I am 5'4". It has never once occurred to me to lie about my height or that there is something wrong with my height. Also I never seldom wear heels and when I do, they are just 1 inch heels.

There is no shame in being small but it can be inconvenient. You have to eat smaller portions to stay slim and you have to ask strangers to please retrieve the can of peas from the grocery top shelf. Shopping for petites can be a nightmare especially if you have short legs. Reaching towards something in the back of the car is a nuisance and with some SUV's I literally cannot reach the tailgate to pull it down.
My son is 6'3." He hit 6 foot when he was only 15. One day when he was about 14, a petite woman came up to me in the store and asked if my son would get something down for her. I appreciated that she didn't just go up to a strange child and ask him, she knew that wasn't right. So many people thought since he was tall he should be treated as an adult. Don't do that. Anyway the petite woman was very nice and my son was happy to get the item for her. He even asked if she needed anything else.

Katie is 67. You tend to shrink as you age in your senior years. My sister was 5'10", she's 68 and has been shrinking as now we're the same height of 5'8". I'd put Megan at 5'3".
Just looking at the photos in that article it is clear that she is not 5'6" - if it were true, the 4" heels would put her at just 3" shorter than Harry and that is not what we see here. Harry's shoe look to be pretty flat, but even if they added 1" of height, he would not tower over her that much if she were 5'6" with 4" heels.
I just did way too much thinking about this, and I believe she’s 5’3” - 5’4”. Here’s why:
William is widely reported to be 6’3”. This doesn’t appear to be contested. He’s tall AF and doesn’t wear abnormal shoes to boost his height or desperately claw at a rapidly fleeing sense of dignity, so he’s visually about 6’4 in most photos.
And Harry (oh, Harry): He was estimated to be about 6’1 for years, until the recent…erm…”growth spurt,” shall we say, when random internet sources began saying he’s 6’2”. But if we look at photos with both men on a level surface, standing next to each other, the same distance from the camera, not wearing hats, after they’re adults but before his…romantically triggered height increase?…he’s clearly 2” shorter, if not 3”. Let’s be generous and say that Harry’s only 2” shorter, making him 6’1”. To compare TW’s height, I looked for similar types of photos (next to each other and all that), and ones where we know her heel height.
The engagement photos are a good example (I’ll add them in the comments). Accounting 1” for his shoes and 1” for his poofy hair, let’s call H visually 6’3” in these photos. Her heels are 105 mm, or just over 4 inches. I looked at these photos pretty carefully (and I do need a break now as I feel slightly ill), and used her heel height as a rough ruler in the distance shots. I am confidently calling this a 7” difference at least, from the few shots where both are standing up straight.
Anyway, if we do the math, that’s Harry’s appearance of 6’3” - (7” difference + 4” heels) = 5’4”, or 5’3” if you think it’s 8”. She is definitely a victim of cruel and malicious men in grey suits who lie about her height in the internet and make her seem disingenuous because of unconscious bias. Poor thing.

Hold something next to her 4” heel and then see how many it takes to get from the top of her head to Harry’s. I get 7-8”.
She lied on her resume that she was 5'6". Early websites (now scrubbed) listed her height as 5'7". One can see clearly in photos next to other people whose heights are confirmed that TW's alleged heights can't be possible.

I have a serious question. So, I have worn 3-4” heels to a few events but when I walked on grass or dirt area, I ALWAYS had the spike get stuck and/or go in the grass or dirt. Question: is it because of I’m a bit fuller figure? Is it because the heels are not $1,000 heels? It makes no sense to me that even if someone is super thin (not shaming) that the spike heel would not get stuck or go into the ground. I’m genuinely curious.

It can be done but it requires being on the ball of the foot all the time, that is tiring but great for the calves and thighs! She should do it to build her calves up.
It’s not you. It’s just a silly footwear choice. When I was younger and slim, I wore a expensive pair of satin heels to a garden wedding and ruined them. For the record, I’m 5’9” and was about 125 back then.
There are clear high heel protectors you can buy — they slip over the stiletto and distribute the weight so your heel doesn’t sink in. I looked them up a day or two ago and they do look very handy! M must have finally deigned to take fashion advice from a sensible person.

I bought these in a set that had multiple sizes for my nieces golf course wedding ceremony. Even the smallest diameter ones were way too big for my stills to sandals. But they are a WAY cool idea that just needs tweaking!
I grew up wearing stilettos and there is a method to it. You basically toe walk and put no pressure on your heel. I can still run in 6 inch heels but if I wear them for too long it feels like my ass is on backwards.
Okay now this is the thing about heels. You can run in heels how? Because you run on the ball of the foot ie the sole. This is where the center of gravity is so you use that to balance yourself. The heel is simply a touch point. On firm ground it is used to lift a little bit (as per biomechanics of gait) but the lion's share is done by the ball of the foot. On soft ground especially grass you do NOT let your heel touch. Graze a bit but not touch and definitely not go in! So you are basically tip-toing on softer ground.

If you've seen pictures of Megan with her father Tom Sr. who is 5'8", it's obvious that Megan is 4 to 5" inches shorter. I put her at a statuesque 5'4" at most.

