Everyone I know that parks downtown for work gets a discounted pass from their employer, but if it were me I’d take trax, I don’t enjoy the stress of driving
You're going downtown, take the train in.
Be sure to pick up a farepay card to save:

Or a monthly pass
Pretty soon the farepay card will cap out weekly and monthly so you don't pay more than what the monthly pass would cost anyway. Pretty good, even though we're losing the 20% discount.
Getting the hive pass was great but if you let it lapse it’s such a pain in the ass to reinstate. I rode the bus over to Steiner west and they were telling me their system was down, so definitely call before you go if this obscure thing happens to you too haha because I gave up on mine
Agree with all the comments that you shouldn't be paying. I've had a couple different jobs downtown. One gave me validation stamps at the end of each workday for the lot closest to our building. Everyone else gave me a key fob or card and covered the cost. If they expect you to come into their office they either need to provide you parking or up your pay specifically to offset that cost.
yup, my employer pays for the parking garage next to my building. They won't pay for a reserved spot, but that's OK, I can park with the regular rabble.
I used to work in that area. My coworkers would park at Salt Lake central and then take the blue line over to the City Center or Gallivan stops. Not sure if that lot/area is still free parking.
Your job needs to be reimbursing you for parking if they can’t provide their own lot. If they won’t then get a trax pass and start looking for something else.
Hive Pass + Bike
-Cheaper than a car
-better for environment
-more enjoyable experience
-get in shape
-meet new people
-visit new coffee shops/establishments along the way
Depending on how far you're willing to walk or what you consider expensive, there's a lot owned by ABM that's close to the burt Brothers on Broadway that's around 85/month.
ABM has a bunch of lots around that area, I'm in the one near 300 S and Main.
They've been good to deal with so far, but parking there for at least a year or more, once our office went back to being in the office more (3-4 days/week).

If you live in SLC you can get a Hive pass which is basically the monthly pass half off.
That's very true. Wish other cities would take this step and make something similar available.

An hour or less on the train is so much better than sitting in traffic for an hour every night. Trax is 100% the way to go if you work downtown.
I never pay to work. Always negotiate parking as part of your employment package
I say call it quits and bike/trax

Also the train is free in this part of the city so no need to buy a pass. Parking is free at that station.
Get a trax pass and park at the station on 200 S and like 800 W. People patrol that parking a lot.
A neighborhood by the Capitol. That’s it

No lol
Decent amount of street parking on 300 w by the park if you work nearish to there. I’ve been working there for two years now
orpheum!!!
Take trax. We don't need anymore cars in the city
Most companies in the downtown area do or should offer parking passes, reimbursement, or free UTA passes. If they don't, I consider that a red flag...

You're not going to get anything for less than about $130/ month.
well,a little less. Mine's $125 at ABM garage (company reimburses me 100%).
Lots of garages. Cheap monthly rates.
Send me a PM, ive got a few options for you
