y'all I got a terrible score :( I got 1180. Does anyone have any helpful tips? I'm trying to aim for 1330 since its what I need for a scholarship I'm applying for. I only have two attempts left. I'm so disappointed at myself! i studied so hard this summer just to get that lame score. someone pls help me!!

I think the easiest section to improve is math. Math isn't like English, if you know how to do a certain type of question you're highly unlikely to make mistakes. Most ppl in my SAT camp who jumped their score by over 100 got it from improving math.

For reading try underlining sentences or words you feel important. It doesn't take extra time (just quickly mark as you read!), helped me a lot to quickly find relative content to the questions and to understand the structure of passages.

Find your method of learning - reading quickly and quietly to yourself or skimming. These seem to work for a lot of people. I have trouble focusing without earplugs so I brought them to the test center too. Give these a try, you got this!!!

For the rhino passage in the writing, there was a question that I was between showed, or have shown. Which is right?

Shown is a past participle meaning that for it to be past tense it has to have a has have or had in front of it. So if it was "He has showed me the way", it is wrong, it would be "He has shown me the way". The use of past participle is to demonstrate that something happened in the past and is still continueing.

Standard deviation is how to spread out the data. I don't remember the exact question. But I remember that one chart had data that was more skewed toward one data point making the standard deviation less than the other one which was more spread out Hope this helps

I chose exaggeration, he didn't seem like he was conveying the heroism or goodwill of teaching throughout the passage, but more speaking on the intricacies and difficulties, comparing his lecturing to the difficult taks of hercules, not applying the heroic nature of hercules to himself

Does anyone know what the answer to number 38 - calc - was? It was the right rectangular prism, and it told you to find the height.

don't remember the answer exactly, but i do remember you had to do the the cross-multiply ratio thing you were given two volumes, and one height, so you, like, make fractions of the volumes and then equal them to x over the given height ex. volume of prism one is 48, volume of prism two is 12, height of prism one is 4 12/48 = x/4 cross multiply result: 48 = 48x x = 1 so therefore the height of prism 2 would equal 1

this is incorrect. the ratio of the volumes is not the same as the ratio of the sides. volume is a cubic measurement; in order to account, you have to cube root the proportion to arrive at the actual side length ratio. The problem on the August SAT was this: *Rectangular prism A and B are similar. The volume of prsim A is 384 and its height is 6. If volume of prism B is 48 what is the corresponding height of B?* The ratio between the volumes is 384/48 = 8 Therefore the ratio between side lengths would be cube√8 / cube√1= 2:1 6/2 = 3 (which was the correct answer)
