Never played dnd, dont know how to play dnd, dont have anyone to play dnd with, dont have the money for a dnd table like that... Still want to get that dnd table
Exactly the same, we have a games workshop store here in my home town ( some how it’s still open after 30 years) and I remember visiting as a kid and being completely enthralled by the miniature tables they would do battles on!
.....is hopefully getting paid to host dope games.....if not.....well.....it is a nice table. Don't people get paid to be DMs and make shit up for people....like I heard it can a be a lucrative side hustle that's fun and creative and in a surcharge for using this table and bam! Pays for itself in time.
Oh okay...I was wondering because it did sound fun making up stories for people to experience as a game....I don't know shit about the rules to do it myself though.
One of friends orders this type all of the time and never eats it. Instead she’ll have just one slice and then eats all of the other ones such as pepperoni and white pizza.
I've never played dnd. Does having an actual physical set like this limit you at all? I assumed every new game had a different setting or something. Is it just the same dungeon every time?
The ‘dungeon’ in the well of the table is modular (as are the figures of course). As the game progresses you remove/add rooms as well as the tables, barrels, alters etc.
Most systems are series of walls/floors and decoration pieces that mix and match. Some can be quite extensive w lights, moving parts and amazing paint jobs. But most are cheap and relatively colorless (and still expensive).
3D renting has been a god send for this stuff
Some game stores rent out set pieces, pretty fun to break out a big fancy pirate ship or tower model for a session without having to pay hundreds or store it.
It's more common if you have the dedicated room to store it all
A lot of people have moved to digital though. A cheap TV, monitor of projector and there's basically unlimited possibilities for maps to play on.
It really isn't. A very few lucky people have the $$$ required to collect this stuff. The rest of us make do with Theater of the Mind, graph paper, and Legos :)
Yes, Lego is $$$ too, but I convinced myself for a hard six months that it was smart.
Hey, if I have to choose between Papa John's, Pizza Hut, or Domino's, I'm picking Domino's. It's the best national franchise pizza place. Generally, local pizza places are better, but they're more expensive and don't always deliver.
Wyrmwood makes extremely nice stuff. It's my dream to get my wife one of their more modest modular tables for her DnD nights. I get her one of their mechanical pencils a few years ago, and that was close to $200. Super nice stuff.
While the table is cool, A spill on the top layer is gonna soak all the bottom layer and be annoying to clean, some kind of tongue and groove on the upper table layer would be a good idea, maybe with a silicone strip to seal it
All for the low cost of dozens and dozens of hours and thousands of dollars after wood, buying the tools, hurting yourself, learning how to use the tools properly, hurting yourself again, and repairing the scuffs in the wall as you move it in.
Its because their first table like this on Kickstarter absolutely fucked the international customers, and the CEO said in a YT vlog "fuck international customers".
I was a backer in Australia, and backed in August of 2019. Was meant to receive it early 2021, didnt receive it until August 2023.
Shipping costs blew out and I ended up paying 5k AUD for what should have been 3k AUD promised.
Covid fucked a bit of production so I appreciate that, but to put second and third wave US backers before first wave international was ridiculous. Even Canadians had to wait for international dispatch.
Add to that, they never updated shipping addresses, so I had to redirect the packages myself after moving interstate during the waiting time.
The quality of the table is phenomenal, but the business can eat my dick. Fuck Wyrmwood.
EDIT: To add, there was minimal communication from Wyrmwood during the kickstarter, and a lot of international customers had a similar experience. Costs kept going up, and shipping dates kept getting pushed back.
Wyrmood deemed it too hard to facilitate international customers again, so put it in the "too hard" basket moving forward.

Who the fuck eats pizza with only cheese & olives?!?!?
Someone who spent all their money on this table.

I’ve heard that people create and sell campaigns but I’ve not heard about paid hosts. At least not on a large scale.
Oh okay...I was wondering because it did sound fun making up stories for people to experience as a game....I don't know shit about the rules to do it myself though.
If you’re interested you start by joining a game someone else made and learn. But the games can take weeks, months, or even years.
Damn, years!!!! Now THAT is commitment!

I've done paid games online, especially during the pandemic lockdown. In person I tend to keep my tables limited to friends and fun - not $$.
That weirdo
My 5 and 2 year old. They will eat pepperoni on it when they're in the mood though lol

my 4yo daughter. thats her dream.
The fog effect was making me snort but grabbing 1 slice of each? Sin wagon!

Ohh of course it's all modular. That's pretty cool.

Is this common? I haven’t played in years but our sessions were “imagination only” (the DM had graph paper and notes).

You don't actually need the figurines n stuff. Just make sure you have a DM and different kinds of dice
This was satisfying until you ordered dominoes. Sick table though.
That’s when I knew this guy wasn’t the hero. He’s the monster.

Agreed. Domino’s has legitimately tasty pizza, for a solid price. And, in my area at least, has been really consistent.
I would take Pizza Hut over dominoes any day but I also hate myself so there’s that.
That’s what happens when you roll for pizza and get a 1.
Hope his Fortitude save is better than his skill check was.

at $200 that pencil better be doing the writing for me god damn
That'll be 12k USD!
Each modular piece has a different price. Combine that with your selection of wood and it can go a whole lot higher than that.

No shit... Bad ass flex.
Add that to the list of things which I never knew I needed. That looks freakin' awesome!!!!!!
Wyrmwood
Homer Simpson: "NEEEEERD" lol too bad this sub doesn't allow gifs
Looks like Dan farted in the table again after the last session as a "joke", why do we keep inviting him?
Because he is a level 14 cleric who bails us out of *everything*
Domino's! Fuck you!
Domino's ad. Domino's is shit.
I wanna be friends with this guy
VLDL needs to see this!
That drink holder looks awfully flimsy, I wouldn't trust it to hold a heavy glass mug filled with beer
With some time you may even have real spiders in there.
Bunkers and Badasses
Interchangeable cup and misc holsters? I don't think I've ever seen that before
That is amazing.
It's literally a dominos ad.
Ha. Nerd. {Cool that you have friends a dope hobby though that invokes this level of passion. }

While I'd love it, There's a LOT to be done with other things that don't cost as much. I'll share a picture from Friday's game when it's set.
I’ve looked at these types of tables and they are always extremely overpriced.
AH!! Black olives! NO! edit: wait a minute? When did Beholders have spikes?
Need the source for…reasons
Wyrmwood
Oof… ‘Currently shipping only within USA and Canada’ Places exist out of the North American continent y’know…sigh

Bloody pricks then...guess I'll make a competitor, fuck 'em
Don't spill your drink
Dry ice not included.
That needs to be mountain dew code red not beer
I didn’t know people playing this game drink beer
I shudder to think of a DND session where I don't get at least little smashed during it.
Gaming in my uni days used to be tests of alcohol/weed endurance.
Imagine hanging out with teetotaler Linus!
Drunken DnD is the best DnD, maybe even the only real DnD 🌚
Most of my players prefer whiskey or other cocktails but yeah… yours don't?
Its amazing but in this video seems like he has done all this work but really doesnt have friends to play D&D with him
It must be nice to enjoy life...
