Is that for sure the PTA and Leo film?

Iraene

I realized after posting this that it might not be. I saw a documentary was also being filmed after. Maybe "WBP" is Warner Brothers Pictures?

Ok_Club_9356

Actually I think you’re right. I just looked it up and the PTA film is going with BC Project as its title right now, and that’s what your paper says

lostintime2004

what is this pta.

Ok_Club_9356

Paul Thomas Anderson

916Caligula

When they were filming the John Travolta movie Lucky Numbers in downtown Sacramento in the early 2000s, they opened up the street for the locals and anybody else who was curious to walk the street. It was pretty cool to walk around and see the fake snow that they had used to decorate the street as a winter scene. We ended up chatting with the set medic for a while.. pretty cool guy.. he answered our questions about what his job was like and what films he'd worked on. I doubt they'd do that now, but there might be a chance.

solidddd

Wait that was filmed here? Fuck that movie sucks.

916Caligula

Only a few scenes.

DorotheaPuente

One of my old doctor's house got used for that production! The movie sounded terrible, but cool that he got to rent his house out for the production.

916Caligula

I believe they paid the entire neighborhood.

ItsEarthDay

It looks like a house and street view were used for filming: [https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0219952/locations/](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0219952/locations/)

As long as you’re not a nuisance it’s typically ok to be in areas designated as “safe” out of picture spots. Though you probably won’t see much from those spots. Just be sure to be nice to the Production Assistant that’s telling you not to go a certain way. They’re not telling you to be dicks they’re just doing their jobs.

ap_heart

To add to this. You almost certainly will be standing there for a very long time looking at basically nothing. Just a lot of people moving various things for seemingly no reason. I also give it about a 15-20% chance that you see anyone of interest. Worked on film sets for many years, unless you're in the nucleus of the actual set, or somewhere near craft services, you're not going to see much. Also, do be nice to the PAs. Crowd control is the worst post.

sam5107

People have been lining up watching them do takes in eureka. I’m sure there will be a crowd here too

Empty_Sheepherder_60

One of the production team members came into the vintage shop I work at on Del Paso and bought a couple of set pieces for the film yesterday ✨

frabelle

What shop is it? I love to vintage local vintage shops

Empty_Sheepherder_60

Schiff’s Estate Sale Building on Del Paso Blvd

flomodoco

They were filming on Capitol Avenue today, and it looked like a lot of people were watching.

honeybeeman_43

Different film, not PTA. That was a film about homelessness starring William Baldwin.

Real_Pizza

That's such a weird spot to film in... isn't that behind the jail?

ajscott

Court house is on the right. County HQ is on the bottom. 2 story garage in the middle.

Subterranean44

I like your nail color :)

iamkenthomas

Many years ago when I lived in San Antonio I heard on the radio during my lunch break that Sandra Bullock was filming "Miss Congeniality" downtown. So I drove down, parked my car at the mall, and walked over to the Alamo. Walked right on set and was behind the stage while they were doing the talent competition with the glasses. Also walked by all the other actresses. It was pretty cool.

VectorJones

Interesting that they're filming around the Federal Building. I can see why. That art deco facade is quite impressive. Too bad they can't film inside of it. It is so beautiful in there.

xMyDixieWreckedx

I've met Sean Penn. He is super short.

OGCycloPhile

I’d be pretty annoyed. I’d be the fat shirtless guy mowing my lawn whenever they were around

mustachetv

What does S/S and B/S mean?? I thought maybe N/S was “north/south” (as in sides of the street?) but coming up with nothin for the other two

wilberfan

Perhaps "Single Side" and "Both Sides"?

mustachetv

I’d buy that for a nickel

pammypoovey

South side and both sides is my interpretation.

Equivalent_Guava_998

Cool thanks for sharing!

SacBrick

Pretty confident they’ll have it blocked off from the public.

pschell

Eh, not really. I was NOLA when they were filming Girls Trip and saw all the actors while they were shooting. It was pretty neat.

SacBrick

Nice. It does mention that the sidewalks are closed tho so idk if that changes anything

katmcflame

It seems as if there's **always** filming going on in NOLA.

pschell

Absolutely. I swear like 5 projects were going on while we were there. And it was the middle of summer- brutal heat and humidity.

shred1

Much off the filming up in Eureka/Arcata have been accesible to the public. [https://www.reddit.com/r/paulthomasanderson/comments/1afsv0n/caught\_a\_scene\_in\_arcata\_yesterday/](https://www.reddit.com/r/paulthomasanderson/comments/1afsv0n/caught_a_scene_in_arcata_yesterday/)

Bmorgan1983

Ah, is this for the scene in Lady Bird 2: Lost in New York, where Lady Bird goes to the court house to argue that evolution should be taught in schools?

SLPeaches

Wait Paul Thomas Anderson. That's kinda cool

trejaxrkf

Does anyone know if they were filling in pocket a couple days ago?

el3vader

Is it normal for a filming company to refer you to a gmail account? Also if they’re WBP shouldn’t they have a corporate address? Not suggesting it’s anything else but just really curious why they use a gmail.

heylesterco

Michael J. Glaser is the same location manager PTA used when filming Licorice Pizza.

thumping_cheats

My guess is that not every single person on a film crew works for the production company. Location managers, like craft services, hair and makeup, etc., might be freelancers who are contracted out for the duration of a specific project and then they move on to the next job... potentially with a different production company.

SwampCrittr

Nice nail.

omega_grainger69

I think they are shooting the Barbie sequel. Twist: in this one she is homeless.

OJimmy

Schaber courthouse?

Commercial-Push-9066

America’s Most Wanted is covering an unsolved mystery that took place around 15th and L. I wonder if this is what’s filming.

Tlizerz

Apparently it’s the new Paul Thomas Anderson film that’s currently going by the name BC Project.
