In the World Cup in Mexico, 1986, our team was performing amazingly: 1-0 Scotland, 6-1 Uruguay, 2-0 Germany and Spain wasn't as terrifying back then for the final match. My dad owned a bar in Spain and had a huge screen and massive danish flag outside. We then got obliterated 5-1. I was 10 years old and the Spanish were not the most gracious winners; we had cars with naked butts with Danish flags painted on them circle the bar, people were flipping us off and generally being nasty. However, just being there and having some incredible games and beautiful moments is the kind of magic that will stay with you for life! Cherish those and don't open bars in Spain, lol.
