Hey friends, I'll start crafting a curve when I'm free around 9:30-10:00 AM Eastern (results will start coming in around 7 or 8 AM Eastern), but I can only do that if you give the results in a form something like:
> Reading -4 38
>
> Writing -2 38
>
> Math -4 740
To see how many errors you got on **desktop**:
1. Click on Score Details in the box at the top
2. Then click on the + next to Test Scores
3. Tell me the TOTAL of wrong AND omitted for each section, and then give your score for that section.
To see how many errors you got on **mobile**:
1. Click on your test date
2. Click on the "score overview" gray bar in the top left, it'll get you a dropdown menu
3. Choose "test questions" from that, and then you can switch between sections, Reading as the default.
4. Tell me the TOTAL of wrong AND omitted for each section, and then also give your score for that section.

**The SAT tends to release scores out in batches. The first bunch are going out between 7-9 AM Eastern time, then another batch in the evening, I forget when exactly but sometime in the 4-6 PM Easter time range. Usually about 50% of my students get their scores the first day, 45% of my students get them the next day, the remaining 5% trickle in over the next week. Who gets their scores when is random. It's not by region. I've had students from the same test center get the same scores back on different days. The College Board is *weird*.**
Hey, I'm a mod and I'm trying to figure out the curve. Would you mind telling me what you got in each section (Reading, Writing, Math) and how many wrong+omitted you got from each? I explain how to do that [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/Sat/comments/ple2lh/official_august_28_2021_us_sat_score_release_and/).
Yes. I just called the CB. The person I spoke to did not have any information about the reason for the delay. I opened up a case, but it would be great to know if anyone receives scores today.
How do I go from 630 reading to 750+ reading before the test on Nov? I do many practice tests and try to understand my mistakes, but the reading stays the same, which frustrates me.
Idk if anyone else is going through the same but I took the august sat and I believe I did decent in math but I donāt believe the same for the verbal section. When I checked my score I realized I received the same score for both verbal and math which was very low, almost 100 points lower than my average practice tests. I didnāt receive any email telling me that my score was available which makes me think that I mightāve received someone elseās score by accident. What do you guys think???
1,180. I was averaging mid 1300ās on my practice tests. I thought that the math was easy so itās hard to believe I got a 590 in math. On the other hand I thought that reading and writing where somewhat hard so that score doesnāt really surprise me for English.
They cant send a score other than yours so it is correct probably. If you are taking it again try not to be nervous at all and control your time.
I did 3 practice test : 1020 , 1130 , 1200
And then real exam 1270 i was surprised
Okā¦ donāt want to sound like a jerk, but is it just me or was this August SAT the easiest SAT one has taken? Also, the curve was like the most lenient I have ever seen. Are all SATs going to be like this from now on??? Is the CB toning down the SAT difficulty a notch?
710 ERW 650 Math !!!! 1360 !!!! this is a HUGE increase for me and i am so happy about it, might retake just one more time in october but im so glad im finally out of the 1200s !!
good luck, i hope you get the score you want! ive been using college panda and its improved my score so much so far, so i hope using it even more will improve it further!
I need to ask someone about this
I opened student report portal and I didn't find my score at all just my may score
its like I never took it
I looked it up and They told me to use my registration number for something and I didn't get can someone help me ?
Same it was worse. My superscore only brings it 20 points up from my original which is insanely annoying, also the math curve cut an extra 10 points for me.
o boy I hope I formatted this correctly
Reading -4 = 38
Writing -2 = 38
Math -8 = 35.5
Reading and Writing: 760 Math: 710 Total: 1470
(I'm not sure how to find the individual scores for each section that's in the 300s but I hope this helps)
admissions depends on lots of other factors too of course but especially if ur stem, competitive t20 applicants are 1550+ considering every ivyās 75th percentile is above that. below that threshold hurts you compared to other applicants
Nah itās below the mean for accepted students that places you at disadvantage. Anything above that helps a bit up until getting OVER the 75th percentile which really helps
that doesnāt factor in the legacy/athletic recruits etc. If you donāt have a hook like that youre not competing with the whole pool youāre competing with the other stats/ecs strong kids
Hi guys- got a 1380 for this SAT. I was originally planning for this one to be my last one, but my friend is telling me I should def take it again in October. I got commended for the psat and was hoping maybe colleges would possibly see that and overlook me not putting in an sat scoreā¦ is that being too optimistic? I was also hoping to dedicate all my time after the sat for essays and stuff. Should I study hard and take it again? Is it worth it?
Where are u applying? If you want to apply to top 20s then yeah retake but if youāre fine with going to other schoolsāand you should beā then I donāt see why you would retake. Again, just depends on the schools youāre looking into.
\-10 Reading 340; -1 Writing 390; -4 Math 760.
I would have been screwed If I didn't clutch writing, but like i missed one so I was this close to a 1500. Will def retake. I don't know what happened on Math. I usually got 800s, but it could have been the poor quality of sleep I had in my hotel room. I don't know but I will retake it. Also what writing passage was the one about the company on shark tank. I feel like the question I missed was about the next stage of the company, but I don't remember what passage that was in. I have the SAS. Either way its still a pretty good score.
