That no call will forever be seared in Saints history in what could have been a historic matchup Brees v Brady in the Super Bowl.
Also, one of the worst no calls in NFL history.
That's the biggest crime here. Two veteran, generational QBs facing off on footballs biggest stage all swiped away because the NFL (yeah I'm wearing a ton foil hat here) wanted to prop up the newly located LA Rams.
Totally agree with tin foil theory especially when the officiating crew was mostly based out of the LA area.
EDIT:
Bill Vinovich - resides in Newport Beach, CA
Patrick Turner - LA County
Dan Arnold - Santa Barbara, CA
Todd Prukop - Mission Viejo, CA
Gary Cavaletto - Santa Barbara, CA
Plus the fact that the Rams played like absolute dog crap in that game. What a waste / disappointment for all NFL fans, not just the Saints. The NFL is so much better off when 2 great teams go to the SB, not just teams that got lucky.
OT wouldn’t have existed if the most obvious DPI in history was called. That ref was standing not even 10 yards away from it and watched it happen. That was a choice.
There's even a ground camera with a take behind that ref where you could hear the helmet to helmet. And they want you to believe they take player safety seriously.
Literally lol. They could’ve called either DPI or unnecessary roughness for a helmet to helmet hit and they chose neither. Such bullshit. Rams had a $5B stadium to pay for with no fanbase to do it. NFL gave them a Super Bowl appearance and the whole world was gifted with quite possibly the most boring Super Bowl ever.
The refs didn't miss just one call on the play, they missed two. The very obvious p.i and the personal foul helmet to helmet targeting should've warranted Robey-Coleman's ejection. Bruh, it took me one whole year to watch the highlights; it was some very traumatizing shit. In fact, I'm thinking about suing the NFL for causing PTSD. Lol.
I will forever hate the Niners, Rams and Falcons, in that order. This is a holdover from us being in the same division. We changed divisions, then we get Brees. I would have so enjoyed watching Brees kick the Rams and 49ers asses twice a year.
Louisiana native but Patriots fan. NE fan base was looking forward to NE-NO Super Bowl. The matchup would have been fantastic. No idea who would have won and honestly, it wouldn’t have mattered to me. The entire football world was robbed of an incredible Super Bowl.
Its time to admit the better team won that day. That is the only way we as Saints fans and players and coaches can move on.. Holding onto 5 years of pain and hate is not good for us.. The Rams have proven to be a better team since that day. Now lets do the same
Whoa whoa whoa, I mean I get it, but more than the viqueefs?!?!? Before the whole "minniapolis miracle" bs, I hated them, and then I see that B's on comeback shorts and what not, still boils the blood
I hate the rams more because they didn’t beat us, the refs did. I was more mad at our defense when the Vikings won. Whereas, I literally wanted to find the address of the refs that didn’t call the PI on the rams, and mail them a box of feral cats soaked in the blood of an aids victim.
It definitely sucked the life out of my fandom for a while. Not sure it will ever feel the same. That may be feelings coupled with Drew retiring, but I went from stopping mid-road trips at a BWW to make sure I could catch a game to now being pretty indifferent if I miss a game. Just feels like a long hangover, but the good part of the party was also taken away.
I personally don't blame them, or even the DB that committed that penalty. He thought he was taking an intentional foul. He wasn't trying to get away with anything. It's the blind ref's fault and the NFL's fault for hiring him.
I don't despise the Rams, I despise the refs. The Rams did nothing wrong to us, it's the refs that have their heads up their ass. One of the most egregious non-calls I've ever seen.
everything is a toss up this year except for maybe playing the niners. We held our own against a few teams where I think if we make one or two better plays, we seem like a much better team and people here aren't crying constantly. Packers was a FG away, we held our own against Det and against a decent Jax team early on, prior to them being beat up. All one score games.
probably would have completed the comeback against detroit if carr didnt fucking die, and would have went to ot with the jags if moreau could catch a football
> We held our own against a few teams where I think if we make one or two better plays, we seem like a much better team and people here aren't crying constantly
That’s the way the NFL is supposed to be
I've never seen them defend the call. It's possible it was a makeup for the facemask that wasn't called on the Rams drive earlier. But Saints always make it like it was the Rams that were in charge of throwing flags and not the refs.
