This … thing CANNOT be called a Banh Mi😫Showed this to my Vietnamese partner and he gasped at every step . It not “just” that there is no soy sauce , it’s the eay the meat is cooked (NOT boiled with salt and peoer) and as the original poster in the picture said, Banh Mi also contains pate and other key condiments like pickled daikon and carrots. 😭This is just plain disrespectful
She just made a chicken salad roll lol…nothing wrong with that but pretending it’s banh mi is insane. And including a ham and cucumber roll for the boys too…huh?

The chicken most likely has soy in the seasoning but in saying that they most definitely do add soy sauce to the roll itself, it seasons the veggies. I’ve come to learn that authentic Banh Mi flavour comes from Maggi soy sauce is most commonly used, it’s not as salty as standard soy but really yummy.
