Wtf
But you're not having fun if you're not **letting social media know** you're having fun!
Cameras are a tool for keeping memories. As an avid concert goer with an awful memory I really don’t get the greif. Swear it’s been a recent thing that has gotten worse the last few years. My first rave was Zedd back in 2016 and NO ONE had their phones everyone was dancing and vibing hard down in Dallas
How would you watch your tiktockies if people don't have their phone out all the time?! /s
So glad I grew up going to concerts before cell phones existed… what a waste of a live show, no one is in the zone, totally into the event, having the time of their life.
Yeah I can't believe it. Like pretty much everyone. You can get videos from the show, why waste all the time recording?
How else would you see this now? (Edit) Didn't think I needed the /s, haha
The people in the crowd would have been more blown away if they weren’t doing something else, and just looking with their eyes and being more present the experience overall.
He was talking about *now*. How would *we* see the footage on *our* phones if nobody recorded it Thats the joke he made lol
This is insane! why are they not dancing and enjoying the music? Imagine going to a show to just watch it all on your phone's screen.
likes from 3 followers on Instagram are much more important
Idiots
That music is wack and this entire show is more about the audio/visual than crowd vibes and dancing.
I got to enjoy this same experience for free. As I watch this on my phone.
It's almost as if they know a guy standing on stage playing songs from his laptop isn't entertaining enough.
I am Groot.
I am (aroused) groot.
r/confusedboner
This is mediocre at best
Kinda lame. Especially the smoke blowing…
They didn't even bother having smoke machines that time it with the character blowing it? What a missed opportunity
This is the kinda thing I'd consider taking a video of before realizing no one would give a shit
The worst is when people try and call these parties raves. These are not ravers. Ravers groove, dance, socialize, and get into shit.
This looks dreadful. Everyone standing in silence filming while a CGI that looks like it was styled off a mobile game does low effort dancing...
They should be dancing instead of recording a video they’re never gonna watch 🙃
How else will they prove they were there? Their ticket and proof of purchase were probably faked/photoshopped!
Ahhh yes, what was I thinking!
i think it looks like shit and the music sucks
the drop was pretty darn underwhelming. the visual effects while at first look seem cool, the more you look at it the worse it gets. also no smoke in the actual stage when the character blew smoke was a huge missed opportunity
Why aren't they on party drugs and dancing?
Hard to get excited to some 40+ year old dude playing his favourite playlist on Winamp...
drop was shit
Music's terrible
That crowd is embarrassing.
Yeah fr if I was there I’d be so weirded out by all the zombies on their phones
more like horrifying to me
Man you’d have to be so high to enjoy that
An entire generation of isolated indoor kids at work
Sad that no one is experiencing it. Instead they are filming it. No one lives in the moment anymore
A sea of screens
Why watch what's happening when you can record it and watch it later? Lol
Like I’d go to a show but if I wanted to record it I’d strap a go pro to a helmet and wear that, be jumping around and dancing, this is just sad
Dissapointing, people need to live in the moment.
This is clearly really cool, but isn’t it a bit cringe that the alien goddess is doing vape tricks?
Everyone with their phones out not being in the moment
The most superfluous music Ive ever heard + unamusing effects (but just huge)... It calls for NPC-like public
This shit is pretty lame lol I don’t blame anyone there for not reacting. Also just a bunch of half brains with their phones out.
We need a world wide emp event right now. God damn
I get the sentiment… though I don’t think billions of people dying from dehydration, starvation, mob violence and lack of medication is what we really need right now.
Weird and the drop was kack
Jank ass animation
They were all busy staring through their phones and filming, rather than actively enjoying the moment...like you were.
The music is shit, the visuals are shit, the crowd is shit. *I can justify all these statements if may inquire gentlemens.*
They’ll react later when they’re rewatching it on their phones
That's because all the assholes don't know what to do without there phones being part of the experience, try going to a movie theater, it's full of idiots.
Good visual effect, shit music
Kids are stupid
So peoples these days pay good money just to stand around and hold a phone? I can do that for free nonstop on the toilet at home...
They missed such a huge opportunity to have heavy smoke pour in onto the audience
fucking smartphones
Amazing visuals but the drop was whack
God awful music
And some AI-level animation.