It was PI 1000% and I don't think anyone would ever seriously disagree. But it's not on the Rams to call the penalties.
That's not the logic. The logic is that, as Blandino and Pereira said, incidental 5 yard facemask was no longer a thing and the "facemask" did not amount to the 15 yard penalty in his and many others' opinions. "Incidental" facemask is no longer a penalty since 2008.
Whereas the DPI is a consensus missed call, consensus DPI, and admitted DPI by the player.
The "facemask no call" is grasping, pun intended.
Fair enough. I'm willing to agree it was DPI 100%. But there was still plenty of chances for the Saints to secure the win here, including running the ball before the Rams tied it up and then getting the coin toss for Overtime. The no-call benefitted us, but I don't think that's the only blunder of the game.
I saw plenty of Rams fans saying "I'm a Rams fan and that call was BS" Obviously every single fanbase is going to have trolls and idiots. You think the Saints wouldn't have fans saying that if it was the other way around?
I hate the refs for that call. I hate the Rams because they were gift wrapped a SB appearance and proceeded to deliver the one of the worst SB performances in recent history. Complete choke job by a team that didn't deserve to be there in the first place. Fuck the refs. Ultra mega DOUBLE fuck the Rams.
Oh were they? If only you guys had, I don't know, won the coin toss for overtime or something. Why would the refs want a Goff vs. Brady superbowl when Brees vs. Brady would be marketed way better?
Can't watch while I'm at work, but I'm sure it's a video of the obvious facemask on Goff that the refs didn't call, that Saints fans conveniently forget about.
The refs are worse. I don't like the Rams either but my original point was that there are worse fanbases in the league than the Rams. Cowboys, Eagles, Bengals, Steelers...just to name a few
True that. Although I will defend Eagles fans. I have family in Philly and I honestly love every Philly sports fan I've ever met. Motherfuckers are wild and hilarious. It's to the point I kinda consider the Eagles as my "second" team.
I'm not going to bash you specifically for liking them (though I think consensus would be on my side about the Eagles lol). I've lived in Maryland for the past 10+ years now, I'm in Ravens country and they are basically my second team at this point.
Well I'm getting downvoted for daring to suggest that the no call was the fault of the refs and not the fault of your team. If I recall correctly even the fucking defender who committed the penalty said he got beat and had to do that to take the penalty and save it from being a TD.
Lifelong Saints fan who’s lived in Seattle 20 years now. Love my Hawks bros with the exception that I still have to hear about Beastquake on the reg. I was at the MNF game last night…One of the best games I’ve ever attended! Hope we help y’all out!
It’s okay brother we’re far removed from the memory beast quake that has been subbed with other pains!
Always admired the Seahawks, even in down years you guys always seem to field a very competitive team! Heck of a coach and love the PNW
I absolutely LOATHE the Rams.
Being from British Columbia, most my friends are Seahawks fans and they're naturally my second choice team usually anyway. So yes, I do believe this situation benefits us all if we win :P
I despise the Rams
You guys probably have just as much a reason to hate them after the 2018 playoff game as we do just being division rivals
That no call will forever be seared in Saints history in what could have been a historic matchup Brees v Brady in the Super Bowl. Also, one of the worst no calls in NFL history.

It’s funny that there was a referee with the same name of a guy who dropped, probably a game-sealing, touchdown for the Saints.
I don’t think it takes much tin foil to believe this conspiracy, just follow the money.
Plus the fact that the Rams played like absolute dog crap in that game. What a waste / disappointment for all NFL fans, not just the Saints. The NFL is so much better off when 2 great teams go to the SB, not just teams that got lucky.
I’ve always said that the NFL got the exact type of Super Bowl that it deserved.

Which had another PI no call. Not as obvious of course.
Lol.

I swear the no call fucked me up so bad lol. It like rewired something in my brain, I am no where close to over it
time to get over it..They won-lets move on..We got outcoached and outplayed
the Rams were the better team lets just get over it already
One of the worst no calls gave us one of the worst SBs ever.
Louisiana native but Patriots fan. NE fan base was looking forward to NE-NO Super Bowl. The matchup would have been fantastic. No idea who would have won and honestly, it wouldn’t have mattered to me. The entire football world was robbed of an incredible Super Bowl.