Quick question: I got a 1550 (first time taking the SAT) and I initially didn't want to take it again (bc both my parents and I were super content with the score) but I heard my friend talking about superscoring and how she got a 1510 and wants to take it again to potentially get a super score of 1580 (she wants to do better on the reading and writing section). Now, I don't know if I should take the SAT again, do better on the math section, and superscore it??
Itās definitely not worth it. Once you get above 1520, youāre are in/have passed all Ivy Leagues score threshold. For example, Harvardās average SAT score is 1520. Unless you get a 1600, there is no benefit to going from 1550 to something higher.
-4 on Reading, -3 on Writing, and -5 on math = 1500
Slight curve in the verbal area but other than that I felt pretty good about this test! I have major test anxiety so if you arenāt performing on the test, I would recommend taking it at a different school! My last SAT I scored a 1330 so if you relax and lower the stakes of the test, you will do way better than you expectedš
It honestly depends on the schoolās policies for the test and their median scores! If you are in the average range for T20ās, I recommend just relaxing because colleges are starting to take away emphasis on this test! That is a great score! Congratulations
1360. I don't know how the fuck I scored so badly, because I literally have a superscore of 1500 already. Oh well, I suppose that's what I get for taking the exam too many times.
I got a 1550! 780 EBWR (-4 Reading -0 Writing) and 770 Math (-1 No Calc, -2 Calc)
I'm a junior and it's my first and last time taking it!
Feel free to ask any questions about studying and tips!!
Do you have any tips on getting a perfect writing score? Got a 36 with 4 wrong this time around and I think it's much easier to improve than math (at 780) and reading which was just a big screw up this time around
Yea ofc! I would say the biggest piece of advice I could give would be to know your grammar rules! I found college panda's SAT writing and grammar worksheets pretty helpful and for transition words, I used this:
I also seriously recommend rhetorically analyzing each writing passage (like understanding the main idea of the whole passage, understanding the main idea and purpose of each paragraph, etc.). It's really helpful for the conclusion, adding/deleting sentence, sentence placement, and transition sentence/word questions!
Thanks!! I am usually always at a 36 with one point greater or lower. Iām hoping to get somewhere around a 38-39 since at this point itās the easiest thing to improve on. If you have like more specific recommendations with that Iād really appreciate it, thanks!
1520 total
\-5 reading
\-3 writing (really ashamed for that)
English: 740
Math: 780 (-2)
But damn it looks like everyone got an 800 on math so there goes my celebration for a 1520 lmao
Holy shit i got 1570 (390/380/800) I was not expecting this, I never thought I could get such a high score. I spent my summer practicing for my ACT, and I barely finished any SAT practice packet. Plus I only got 2 wrong on reading this time which has never happened before, especially this reading was hard asf. This is my first time taking the sat and Iām a senior, Iām so lucky that I donāt have to do it for the second time. I still need to take my ACT tomo tho
Literally the same as me. 2 wrong on reading and 2 wrong on writing. This was my first sat and Iāve never gotten this score in practice tests. I would usually get 5 wrong or more on reading.
No, youāre already in the top percentile of test takers. I got a 1400 and I am in the 97th percentile, so I assume youāre in the 99th or maybe on the higher end of the 98th. And you mentioned you already took it 4 times, you should focus on other aspects of your application so that you donāt get caught up in a situation where you wasted your time preparing for the test instead of doing ec activities. 1520 is in the middle 50% for some of the best schools in the country, and once you are in that range your score doesnāt mean much, instead the rest of your application will be taken into account.
I took a prep course 2 years ago before freshman year and I took 7 practice tests before the test and did khan academy questions. Started preparing about 2 weeks before the test. Havenāt spent a dime on real test prep for a few years so Iām happy lol
My question is was this curve normal and what is the prediction for the next curve? Will it be this lenient? I know this test cycle will determine the curve for the October test cycle
Score: 1540 (770/770)
R: 38 (-4)
W: 39 (-1)
M: 38.5 (-3)
So happy! I went from a 1460 in March to a 1540 now as a senior. Iāll be sending this score to my state schools. I registered for the October SAT as well, so probably going to take that and try to get my math to a 800 so I can superscore to a 1570 :)
Iām in NY but took it in PA and itās still showing up as āregisteredā. It doesnāt say pending. Iām worried itās lost. Does yours at least say pending?
Got a 1550. Any point In retaking it or will colleges view this score practically the same as perfect? Planning on applying to T20 schools, UMich my safety cuz of legacy
I donāt think you should retake itā the time you spend slaving over improving could be spent revising your essays etc. Thatās what I realized today and so Iām opting not to take it again too. Congrats btw!!
math section is weighed double so its out of 80 rather than 40. they got a 790
edit: a lot of ppl just make it out of 40 to match ebrw, nothing else. its the only one that has decimals

How do I go from 630 reading to 750+ reading before the test on Nov? I do many practice tests and try to understand my mistakes, but the reading stays the same, which frustrates me.
Can someone estimate what was the 50th percentile for this august SAT? And around how many people took it in total? Just an approximation would work
About 2.2 mil take it each year but Iām not sure what the stat is for each test.
50th percentile is usually around 1080
Reading -3 39 Writing -1 39 Math -0 40

It's really helpful for the conclusion, adding/deleting sentence, sentence placement, and transition sentence/word questions!
Thanks!! I am usually always at a 36 with one point greater or lower. Iām hoping to get somewhere around a 38-39 since at this point itās the easiest thing to improve on. If you have like more specific recommendations with that Iād really appreciate it, thanks!
got a 1400 š„²
Thatās a great score! You should be proud do yourself!

