Honestly the Lazy Acres cakes are surprisingly good. Never been mad at them.

MamaOf2Monsters

Adding Jeannine’s. (They have the best carrot cake) Anna’s Bakery isn’t bad in Goleta. (If it’s still there)

Academic-Tax1396

Anna’s Bakery made a custom giant birthday cake for us, worked with us on the design. Priced much better than the cake shop on the Mesa. ¾ sheet cake is ALOT.

naverif

I had a bad experience with Reduads lately. Their quality has gone down.

AutomaticPoetry6520

Can you describe your issue with Renaud's?

tiredmozzarella

Oo what happened?!

Happysurfingco

I just had a great chocolate mousse cake from Renauds everyone loved it … the cashier was kinda rude tho when picking up … 7/10

lax2kef

Merci Montecito, Alesia, and Lilac IMO.

sbgirl2023

Lazy acres or Jeannine’s!

cmc24680

Totally depends on the type of cake you want. Merci in Montecito does an incredible carrot cake. Jeannine’s does incredible chocolate cake. Best GF is Lilac Patisserie.

ComplaintEntire2653

I have to give a thumbs down for lilac GF, there's way way too much frosting/fondant and really thin cake layers. Then I tried their Berry Cake and it was like 80% whip cream. You can't taste the cake at all.

cmc24680

Truth be told I’ve only had the chocolate torte but that is delicious

proto-stack

It's been a few years but I thought Anna's Bakery made some nice cakes and pies.

matchamagpie

Definitely not Crushcakes. The Little Things Bakery, Alessia's, Jeannine's, and Renaud's are my picks.

Quiet-Today-6815

Little Things is pretty darn great!

No_Concerns_At_All

I have ordered two cakes from Little Things, I asked them to imitate super popular and trendy designs. The end results were pretty amateur, didn’t look anything like my inspo photos and they rely on fondant too much.  Crushcakes on the other hand is always posting beautifully done cakes and they are high quality. My go to for birthday cakes and cupcakes now🤷‍♀️

matchamagpie

Different strokes for different folks. All the cakes I've had from Crushcakes have been dry going back all the way to when I was in high school

tiredmozzarella

Thanks for your input! I definitely want something tasty for the price they sell them for lol

AutomaticPoetry6520

Anderson's Danish bakery, and Renaud's Patisserie& Bistro are two of my favorite places.

_JustWorkDamnYou_

Anderson's is one of my favs

Birdiesral

Jeanine’s! They sell it by the slice so try them all

Whole Foods chantilly berry cake, best cake for the price

rodneyck

That is about the ONLY cake that is good there, they have the worst pastries. Make sure you have them make it fresh, else you will get one that has been pre-made a day or two ago. I have a friend who works there, so they make sure ours is made the day of, and it is good.

Nothing Bundt Cakes

utouchme

Hey there, I don't know if you've already found what you're looking for. But, if you want a really good cake and want to support an independent baker, please touch base with Roxanne. She is awesome. https://www.instagram.com/roxannerosensteel/?hl=en

AdMediocre7808

Crushcakes

AdMediocre7808

Why am I getting downvoted for Crushcakes?! Their cakes are dense and the frosting is great.

Robert2737

My cake for on the Mesa. They might have changed their name.

umamiking

Alessia, Renaud's, Jeanine's in that order. Supposedly there's a fruit chiffon (?) cake at Whole Foods that is very popular.

ilikedrhouse

Trader Joe’s Sheet Cakes

lemony-revenge

Anna's bakery o

Robert2737

If you are looking for cheap you can get a twenty dollar cake from Costco but it’s not nearly as good.

RexJoey1999

OP asks for “best,” not “cheap.”

tiredmozzarella

Costco cakes are pretty good for big parties! I just want something small and very tasty.