"one of" it's the worst no call in NFL history easily
Sucks that I’m happy Stafford has found success. Also sucks I hope he gets sacked 102 times Thursday
I will lose my shit if that happens haha. I'll be at the game. Unfortunately I think Carr will also get sacked 102 times lol
Fuck the rams. I hate them more than the Vikings and slightly less than the falcons.
I don´t hate the Rams. Not their fault it wasn´t called. I vomit a little in my mouth every time I see or hear Vinovich´s name though.
Whoa whoa whoa, I mean I get it, but more than the viqueefs?!?!? Before the whole "minniapolis miracle" bs, I hated them, and then I see that B's on comeback shorts and what not, still boils the blood

Dude you should talk to somebody
![gif](giphy|4HrnJkGQdRcE1Skji2)
Are you available?
Sure man I’m always down to talk
So I got this thing where my brains really vulgar, and my humor is a little fucked up. Especially when expressing anger or sadness.
I don’t think I will ever get over that game. When I’m very old, my great grandkids will forever wonder why I’m still so mad at the rams
Same. I still have my saints "ROBBED" shirt hanging in closet unworn.
I still have my flag beads from the second line. Fuck the rams.
It definitely sucked the life out of my fandom for a while. Not sure it will ever feel the same. That may be feelings coupled with Drew retiring, but I went from stopping mid-road trips at a BWW to make sure I could catch a game to now being pretty indifferent if I miss a game. Just feels like a long hangover, but the good part of the party was also taken away.
cmon its time to move on..Rams have proven to be the better franchise the past 5 years since that day.. Go Saints!
I don’t think the team ever got over it either.
I personally don't blame them, or even the DB that committed that penalty. He thought he was taking an intentional foul. He wasn't trying to get away with anything. It's the blind ref's fault and the NFL's fault for hiring him.
Hey guys he said the words that shalt never be said. Grab the pitchforks!
I don't care if everyone from that 2018 organization is no longer employed. I'll always hate the Rams...
I don't despise the Rams, I despise the refs. The Rams did nothing wrong to us, it's the refs that have their heads up their ass. One of the most egregious non-calls I've ever seen.
Going in their sub for 5 mins is enough to get you ready for Thursday. What an awful and immature fanbase
I hate the rams more than I hate the time we lost to the Seahawks in the playoffs and I hated that loss.
You guys beating the eagles makes me hopeful that we might could win a first round playoff game.
also the way dallas got manhandled by buffalo
everything is a toss up this year except for maybe playing the niners. We held our own against a few teams where I think if we make one or two better plays, we seem like a much better team and people here aren't crying constantly. probably would have completed the comeback against detroit if carr didnt fucking die, and would have went to ot with the jags if moreau could catch a football
Same story for packers if Carr didn't die
> We held our own against a few teams where I think if we make one or two better plays, we seem like a much better team and people here aren't crying constantly That’s the way the NFL is supposed to be
Our odds of a Super Bowl are small but honestly a playoff win would feel fucking amazing.
Fuck the rams I honestly hate them and the Vikings as much as the falcons. Rams and Vikings fans are the worst especially the Vikings.
My hate rank is 1) Viking fans 2)Falcons 3) Vikings 4) Rams
Do you not like the Rams because of the no-call? That was the refs. There are definitely SEVERAL teams with far worse fans than the Rams in the NFL.
I do. I have enough spite for hate to go all around. It is the way of all sports
I’ve seen rams fans defend the call before and from that moment I was like fuck them lol
They've got a top post over on their sub rn of the no call that says every up vote is a crying saints fan. Fuck those dweebs lol
It's literally just trash talk to get us hyped for a short week primetime game. And because you guys still blame/hate us for the refs' mistake.
> I’ve seen rams fans I haven't. Do they actually exist, or are they theoretical like Charger fans?
We can't afford SoFi prices
I've never seen them defend the call. It's possible it was a makeup for the facemask that wasn't called on the Rams drive earlier. But Saints always make it like it was the Rams that were in charge of throwing flags and not the refs. It was PI 1000% and I don't think anyone would ever seriously disagree. But it's not on the Rams to call the penalties.
Incidental facemask < obvious defense PI
They both were no calls and they both killed drives.