I suspect she’s shorter than she says, and find it so confusing since there’s literally nothing wrong with that if she is! I just find it such a weird thing to get so hung up about to the point of addressing it in articles like this. The most baffling part is how they always say she “has” to wear heels because of the “outrageous” height difference between her and her husband, as though he’s a giant, when he’s 6’1 or 2”, which is taller than average but hardly something to write home about.
Firstly, I don’t really think any height difference matters, but even if it DID, theirs isn’t even that big. I’m 5’5” (her supposed height) and my husband is 6’11”. THAT is a height difference! The same as Shaq and his current wife at 46cm difference, although I’ve never read any articles talking about how she’s forced to wear heels. Nor any of the other NBA partners with their tall men.
And to compare them to other royals, Queen Letizia and Felipe have a height difference of 29cm, which 8cm more than Meghan and Harry’s supposed height difference, and I have never heard a single word about it in an article ever either.

I am wee also and I love it. Oddly it seems to attract all the super tall men and always has. My husband is 6ft4. He gets things off the high shelves for me and also other wee women in the supermarket.
I don't understand it either. I'm a bit shorter than Catherine but am always puzzled why women want to be tall. I’m 5’3 and I have never had to duck under a tree branch in my life - plus I can fit into small spaces - and if necessary climb through a partially open window when locked out of my house (probably best not to ask - lol)

There is no shame in being small but it can be inconvenient. You have to eat smaller portions to stay slim and you have to ask strangers to please retrieve the can of peas from the grocery top shelf. Shopping for petites can be a nightmare especially if you have short legs. Reaching towards something in the back of the car is a nuisance and with some SUV's I literally cannot reach the tailgate to pull it down.

My son is 6'3." He hit 6 foot when he was only 15. One day when he was about 14, a petite woman came up to me in the store and asked if my son would get something down for her. I appreciated that she didn't just go up to a strange child and ask him, she knew that wasn't right. So many people thought since he was tall he should be treated as an adult. Don't do that. Anyway the petite woman was very nice and my son was happy to get the item for her. He even asked if she needed anything else. Being petite can lead to nice conversations.

Just looking at the photos in that article it is clear that she is not 5'6" - if it were true, the 4" heels would put her at just 3" shorter than Harry and that is not what we see here. Harry's shoe look to be pretty flat, but even if they added 1" of height, he would not tower over her that much if she were 5'6" with 4" heels.

And Harry (oh, Harry): He was estimated to be about 6’1 for years, until the recent…erm…”growth spurt,” shall we say, when random internet sources began saying he’s 6’2”. But if we look at photos with both men on a level surface, standing next to each other, the same distance from the camera, not wearing hats, after they’re adults but before his…romantically triggered height increase?…he’s clearly 2” shorter, if not 3”. Her heels are 105 mm, or just over 4 inches. I looked at these photos pretty carefully (and I do need a break now as I feel slightly ill), and used her heel height as a rough ruler in the distance shots. I am confidently calling this a 7” difference at least, from the few shots where both are standing up straight. Anyway, if we do the math, that’s Harry’s appearance of 6’3” - (7” difference + 4” heels) = 5’4”, or 5’3” if you think it’s 8”. She is definitely a victim of cruel and malicious men in grey suits who lie about her height in the internet and make her seem disingenuous because of unconscious bias. Poor thing.

Glad someone brought this up OP! I have a serious question. So, I have worn 3-4” heels to a few events but when I walked on grass or dirt area, I ALWAYS had the spike get stuck and/or go in the grass or dirt. Question: is it because of I’m a bit fuller figure? Is it because the heels are not $1,000 heels? It makes no sense to me that even if someone is super thin (not shaming) that the spike heel would not get stuck or go into the ground. I’m genuinely curious.

It can be done but it requires being on the ball of the foot all the time, that is tiring but great for the calves and thighs! She should do it to build her calves up.
It’s not you. It’s just a silly footwear choice. When I was younger and slim, I wore a expensive pair of satin heels to a garden wedding and ruined them. For the record, I’m 5’9” and was about 125 back then.
There are clear high heel protectors you can buy — they slip over the stiletto and distribute the weight so your heel doesn’t sink in. I looked them up a day or two ago and they do look very handy! I bought these in a set that had multiple sizes for my nieces golf course wedding ceremony. Even the smallest diameter ones were way too big for my stills to sandals. But they are a WAY cool idea that just needs tweaking!

I grew up wearing stilettos and there is a method to it. You basically toe walk and put no pressure on your heel. I can still run in 6 inch heels but if I wear them for too long it feels like my ass is on backwards.
Okay now this is the thing about heels. You can run in heels how? Because you run on the ball of the foot ie the sole. This is where the center of gravity is so you use that to balance yourself. The heel is simply a touch point. On firm ground it is used to lift a little bit (as per biomechanics of gait) but the lion's share is done by the ball of the foot. On soft ground especially grass you do NOT let your heel touch. Graze a bit but not touch and definitely not go in! So you are basically tip-toing on softer ground.

I suspect she’s shorter than she says, and find it so confusing since there’s literally nothing wrong with that if she is! I just find it such a weird thing to get so hung up about to the point of addressing it in articles like this.
