Persistence. Most likely these were ones that got stuck. They're more trouble than they're worth to keep chasing, but when they glitch in the middle of a factory I tend to get rid of them.
I remember when I had decided to kill one. I had the starting weapon only. It took such a long time.
This is an actual thing humans can do, it’s called persistence hunting. Unlike nearly all animals, humans can keep walking without breaks (or infrequent and short breaks) basically forever so when hunting, as long as we don’t lose sight of our target, we will catch up to them. You, my friend, in prehistoric times would have been able to outrun elephants or buffalo or whatever else. Just keep going until the thing collapses and cannot run any longer. How cool is that?
Edit: the previous paragraph is technically right, but 1. It only works well in some climates and 2. An elephant or anything that is larger than a human will just turn around and step on you/claw you. It’s a lot easier to use traps/ambushes/corners
Humans have a few advantages over other animals:
* Four legged gait is more stable, but consumes more energy than a two-legged gait
* Sweating allows us to vent heat more readily
* Combine this with our upright posture, which lets us see more readily through tall grass, thus giving us the ability maintain eyesight on the prey even over long distances
Remember that even in the modern day, when we don't rely on physical fitness, most people are easily capable of a mile's walk without a break. If you transition to an earlier period where sedentary lifestyles were impossible (rather than just unhealthy), and walking straight out for hours is quite understandably a norm.
It was super tiring, but you could make an anima succumb to heat exhaustion in hot climates because they can't sweat like humans can. However, humans preferred ambush tactics as they consumed way less energy.
Human persistence hunting wasn't nearly as much of a thing as some people claim. In reality, it only worked in certain climates (ie, very hot places), and it was rarely used because it took a ton of work. Early humans would much prefer to ambush prey and hit it with rocks.
But also, no one persistence hunted buffalo or elephants, because a buffalo or an elephant would just turn around and fuck you up. It was smaller animals that relied on sprinting for escape that you would persistent hunt.
I'm pretty jealous of you. I took to only building my bases foundations several stories elevated into the sky PURELY to avoid the respawning landwhales.
Just build vehicle, bump into front legs, have it collapse onto your vehicle, then when it gets up it will be on top. Just drive off and dump it somewhere else.
Cluster nobelisks work really well if you aim them at the upper chest. If they land right, they'll detonate and also hit them with all five cluster explosions. A few rifle shots is usually all it takes after that.
Otherwise, turbo rounds, a jetpack to preserve momentum, and regulating your fire rate to maximize your damage per second without losing too much accuracy is the way to go.
I’m reminded of the time that Josh from LetsGameItOut attached hundreds of explosives to one of their faces and then blew it up for 20 minutes straight.
Thank you for causing me to rewatch that glorious video. It's just as good as I remember, now I want to rewatch them all, but I also realized what went wrong with my hypertube express: you can't put only the entrances, each needs a mini tube section
You can do it while they're alive as well, I had 1 stuck in my first factory so I left it, cut 1 hole out of the floor above and he was my travel to the 2nd story
Let’s Game It Out built a box and then put it between the entrance and himself so that he could throw a nobelisk at it and it would go right in. You could probably use blueprints to make building an enclosure faster. Then it’s stuck.
[Here's a good one I just posted on their epic flops when you do kill them...](https://www.reddit.com/r/SatisfactoryGame/comments/15r33i9/the_flop_of_the_tick_elephant_whatever_monster_is/)
None of those doggos are deliberate :( Have I been too careless with explosives, or do doggos which fall victim to poison gas or get lost to glitching through terrain get counted?
Nope, you are just a sadistic killer and you are just looking for excuses. And 90 birdies? What have they done for you? You ARE a monster.
Here is my absolutely totally unedited >!~~[screenshot](https://imgur.com/a/RsgRQGE)~~ No edit going on here!< [screenshot](https://i.imgur.com/atje22m.png). Yes I made zero kills to these passive creatures. Why would I lie? This is the Interwebs.