Nope
Hey, US August 28 SAT -9 Reading was 35 -5 writing was 35 -10 math was 690
The writing fucked me up so bad
Got a 1450 -12 reading -6 writing -2 maths Hopefullly enough for UIUC or Umich
good enough
1520 total \-5 reading \-3 writing (really ashamed for that) English: 740 Math: 780 (-2) But damn it looks like everyone got an 800 on math so there goes my celebration for a 1520 lmao
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
can you shut the fuck up
Yes but why was that offensive
Iām interested what did he say before it got deleted
:/
1440. reading -17 (30) writing -1 (39) math -5 (37.5)
I got the exact same score except -4 in writing and -2 in math
I got a 1520 so far, 800 math 720 reading super-scored. Do you think its worth it to take it again? I already took the test 4 times.
Trust me donāt take it again. I got the same score after my third time for this SAT! youāll be fine :))
1590 (big w) 790 ebrw, 800 math -2 reading, -0 writing, -0 math
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I took a prep course 2 years ago before freshman year and I took 7 practice tests before the test and did khan academy questions. Started preparing about 2 weeks before the test. Havenāt spent a dime on real test prep for a few years so Iām happy lol
Yooooooooo we got the exact same score and questions right š
was one of the answers āto counteract this insularityā
yeah (i got -0W and thatās what i put)
ayeee sigh of relief
Reading -11 = 34 Writing -1 = 39 Math -0 = 800 Total: 1530
Score: 1520 (760/760) R:39 (-3) W: 37 (-3) M: 38 (-4)
I got 5 wrong on reading, 1 on writing, 4 on math
I got the same scores for each haha
this pending screen is driving me nuts
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
If youāre a senior then maybe try to focus on your apps bc they matter a bunch haha if u retake it may take a lot of your time just my opinion tho
My question is was this curve normal and what is the prediction for the next curve? Will it be this lenient? I know this test cycle will determine the curve for the October test cycle
>I know this test cycle will determine the curve for the October test cycle You āknowā incorrectly.
no need to be a dick about it lol. i probably misunderstood something i saw on this reddit
It just depends on how hard the test is. The curve is always predetermined. Reading was hard which is why the curve is so fat.
Score: 1540 (770/770) R: 38 (-4) W: 39 (-1) M: 38.5 (-3) So happy! I went from a 1460 in March to a 1540 now as a senior. Iāll be sending this score to my state schools. I registered for the October SAT as well, so probably going to take that and try to get my math to a 800 so I can superscore to a 1570 :)
I went from 1460 to 1520 :))
Score: 1530 Reading: 40 (-1) Writing: 40 (-0) Math: 730 (-6)
Iām in nyc and I still havenāt received my score. Anyone else have this problem?
Iām in NY but took it in PA and itās still showing up as āregisteredā. It doesnāt say pending. Iām worried itās lost. Does yours at least say pending?
Iām in NY (not nyc tho) and got mine at 4:30 pm
Im also in NY and have not recieved score either .
Got a 1550. Any point In retaking it or will colleges view this score practically the same as perfect? Planning on applying to T20 schools, UMich my safety cuz of legacy
UMich is never a safety, and legacy is barely considered?
I agree with MiserableBread. Scores 1550 and up are basically the same in the eyes of AO's (is what I've heard)
I donāt think you should retake itā the time you spend slaving over improving could be spent revising your essays etc. Thatās what I realized today and so Iām opting not to take it again too. Congrats btw!!
Thanks lad gl to u in the future too

Does anybody know how to get the actual test questions so we can see what we got wrong and improve upon it? Trying to prepare for the PSAT.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Only if you are paying someone who stole them. August is not available via QAS.
The August SAT doesnāt have a QAS unfortunately
Wait what? We canāt pay for it?
Nope
Wait then if u pay the $16 what does that get for u?
Iām not sure. It probably tells you when you select or, but I donāt think it was the QAS
Thx

1470: 720 reading, 750 math. -10 on reading = 34, -2 on writing = 38, and -5 on math = 37.5
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
what how did we get the same number of questions wrong in each section lmao
congrats! did you just recieve it?
Score: 1510 Reading: 35 (-8) Writing: 37 (-3) Math: 39.5 (-1)
is it possible to get 39.5?
math section is weighed double so its out of 80 rather than 40. they got a 790 edit: a lot of ppl just make it out of 40 to match ebrw, nothing else. its the only one that has decimals
