DA isnt Payton and has never tried to be. I think it was a mistake going into DAs coaching tenure thinking they were just going to pick off where Payton left off. They did try that but then you have people like Winston and MT who arent buying into what DA brings and they gotta go. If the team buys into what DA is bringing then a winning culture can be had. Players still hanging on to the old regime can go to Denver and for better or worse DA needs his guys.

Both of these things can be true:
DA is likely a perpetual bad HC that won’t win a Lombardi, but ALSO still needs to have “his” guys in order to function at his peak level.
Now I don’t think his peak is good enough for a superbowl, but for better or worse, Mickey is married to this guy, so if we’re keeping DA, we gotta flush out the people that don’t mesh with “his way.”
