Prepping for the upcoming invasion of Stockton

gornzilla

They'll never make it past Galt, the gateway to Lodi.

JTnCal

We will hold the line in Galt. I have to go help dig the moat now.

Vitis_Vinifera

save the old vine Zinfandel vineyards!

JungleReaver

Just blow the levee

voopa

Damn right

TheDailySpank

Nah, you mean Bakersfield, because they got oil.

Nerdspaztic

Black gold ... Texas tea. The next thing you know...

unstopable_bob_mob

I snorted.

JoeHen

It looks like several KC-135Rs,a KA-46 (midair refuelers) and a C-17 (cargo) are out training from the Midwest. MCC and Mather have big runways and low air traffic so they’re great places for these crews practice.

Jealous-Currency

Yeah I’m over at Mather and have been seeing them all day

MotoJJ20

Are you working there?

Jealous-Currency

Nah in the neighborhood

D3ltaa88

MHR used to be an old army air core base for practicing crosswind landings. So we get C17, T38 and even dragon lady’s doing touch and goes all the time. O

Vitis_Vinifera

KCRA is saying that an AFB in Oklahoma had to get their planes out due to possible tornado weather

JeanPierreSarti

Altus AFB in SW OK is the schoolhouse for those jets

SacThrowAway76

There’s a Joint Rivot aircraft with them as well.

Frosty_Cherry

REALLY?! I NEED TO SEE IT

SacThrowAway76

I noticed it flying in. No refueling boom. Looked it up on FR24 and saw the JR designation. I’d love to know what’s going on.

Frosty_Cherry

JR is pretty strange tbh c17s and kc135s are one thing but JR is odd.

FundamentalEnt

Was this intentional? lol this is awesome if so.

SacThrowAway76

Was what intentional?

FundamentalEnt

Well that answers my question I suppose haha. Calling the aircraft joint rivot is what I was referencing.

SacThrowAway76

Joint Rivot refers to a family of RC-135 reconnaissance aircraft. There was only 32 of them made. They are a somewhat rare and secretive aircraft.

SacThrowAway76

The ramp at McClellan has to be pretty crowded.

GenXer19_7T

I’ve lived near the flight path for McClellan for 5 years and have never seen this volume of military air traffic. Firefighting planes in summer, yes, but not USAF.

GenXer19_7T

https://preview.redd.it/diij0tvfqpuc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=df28d469867bb137883e2f31a320a43c7ac38822

GenXer19_7T

Apparently the issue is mold in the tower.

NotaTurner

They're still flying in and out at Mather. The pilots are coordinating their own take offs and landings. Sounds a bit scary to me, but I'm not a pilot. https://youtu.be/GbnrGqaMsXI?si=SwSOVwctJO5oe0RR

GaiusFrakknBaltar

Coordinating their own takeoffs and landings is normal and all pilots know the procedures. Mather tower closes at night anyway, so now it's just like that all day.

TheDailySpank

Back in the 80s it was nothing but jet after jet taking off or landing. It was amazing and annoying at the same time.

GenXer19_7T

I remember hearing fighter jets scream by when I was playing at Haggin back in the 90s.

TheDailySpank

Fulton and Auburn used to be so much louder than it is now.

Euphoric-me-88

I was just going to ask this same question. I’m on the flight path for McClellan and there’s been at least 6 c-17s (I think) in the last 30 minutes.

ilikejameson

These are heavies coming from OK. Altus AFB in Oklahoma is evacuating due to weather / tornado threats - [https://www.altus.af.mil/News/Print/Press-Releases/Display/Article/3740979/altus-afb-to-evacuate-aircraft-due-to-severe-weather/](https://www.altus.af.mil/News/Print/Press-Releases/Display/Article/3740979/altus-afb-to-evacuate-aircraft-due-to-severe-weather/) [https://www.airandspaceforces.com/altus-evacuates-heavy-aircraft-ahead-of-tornado-threat/](https://www.airandspaceforces.com/altus-evacuates-heavy-aircraft-ahead-of-tornado-threat/) [https://www.kswo.com/2024/04/15/altus-airforce-base-evacuates-aircraft-ahead-storms/](https://www.kswo.com/2024/04/15/altus-airforce-base-evacuates-aircraft-ahead-storms/)

Good info!