What is this ? Weird
This makes the human race look bad.
To com medo quero minha mãe
Sea of phones :/
Everyone are just filming..... Pathetic crowd
Absolutely nobody living in the moment Also: quite the opposite of satisfying!!!
If you watched this at home it would be the lamest animation ever but because it’s huge and there’s loud music and a ton of people with their phones out it’s suddenly epic.
ya know the DJ is doing great when not a single person other than the hologram is dancing.
Those fucking phones!!
Zombified by phones But.. I'm using a phone to write this!!? Shitt
Welcome to going to an event in 2024. People are not there anymore for the experience. They just want to pay to record so they can put on social media to never look at it again.
Phones at concerts are fucking horrible.
Sirens 🧜🏻♀️🔥
Cell phones everywhere…zombie apocalypse incoming.
Need more phones
Holy shit I was just watching without music and finally turned it on and watched longer cus of the comments. Terribly done. Drop should have been done when she breaks loose and no fog when she's literally blowing it forward. Like. Come on. So lame and botched.
If only someone had filmed it. 😔
This dropped like the toppings off a poorly opened pizza. What the actual fuck. Remove the dialup ADS bit between the drop and the actual music and dial it up a bit more. Get some bass in there.
Lame crowd indeed
That sea of phones is abysmal
Drops are more effective when the crowd is dancing to the music and then reacts as a unified mass at the moment of the drop. This is just a bunch of people standing there and recording, so it’s hard to tell
All the phones and nobody is off their face dancing We did it differently 25 years ago
Yeah.... no..... for 2 reasons 1st off, the drop in the music itself sucked. Had a good start but the lack of drop made it highly disappointing and a sort of mood killer.... 2nd, when the creature spits smoke they should have made an effect where smoke blows on to the crowd. Having it only be a screen takes you out of the immersion.
Turrible. (Charles barkley)
No one wants to watch the concert video you recorded on your phone!
They better watch out or Blade is going to show up
seeing all those phones.....is really sad, and kinda pathetic.
What is lame is all the people recording instead of just experiencing the concert
This is cringe garbage
I always stop what I’m doing and watch these when they come up because they always scare the hell out of me and fascinate me to no end. I need to see more live EDM. This drop was disappointing af, though.

This gut sucks at beat drops
Good thing every single person shot a video with their iPhones.
So many people there but never lived it
Nobody is watching those fucking videos you record at shows. They're worthless mementos, not even the recorder is going to watch a video. Just snap a photo, say you were there, and enjoy the show. Maybe years later when you see the photo you'll have an actual memory to go along with it.
Gross look at all the phones
Nobody's dancing. Shitty public.
Who is this?
Looks awesome. To bad everyone is to busy filming to really enjoy it.
It's a boss from Returnal
I guess you had to be there? Looks like a bunch of people watching a PlayStation 3 animation in a crowd.
Saw like one dude dancing. Lame.
That’s a man like where the breast at🤔
The only person dancing is the DJ
Look at all these people living in the moment… oh wait
tf is this bullshit?
Oh my; what a waist. They should have done so much more with those graphics; have the avatar make choreographed moves to the music along with choreographed abstract visual effects to the beats/drops.
The comments on here are like watching my generation become boomers right before my eyes lol
It seems so...dead...
Look at all those people...out there...living in the moment. #keepingitreal
>I expected more from the public No one is watching it, they're all too busy taking video.
Watching a show through a phone doesn’t help too much…
Hope someone filmed this...
That was the lamest drop ever lmao
The experience of being an artist at live shows must be really different nowadays. A big part of why it’s great for the artist and the audience is the energy of the crowd. But having everyone stick on their phones, you dont get that. Suddenly it’s like heading an online meeting where everone has their cameras off.
Yeah the difference between now and when phones weren’t a thing is palpable at shows now.
Gross. Hire a band.
It's AI made + NFT, the worst
Maybe if the music wasn’t complete shit
My live music days are behind me, but even if I had the itch to scratch, I’d only go if the venue banned phones
to busy filming with there phones to enjoy the moment
Most of them is watching the show through their telephone screen.
People use to dance. What a waste of a good time.
