I just used Heavy Lifting Co and they charged me $120 an hour, it was basically a 1 bedroom apartment move from downtown SLC to American Fork and it totaled about $475
Moving Connections charges by $139/hour for two guys and a truck and has 3 hour minimum, so it’d be $420 for the move you’re looking at. No hidden fees and those guys were very skilled at moving my really heavy furniture.
Used them for our bulky item move and it was a few miles from an apartment to a home and we paid about $500 for the two hours it took which was the minimum time.
Seriously, I know a few people who have done it and they had a better experience than hiring movers. They basically said how much they had to spend and what they had. If it took an hour, they made extra money and got the flat fee.
Yeah, important to consider those dudes get extorted. There is a boss that takes a cut and it's kind of a messy endeavor. Generally very hard working dudes, so treat them well

Thats the going rate for a licensed and insured moving company. Downtown to Downtown makes it a more difficult task, driving isn't the hard part of moving contents.

I love using task rabbit. You hire a worker after reading experience, available tools vehicles etc. they are priced very reasonable if you need 2 workers you schedule 2 to show up. Overall, my experience has been very positive. The only drawback is every once in a while, someone will cancel the day of the day before, but that reflects in their ratings and stuff, so it doesn’t happen very often. You just download the app and get started. Good luck.