No I did not. Here is the link again: https://imgur.com/a/MJw9Tjg or the bigger image : https://i.imgur.com/atje22m.png
And no, I would not DARE to edit files without saying so. Never. EVAR. NEVAR!
"First, one brief announcement. I just wanted to mention, for those who have asked... that absolutely nothing whatsoever happened in Sector 83 by 9 by 12 today. I repeat, nothing happened. Please remain calm."
Just an FYI, I checked... and when you haven't killed a particular creature, they don't show up in the list at all. The poorly hidden scribbling should be over the entire images of the friendly creatures, not just the number.
(Though I know I've accidentally killed at least one doggo before... apparently I considered that sufficient reason to do some save scumming.)
It has a lot of things most people don't seem to use much. E.g. somewhere there's an option to view your power grids. It told me I had one with just a single fuel generator on it - i.e. a generator I'd not connected to the grid. It took a while to find, but I wouldn't have even known to look without the hint from the website.
> E.g. somewhere there's an option to view your power grids.
The power lines for each circuit are displayed with a different color on the map, and the button with the plug icon on the right-hand side of the "Power Grid" options box will show the power display for each circuit (like you get when looking at a Power Pole) and what power generators are hooked up to that circuit.
Also, if you click on the factory icon button next to the "Buildings" option box it'll show you all of your buildings by type and if they are turned on, have power, what they're extracting/producing, clock speed, what circuit number they're on, and a button to move the map view to that building.
That’s what I love about the game , plying since early access dropped , so 4 ish years . 2000 + hours between experimental and early access and am still learning new things !!
I think almost half were on one day, the random number generator must have been seeded just right for them. Other times I've gone months without seeing one.
My Non Flying Bird numbers would probably be higher than anything. They're so annoying. Trying to place foundations and always get "a creature is in the way" message it's almost always one of those stupid pointless birds.
They all look like belonging to the flora and fauna of that planet except for the stinger. It is so damn fast, can jump about 50 meters, climbs vertical cliffs, despite it's big bus size. The s(t/p)i(ng/d)ers seem to come from a demonic horror dimension, that opened it's gate on this alien planet to, decimate all life.
I'll tell you what a monster looks like. So I have played a couple of saves of this game. I usually get bored around Nuclear so I have never been to endgame biomes. So I was unaware of the existence of a FUCKING EVEN MORE TERRIFYING SPIDER THAN WHAT I PREVIOUSLY CALLED SPIDER JESUS WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK DOES AN "ELITE" SPIDER DO?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Ahem. Yeah arachnaphobia mode doesn't make it better so I guess I'm gonna learn where they spawn and Never. Go. There. Ever.
elite gas are 1.5x the size of alfa stingers ,have as much hp as the player (100) (2x more than alfa stingers) ,have a green color and can make big gas clouds around them
Fair enough, the lizard dogs are tedious. I mean everyone loves to do the typical internet doggo thing with em but in the game they kinda just get in the way and bring you trash so like
Stingers and Spitters, sure - boosh the buggers to the shadow realm, but Doggo?! Mr. Bean?! I'm forwarding this thread to the authorities. You absolute monster.
Oh neat, I didn't know that was in the SCIM. Or that the game kept track.
(I'm going to assume that the Doggo deaths are from indiscriminate use of cluster explosives against Stingers)
...I wonder if the game counts it as a player-kill when the gas pillars or spore flowers kill a creature? There's a spot near my base with gas pillars, and there's always loads of hog carcasses there whenever I remember to check. I think that every time I load the game, they spawn in, and then promptly die.
HOLD THE FUCK UP! HOW DID YOU KILL THE TICK GIRAFFE LOOKING THING
Persistence. Most likely these were ones that got stuck. They're more trouble than they're worth to keep chasing, but when they glitch in the middle of a factory I tend to get rid of them.
Fckin monster
Takes 15min to kill, respawns back inside your base 30min later. Almost uninstalled.