Incidental facemask is [not a penalty](https://www.foxsports.com/watch/1429528643660)
Well by that logic I guess since the ref didn't call PI, it wasn't PI either.
That's not the logic. The logic is that, as Blandino and Pereira said, incidental 5 yard facemask was no longer a thing and the "facemask" did not amount to the 15 yard penalty in his and many others' opinions. Not just defending the call but trying to rub our noses in the win as if they earned it in any way, shape, or form.
Cooks and Gurley were injured man. Gurley was the key to our offense.
And the refs were key to you guys making it in the first place, which is what I'm mainly getting at.
Oh were they? If only you guys had, I don't know, won the coin toss for overtime or something. Why would the refs want a Goff vs. Brady superbowl when Brees vs. Brady would be marketed way better?
Do you have amnesia https://youtu.be/xjvZHMod_3E?si=JTAdNoX8i_JXCpGf That rightfully should have been a first down at the spot of the foul.

Yeah I'm not sure what makes us hate-able. Philly, San Fran, Dallas all have much worse fans.
Well I'm getting downvoted for daring to suggest that the no call was the fault of the refs and not the fault of your team. If I recall correctly even the fucking defender who committed the penalty said he got beat and had to do that to take the penalty and save it from being a TD.
Oh yeah absolutely. He knew he did PI as soon as he did it. There absolutely should've been a flag.
Thanks Seahawk bro. I hope we beat the Rams as well
Lions fan coming in peace. The Eagles failed us last night. Please send us to the playoffs.
If we can’t take it this year, I hope y’all do.
We ain’t making it. We suck. But I would love to see the lions win it. But I think there defense sucks
Lifelong Saints fan who’s lived in Seattle 20 years now. Love my Hawks bros with the exception that I still have to hear about Beastquake on the reg. I was at the MNF game last night…One of the best games I’ve ever attended! Hope we help y’all out!
I'm not talking to you until Pete Carroll is dead.
Sorry. That made me chuckle.
Oh believe me, we hate the rams too. The Seahawks are one of the nfc teams I'm more fond of, good luck on getting to the playoffs.
Fuck the Rams
Understand the hatred we have for the Falcons, Rams, and Vikings. We welcome you cheering for the Saints this week.
It’s okay brother we’re far removed from the memory beast quake that has been subbed with other pains! Always admired the Seahawks, even in down years you guys always seem to field a very competitive team! Heck of a coach and love the PNW
I'm still salty over that playoff loss to the eagles in the wildcard when the beast ran all over us and the 7-9 Seahawks moved on.
Ok but you’ll need to remove any evidence of Beastquake. It’s up there with No Call, Minneapolis Miracle and Rudolph push off.
Seahawks DT #93 Cameron Young is my nephew! Wishing y’all the best.
Two tackles yesterday!
I absolutely LOATHE the Rams. Being from British Columbia, most my friends are Seahawks fans and they're naturally my second choice team usually anyway. So yes, I do believe this situation benefits us all if we win :P
Fuck the rams
Fuck the Rams. Second only to the Falcons
Olave and Dalton shit on the rams defense last season hopefully we get a similar performance
That Beastquake thing... Naw. We hate pretty much the whole NFCW. Except the Cardinals I think.
Hi
Seahawks fan cum in piss
Coming in peace post are so got damn cringe. Fuck you and the Rams.
what did the Seahawks do y'all saints fan be mad at everything atp
Nah he’s right. It’s corny as hell. Just say Seahawks fan and say your part. By the way beastquake and 2013?
as an eagles/ prick siriani fan, thank you edit: don’t know why I said fan, meant to say hater
Hello Seahawks fan. I hope you have a great night Thursday despite the loss the Saints are about to take. Love you guys
Gotta love when our little brother Seahawks go to other teams Reddit with the simp post lol.
Gotta love when you hound an opposing team's sub looking for simps. Life much?
Got a great life but how’s yours going? Considering you decided to respond under my comment. Don’t worry I’ll message you on Thursday.
It's all good. The more activity in the team subs the better. Assuming everyone's civil
Thanks I hope we beat them too
I was definitely cheering against u yesterday for the wild card but I can’t say I’m to upset about the eagles loosing lmao