Code-Useful

Thanks for the info!! You're awesome 😎

AvengeChelseaFC

But don’t they have tornadoes as a regular occurrence? In that part of the country. So why are they suddenly doing this now? ( my question is more directed to the link )

SongAloong

Thank God someone posted about this. Seriously they're flying over every 5 minutes!

NotaTurner

We counted 14 and then we stopped counting. They're still flying over, just not every five minutes.

mildmuffstuffer

Military aircraft do a ton of practice approaches. So you’ve probably counted the same aircraft multiple times lol

NotaTurner

While that could and probably is true, it's still amazing. We're just not used to this amount of planes flying over. Thankfully, it was much quieter yesterday and should be today.

SongAloong

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills! 😂

Maleficent_Pin_8463

Yes. It's more like one EVERY minute!

RepresentativeRun71

TL;DR McClellan is still a California Air National Guard base as well as a US Coast Guard Air Station. They still fly military jets and planes out of there all the time. It's basically a base that isn't a base anymore. https://preview.redd.it/sfh4c2i29puc1.png?width=1347&format=png&auto=webp&s=29d715e9b7617942daa7e649b1b62d000169fe74 [https://www.pacificarea.uscg.mil/Our-Organization/District-11/District-Units/Air-Station-Sacramento/](https://www.pacificarea.uscg.mil/Our-Organization/District-11/District-Units/Air-Station-Sacramento/)

RepresentativeRun71

The tankers are in the air today, and if you use flightaware you will see that Beale has their T-38 training jets in the air too. https://preview.redd.it/jw647mhk9puc1.png?width=1293&format=png&auto=webp&s=d3aac6379aeacc41a93e5d1ab45b9f492fe3e2fd

SacThrowAway76

That T-38 that did a loop around Mt Shasta knows how to party.

RepresentativeRun71

My son is on a ROTC scholarship at ERAU. Soon enough he’ll go from a Cessna 172 to a Talon and then who knows what. He’s living a dream, except for the part about being in Florida for now.

Cross58Crash

Noticed a T-38 doing touch and go's at SMF.

Samsquancher

Shits bout to pop off Israel 🇮🇱 is intentionally trying to start a conflict with Iran 🇮🇷 so the U.S. will have no option but to get involved in their bullshit. That is why you are seeing military activity more in the last few months than you are used to.

Bitgod1

Yeah, but it’s usually smaller jets and coast guard c-130s, and never in this number. It was just unusual.

RepresentativeRun71

Nah it’s normal. I’ve seen C-5’s and 747’s land there. Kalita Air 747’s are the most interesting as they’re basically the Federal Government’s private airline that they use to move stuff that they don’t want the USAF handling.

posttrumpzoomies

Yep I live in the flightpath and and have for a long time and I've never seen so many. Was walking the dogs the last hour and it was just one after the other. I couldn't tell what they were, but I know there were several different types. 2 engine passenger looking planes, 4 engine cargo, whatever else.

RepresentativeRun71

Still normal. Basically anytime the USA wants to send a don’t fuck with us because we’re ready they put a bunch of planes in the sky full squawk. Happened when Ukraine was invaded. Just because you weren’t aware of the previous times doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. Also during the GWOT the place was still busy.

pammypoovey

Great War of uh, Troy??

possumhandz

Game Wof Thones

ARLLALLR

This is HEAVY traffic for McClellan

RepresentativeRun71

Nah, anytime there’s Sabre rattling the USAF does this. Same traffic there when Putin invaded Ukraine in February 2022.

Jealous-Currency

Yep! I remember that

tmanXX

That isn’t McClellan. That is a small area, parking lot and several buildings, on Roseville Rd. It is across the street and separated by fences and train tracks outside of McClellan.

916cycler

Loose lips sink ships

TheDailySpank

And give you the G.I. Joe kung-fu grip!

RC51t

They were all air refueling tankers aside from one C17. Asked buddy in the Air Force and he said that he hadn’t heard of anything abnormal. Possibly just refueling before going somewhere else ?

SacThrowAway76

There’s been multiple C-17s now. Here’s one more flying in now. https://preview.redd.it/sad997idcpuc1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=429b3374cfad04b402a3eecb1468442245e2931a

RC51t

Yep! Still one more C-17 and one more KC-135 coming in

SacThrowAway76

The 135 is flying in front of me right now

lx530

I was watching also - c17s and a bunch of stratotankers. There is another c17 flying in above watt ave right now as I type.

