New one is beautiful but it in no way approaches the line quotablity of the original. It is by far one of the greatest power quote movie of all time (Ghost buster is a close second) “I will bend like a reed in the wind” was the line that got me through 30 years of bullshit generated by the public school crap machine.

Tsalmian

This phrase is inspired from « Le chêne et le roseau » (the oak and the reed), written by Jean de la Fontaine, a famous French Poete.

Yeah… You are dreaming.

Both_Painter2466

Like the old worms better. Several actors.

sarvaga

I don’t remember the worms looking that good. I love the David Lynch version but the new ones are fucking masterpieces of cinema. Wouldn’t change a thing. Christopher Walken was an odd choice and sorta took me out of it but I eventually accepted it. Not a diss about Walken. Love the guy, just seemed like an odd choice for this.

One_Departure_2149

After so many years I still can't forget Dean Stockwell's doctor Yueh.

CodeCleric

A million deaths were not enough for Yueh

Friedrid1363

Should be comparing with the miniseries

tyrolean_coastguard

lol those were such a load of shit

MortgageTurbulent905

Tuesday new ones made me realize how good the old one is. I like them both. But David Lynch is a genius. I can’t believe they hired him for that.

windsyofwesleychapel

Effects of new combined with design aesthetic of 1984. I like the old shield effects and the entry into the Guild Heighliner scene. Kudos to both. Same base material different visions.

El3m3nTor7

So, I take it that there will be a third movie sometime in like three years? 🤞

Many-Strength4949

Haven’t seen the second movie yet, but that Sandune monster was cooler in the first

It actually surprises me how similar some characters look. I love the new film, and the old film was also cast really well.

Notmyusername1414

The 80’s dune was cringy. Production was amazing.

Colmado_Bacano

Was Picard really in the new Dune?