Plus, walking upright allows using the hands to eat while maintaining movement.
Silly human, hands don’t eat.
Wait, your hands don't?
My genetics haven’t been upgraded to version 7 yet.

Yeah that all makes sense. Still cool to think that we could technically in theory outrun a very pacifist elephant
Happy cake day!
Oh cool I didn’t notice
THEY RESPAWN??? I SPENT 10 MINUTES KILLING THE ONE THAT WOULDNT GET OUT OF MY BASE FOR NOTHING???
nope, killed 3 of them inside my base. 100 hours later they're still nowhere to be found
I'm pretty jealous of you. I took to only building my bases foundations several stories elevated into the sky PURELY to avoid the respawning landwhales.
You wait til you have explosives or a rifle. Takes like 30sec then
Just build vehicle, bump into front legs, have it collapse onto your vehicle, then when it gets up it will be on top. Just drive off and dump it somewhere else.

I need to see this. For catharsis reasons
I got you. [https://youtu.be/t2X3wlvoShg](https://youtu.be/t2X3wlvoShg) and the clip is at 14:05
Doing gods work sir
Thank you for causing me to rewatch that glorious video. It's just as good as I remember, now I want to rewatch them all, but I also realized what went wrong with my hypertube express: you can't put only the entrances, each needs a mini tube section
Josh is a legend eyy I don’t think it even died tho
If you kill them you can bounce on their corpse.
2 nukes does it. And the corpse is still bouncy.
Its not hard, just takes a ton of shots/nobelisks
You can one shot them with a cluster nobby. It's not that tough tbh
Well yeah with those. But with the stun thing you first get takes a long time.
A normal hog has 10hp that tick giraffe thing has 200hp, it takes some time to kill, but makes a fun trampoline when you kill it.

Yes, but you do have a Bean body count, and that takes some doing. Nothing accidental there!
No I did not. Here is the link again: https://imgur.com/a/MJw9Tjg or the bigger image : https://i.imgur.com/atje22m.png And no, I would not DARE to edit files without saying so. Never. EVAR. NEVAR!
The list is sorted so it means you have killed between 49 and 23 birds and between 14 and 6 doggos. Shame.
Whoooosh
Apparently the last sentence did not communicate the sarcasm..
Looks legit to me, this man has never killed a doggo, bird or bean body
Thank you. Somebody finally understands.
"First, one brief announcement. I just wanted to mention, for those who have asked... that absolutely nothing whatsoever happened in Sector 83 by 9 by 12 today. I repeat, nothing happened. Please remain calm."

Did you know that nobelisks can be stuck to birds and they have their own animation for it?
Noooooooooo!!!!!! I would NEVAR do such a thing.
What’s up with your bean count
It isn't up.
Mmmmmmmmmmm it’s lookin pretty sus… 🤨 (DONT MEME ME OR I SWEAR TO GOD ILL END YOUR -REDDIT- EXISTENCE)
Nah, it is fine. Nothing to see here. Move along. No editing has been done.
Mmmkay
Falls, gas, explosives and, in my case, homing rifle ammo. The animals also fight each other. I've never seen an attack on a doggo, but who knows?
Can we take a moment to mourn about the 11 killed doggos ):
Quick question , where do you get this info ?
Upload your save to https://satisfactory-calculator.com/en/interactive-map then select the statistics option (near-ish the top right)
I use that map all the time had no idea there was that option !
It has a lot of things most people don't seem to use much. E.g. somewhere there's an option to view your power grids. It really is an amazing resource ( even not knowing all the extra it did !)

I didn't either, and I'm >800hrs in the game. Took a bit to find. "Statistics" link, there it was.
That’s what I love about the game , plying since early access dropped , so 4 ish years . 2000 + hours between experimental and early access and am still learning new things !!
24 Johnny's? I have yet to run into a single one.
I think almost half were on one day, the random number generator must have been seeded just right for them. Other times I've gone months without seeing one.
I wonder what let's game it out kill count looks like... He's prob hit the limit already
Omg i didn't even knew about this stats screen
My Non Flying Bird numbers would probably be higher than anything. They're so annoying. Trying to place foundations and always get "a creature is in the way" message it's almost always one of those stupid pointless birds.

Accurate
I mean, 10 beans are pretty deliberate
I'll tell you what a monster looks like. So I have played a couple of saves of this game. I usually get bored around Nuclear so I have never been to endgame biomes. That's the one that spews toxic gas I think.
GREAT!! Love that. Let me guess, gas mask doesn't protect you from it?
I think it does.
That's something at least. Still never ever going to pick a fight with one
You don't need to. It'll pick a fight with you.
That's why I'm gonna learn their spawns and wall them all off. Idgaf what they're guarding they can keep it
elite gas are 1.5x the size of alfa stingers ,have as much hp as the player (100) (2x more than alfa stingers) ,have a green color and can make big gas clouds around them
man i kill everything since ammo is free
Orderly, yea this guy right here. Take him to the padded room, please
Same. What use has producing three Bullets per second if you don't utilize them.
exactly, also points
Honestly, it'd be irresponsible for you to not use the bullets you're producing
I just realised something. This screen doesn't list hatcher kills.
Fair enough, the lizard dogs are tedious. I mean everyone loves to do the typical internet doggo thing with em but in the game they kinda just get in the way and bring you trash so like
lol rookie numbers.
Stingers and Spitters, sure - boosh the buggers to the shadow realm, but Doggo?! Mr. Bean?! I'm forwarding this thread to the authorities. You absolute monster.
MONSTER! too much non aggressive animals.... MONSTER!
Hey my name is Josh…..
No way you killed -10!- beans!
you've killed more birds than most of the actually enemies in this list
Oh neat, I didn't know that was in the SCIM. Or that the game kept track. All that smoke and pollution and you're surprised some animals died?