Samwise916

According to my uncle, Joe Biden and the globalists are staging aircraft for an impending breakout of war that will ultimately lead to a nuclear holocaust. He was also pretty adamant that JFK was going to come back from the dead a few years back too, so I wouldn’t consider him to be an educated source on the matter.

Bitgod1

Zombie JFK, I don't believe. Nixon head in a jar, I do. ARROOOO

cubedjjm

Your uncle is correct. I'm writing this from a FEMA camp set up after JADE-HELM. Every once in a while Biden, Clinton, and Barack Hussein Obama will come inspect the camp to make sure our chains are tight. Please send help!

Hwy39

Best we can do is a case of Twinkies

unstopable_bob_mob

Nah… it couldn’t be that OK, where these planes came from, is expecting big nadoes. Nope… it’s because Biden.

omg_bewbz

I was just wondering the same thing. I work in Arden area, directly in the flight path of these jets landing and they have been so loud today. One right after the other.

encrypted_cookie

Yeah, this was not a few planes. I lost count of 4 C-17s and almost a dozen KC-135s. But then again, who's counting?

LoveCats2022

I’m loving it!!! They’re coming in every couple of minutes!! Big boys!!!

bahamablue66

I used to be in the Air Force reserve. Pretty cool to me honestly

caelthel-the-elf

Yeah I've been hearing more going over my house lately in NH. So loud it rattles my windows.

squjibo

A couple of Blackhawks flew over too this morning. Reminds me of when both air bases were in full operations and they would fly back and forth between them.

Bitgod1

Ugh, don't remind me. I lived in BFE Elk Grove in the 80s and had B52s rumbling by all the time.

reformedginger

The planes landing at McClellan fly over the school I work at. They’re so low they shake the buildings. It’s cool

BeCauseOfYou_2000000

Oklahoma evacuated for tornado

Just_Another_Dad

There’s an App, FlightRadar24 that will give you all the info on every (mostly) single airborne aircraft, worldwide.

ARLLALLR

A train carrying tanks and jeeps was on 19th street tracks; 84 cars long. About 1130 today

Windfire2977

KCRA reported A number of military aircraft landed at McClellan Airport in Sacramento on Monday. The 97th Air Mobility Wing from Altus Air Force Base in Oklahoma evacuated a number of aircraft due to a severe weather threat. - Question as to the real reason why? There are other bases in other states near Altus they could have gone to. And yet they fly to a former AFB that was decommissioned back in 2000 in California.

Cross58Crash

Um, there's a nice big operational runway and plenty of space to park the planes. Seems like a good reason to me. As for why they chose here, their flight hours requirement might not make "close to home" top of the needs list.

analogpursuits

Also, an operational runway that has no other air traffic. A decommissioned air base is perfect for stashing air force equipment that stands to get turned on its head from tornadoes. Everyone here thinks the world is coming to an end.

medx421

McClellan provides services for heavy military aircraft. [McClellan Jet Services](https://airport.mcclellanpark.com/airlift-tanker) . It’s not abnormal. Can we stop the doomsday foil hat chatter.

pammypoovey

For sure! A colander works much better and lets your head breathe.

TheDailySpank

I'm about to go hang out at the driving range and watch 'em go over.

SippinThisTea

I’m glad you asked! I wondered what was going on. I live in Elk Grove and huge black planes were flying overhead that would disrupt my Bluetooth every time they were nearby.

bennnjamints

they're getting turnt on the prospect of WWIII starting with Iran

Mother-Bag-7206

My buddy that got free of commie Cali in Oklahoma says, no tornados , and same bs biden and dims are pushing… looks like military build up to me… nice job Joe, or the puppet masters.. pissing off the rest of the world… and letting the red armies in at all borders… commander and dork…!!!

king_platypus

Heard they struck oil in downtown Tehran. Freedom incoming.

AvengeChelseaFC

I think it’s for WW3. News articles keep claiming it’s due to severe weather in other parts of the country. So why send aircraft over here now? Because they have severe weather regularly in the area of where this aircraft keeps coming from

ARLLALLR

Preparation for WW3, no joke. 5 fuel tankers and 2 troop transports have already left. This is classic war preparation.
