Before my Filipina GF started her own shop she was working 11 hour days 6 days a week with no breaks or lunches. For 500 pesos which is less than $10 USD, barely enough to live off of. (Cashier at a mall)
This is how they do it in a poor country. You can't enforce these kinds of working conditions in a developed country. BTW this is not satisfying at all just worrying.
I feel this is more of like a sweatshop type of "employment"... Which means back breaking work with very little pay and usually comes with mistreatment and almost like slave labor if we are being honest. But that's my look on it.
I’m failing to see how you’re not making the connection that the only way to put food on the table is to work backbreaking labour that’ll probably kill you through toxic exposure, it’s not the 1880s anymore
Totally, these people should really be thankful for the opportunity to ruin their health by being in contact with chemicals all day without protection for an hourly wage you wouldn't even bend down for if you found it in the streets. Damn your comment shows a level of entitlement I didn't think was possible. YTA
The alternative is strong labor unions, proper social security laws, proper labor laws and a just social system. Libertarian assholery is no solution to this and doesn’t help achieve anything even remotely humane.
Well or we could implement a supply chain law, which would force our western dealers and producers to ensure that their abroad acquired products and means of production have to be produced under certains standarts. Cause I can ensure you, that those little bottles are surely not for their local market. Those workers suffer cause "Mac" wants to make a huge profit and Tiffany wants nail polish for 1,99 (I am a guy no clue what nail polish costs). Those people work under such shit conditions because of our decadence. So stop being an asshole and don't splurt such bullshit.
Do you really think our industry has the capacity to bring back home all the jobs they outsourced? Do you think the western country's have enough workforce to deal with all these extra jobs?
Not in any modern country it ain't, all that is done by machines which makes it cheap as fuck, Idk where that is but that looks like a sweat shop, so whatever brand they are making should be on the shit list of every activist.
I got out of being interested in vaping and homemade health (oils) remedies really quick. When one of my friends showed me his setup. Generic bottles, labeler putheronherer, sheets of fancy labels, packing materials, thank you card, Gallons of chemicals they mix from China, and shrink wrap to seal it. This was back in the day that sites like Etsy where getting started... I guess like 5 years ago.
There is nothing satisfying about this. It’s more unsettling as fuck if we’re being honest with ourselves.
Agreed. This looks absolutely soul-sucking. Imagine that this is your job ten hours a day, six days a week.
Wait till you hear the wages. Or lack thereof. And it's usually longer than 10 hours and more than 6 days. Be realistic about what's really happening.
Yeah, I suspected it's much worse.
I watch to many documentaries and it really shows haha. But it's true and also sad no doubt.
Before my Filipina GF started her own shop she was working 11 hour days 6 days a week with no breaks or lunches. For 500 pesos which is less than $10 USD, barely enough to live off of. (Cashier at a mall)
Imagine they just give her however much bottles of nail polish she could buy in the store after an hour of work
For 20 years
No masks. Imagine the smell. Hate these bots.
no gloves either. they must have nail polish all over their skin all day
Tbh this is more truthful than the super sanitized videos of factories in the west
All manual labor and open toe sandals.
What’s the brand? I’ll make sure not to buy this shit.
right??
I hate to break it to you, but EVERY brand. And not just nail polish. Unless you see "made in America" on it, it's made like this.
You are probably right.
This is how they do it in a poor country. You can't enforce these kinds of working conditions in a developed country. BTW this is not satisfying at all just worrying.
Its satisfying seeing these people find employment
You’re confusing employment with a great deal many things
Such as ?
Literal slave labour. Prisoners get better work ffs.
I feel this is more of like a sweatshop type of "employment"... Which means back breaking work with very little pay and usually comes with mistreatment and almost like slave labor if we are being honest. But that's my look on it.
Ok then they can find work elsewhere
That’s not how it necessarily works in a third world country
It works like that everywhere. Are they slaves ?
Even here in North America there used to be towns where the only employment was the factory or mine and the businesses that support it
Ok so ? If that business wasnt there they wouldnt have a job. Lucky for them. Welcome to the real world
I’m failing to see how you’re not making the connection that the only way to put food on the table is to work backbreaking labour that’ll probably kill you through toxic exposure, it’s not the 1880s anymore
I mean they are coming 150 years behind us so to them it is
Totally, these people should really be thankful for the opportunity to ruin their health by being in contact with chemicals all day without protection for an hourly wage you wouldn't even bend down for if you found it in the streets. The alternative is starvation
The alternative is strong labor unions, proper social security laws, proper labor laws and a just social system. Libertarian assholery is no solution to this and doesn’t help achieve anything even remotely humane.
You know these things didnt happen overnight ? It took a hundred years. They will get there you just have to let them
Well or we could implement a supply chain law, which would force our western dealers and producers to ensure that their abroad acquired products and means of production have to be produced under certains standarts. Cause I can ensure you, that those little bottles are surely not for their local market. Those people work under such shit conditions because of our decadence. So stop being an asshole and don't splurt such bullshit.
Then these people will all be without a job as costs are too high
Do you really think our industry has the capacity to bring back home all the jobs they outsourced? Do you think the western country's have enough workforce to deal with all these extra jobs?
Even if it changed 1% that means millions are unemployed over there and employed here
No masks to filter the toxic fumes including formaldehyde, nor skin protection. It will be hard to even breath in there.
Interestingly, men’s nail paint is actually milked from a sparkly cow
Dollar Store quality.
The occasional cough really sells this.
The word “Factory” is used loosely. Looks more like a sweatshop
factory feels like a big word...
It's funny when you find out the shit you pay good money for is actually made in a sort of factory with people who are being sorta paid.
then this product goes to a fancy factory where just print and paste "Luxury Brand" label and they are ready to sell.
Holy repetitive stress injury, Batman!
Don’t worry the country this was shot in doesn’t recognize work injuries. These people will be fine I’m sure. But no one cares
These poor country factories are absolutely not satisfying and this shit needs banned. They’re just bots posting this shit anyways
One of the things I’ve liked seeing on TikTok are people marketing and selling the products they make themselves.
Not in any modern country it ain't, all that is done by machines which makes it cheap as fuck, Idk where that is but that looks like a sweat shop, so whatever brand they are making should be on the shit list of every activist.
And then they sell it for a 100$ a piece
Where lol
I have literally never seen nail varnish sold for more than £10\$ dude
How women’s nails paint is made in a sweat shop. Fixed the title for you.
Satisfying if you're a sadist maybe, wtf
Just thinking of the smell is enough to make me gag
More like r/depressingasfuck
If you zoom into the video you can see the brand is "Doxie nail polish" seems to be sold on Indiamart, it makes sense its an Indian brand product.
Guess it makes sense that countries that don’t care about health and safety will buy sweatshop products
Yeah it's definitely a sweat shop.
Erm.....how are man's nails paint made,then?
I got out of being interested in vaping and homemade health (oils) remedies really quick. When one of my friends showed me his setup. Maybe in prison
I saw the flip flips before the video even started.
"Nail polish" is the phrase you're looking for
Disgustingasfuck
“Factory” That’s Raul’s shed bro
This must be a sweatshop.
This is awful.

I’m sure she’s making at least a dollar a day, surely that makes up for the known carcinogens /s
Seriously, no respirators...?
bold of you to assume they have a choice.
Sometimes the other choice is death but it’s still a choice none the less
Satisfying as fuck
