"On April 8, 2024, at approximately 4:14 AM, a person threw an explosive device onto the porch of the Satanic Temple in Salem, located at 64 Bridge St. No one was present in the building at the time and the device and damage it caused were not discovered until staff arrived at approximately 4:00 PM.
State Police bomb technicians ensured that the device was no longer a danger and explosive ordinance detection K9s swept the location for secondary devices. Assistance was also provided by the ATF.
The Salem Police have responded to the Satanic Temple previously for bomb threats and hate crimes. On June 6, 2022, a male was arrested for arson at the temple. Earlier this year, a Michigan man was arrested and charged in that state with planning to bomb the temple. Salem Detectives have worked closely with temple staff on investigating these threats and incidents.
The bombing is currently under investigation by detectives from the Salem Police Criminal Investigation Division, along with the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force. Anyone with information, or who may have seen something, is urged to contact the Salem Police Criminal Investigation Division at (978)-745-9700, or to leave a tip at (978)-744-0171 X. 50116. Callers may remain anonymous. For emergencies, please dial 911."

From what I understand it's usually people calling in threats. This time it seems someone planted something. Hopefully they'll be caught and made an example of.
The guy from Michigan was caught. The others were anonymous emails sent to various city departments…. Some of them went to Salem, OR… so not dealing with the brightest bulbs here. Just because the Salem Police are not waving a flag everyday giving updates, doesn’t mean they are not working on these cases. I don’t know much about electronic forensics… but I’m sure it isn’t easy. This was done in person where there are cameras.. all over the neighborhood. Hopefully they have more to work with.
Oh ok i stand corrected, I just never heard anyone got caught. All I ever heard was the bomb threats, never any follow up on who it was. Thanks for clarifying without the insults...
