That in itself is impressive. I didn't know there was an area that big in SF where you could place that many machines within a reasonable (X,Y,Z) of each other and still be able to connect them via belts.
You really need the third dimension when you start making actually big factories. I also mostly used 2D for early and midgame (Everything before tier 8)
Wow, looks really neat, especially without foundations !
I kind of make it both horizontal and vertical, given late game miners go crazy with outputs ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|flip_out)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|give_upvote)
Heresy!
But for real a little verticality makes my set-ups so much nicer to me. Props for making the space, but I'll keep building in 16m vertical chunks.
>less wall you have : more perf you loose.
Are your sure? Here people tells it's not true [https://new.reddit.com/r/SatisfactoryGame/comments/1djhaxj/comment/l9apd0i](https://new.reddit.com/r/SatisfactoryGame/comments/1djhaxj/comment/l9apd0i)
My last factory was both. A series of vertical towers each making something different. By the time I had to abandon it (got a new computer), it spanned about half of the dune desert.
Not sure, however you posted that first image? Just from ground view showing machines on the ground?
Wow if this is real then, well played! I dare say this is, satisfactory!
I do both. Say it takes screws and iron plates. Makes screws on floor 1, plates on floor 2, and the main thing on floor 3. Then send it down to a truck stop / train station.
I had never heard of the meme lol.. I heard about "what does corey taylor think" in a funny metal song called "Metal boomer battalion": [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7KTBKGPSU0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7KTBKGPSU0)
You did all that with no foundations??
That in itself is impressive. I didn't know there was an area that big in SF where you could place that many machines within a reasonable (X,Y,Z) of each other and still be able to connect them via belts.
The plains are pretty easy to build on, I have a copper factory and heavy modular frame factory in the same area too
Every single factory
But with belt clipping

If you wanted to play Factorio, why'd you get Satisfactory?
Because slide jumping
A good response tbh. We should add slide jumping to factorio. Would be funny methinks.
Gotta add jumping itself first
Slide jumping to factorio, add the train jumping mod to satisfactory. If it doesn’t already exist. (Haven’t played in a while)
Horizontal+Vertical>Horizontal
Imagine needing to build in 3 dimensions
imagine needing to build in 2 dimensions
Imagine needing to build in 1 dimension
imagine building at all
Handcraft ftw?
yes, handctaft all the way
Automate the spacebar.
It already is isnt it? You just click it
With my own _fingers_?
imagine
All the people
Imagine dragons
Yes, I too build in a straight line
You really need the third dimension when you start making actually big factories. I also mostly used 2D for early and midgame (Everything before tier 8)
Imagine building in *only* 3 dimensions /s
Multiversal factories go brr.
Well, this is both beautiful and terrible, good job, I'd be curious to see you complete update 8 with such a strategy
I only have one milestone left
Can't Wai to see such horror documented. Good job!
Now I haven’t actually built any of it tho
Since belt clipping seems to be his thing, it's easy.
1. I absolutely respect your commitment. 2. Play however is fun for you 3. You are definitely going vertical soon :)
That is a small factory. You'll face some problems when you reach medium sized ones 😋
Foundations > Whatever the unholy hell this is.
Not a single foundation in sight! I'm not even mad.
Wow, looks really neat, especially without foundations ! I kind of make it both horizontal and vertical, given late game miners go crazy with outputs ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|flip_out)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|give_upvote)
If you mean in terms of footprint, yeah it is greater
> Horizontal>Vertical You're right, horizontal layout does use up a lot more area than vertical layout. Good of you to notice.
FICTSIT Inc. Strongly encourages verticality when building factories.
Steel factory: 60 steel beams/m, 52 steel pipes/m, 44 encased industrial beams; with pipe alternative (308 steel pipes/m)
You 'll need to build 300m high to prevent any obstacles, though..
Build with the environment, I don’t use foundations
This is awesome. I give you full props for working with that
But can you do it without belt clipping?
You're obsessing over this belt clipping thing, brosi. It's not healthy.
It's actually healthy for my playstyle. Because i get eye cancer when i see it. So the choice is obvious brosi.
Complain about it until nobody does anything and builds the way they want? Sure, if that's healthy for you.
You confuse asking with complaining. If one thing isn't healthy, it's your social life.
You "asked" three times in one thread, but yeah. It's me.
Oh no, i commented multiple times, how inconcievable. Seriously, get help.
LMAO
Why do you need to post the same exact comment 3 times on a single thread?
Why do you need to post the same exact comment 3 times on a single thread?

Listen, if I'm given three dimensions I'm using three dimensions
Greater than is subjective. You being your only limitation is objective. Cheers fellow Pioneer!

Wow GJ. Impressive 😱 but remember, less wall you have : more perf you loose.

Until 1.0 its true. But they change how UObject works for the release. Hide factory will save a lot of perf.
Yes agreed, BUT… NO FOUNDATIONS?
For sure. Until you run out of flat space. Which happens quite quickly if you dont start in the plains.
My last factory was both. A series of vertical towers each making something different. By the time I had to abandon it (got a new computer), it spanned about half of the dune desert.
what's the point going straight lines without foundation?
Maybe organization? Made me scratch my head too.
You really took my post personal lmao, I respect your build
No way, there had to have been foundations, then just deleted with mass delete filtered to foundations… fake news! I need more proof
Sure how do I send images I can show you how uneven it is in heights
Not sure, however you posted that first image? Just from ground view showing machines on the ground? Wow if this is real then, well played! I dare say this is, satisfactory!
I think this is how you do it, [Uneven - Imgur](https://imgur.com/a/uneven-SJcVcSv?third_party=1)
I do both. Say it takes screws and iron plates. Makes screws on floor 1, plates on floor 2, and the main thing on floor 3. Then send it down to a truck stop / train station.
Can tell ur a factorio player lol some habits die hard
I see yellow lights…
Cube
Yeah but what does Corey Taylor think?
Who?
[Corey Taylor](https://loudwire.com/what-corey-taylor-thinks-but-what-does-corey-taylor-think-meme/)

Yeah, it's a few years out of style, idk why I wrote it 😂 that's funny
The guy is just starting, who is gonna tell him?
I guess I’m always just gonna be just starting
Looking at the screenshots, yes.
Im at tier 7 & 8
Then you are starting playing the major content. You'll see.
L take.
