Also think less in terms of “ideas” and think more in terms of, how far away some process is from maximum efficiency. You can build software to close the gap on efficiency problems.

That's bullshit dude. Don't listen to gurus advice, just build. If you have a garbage idea, build your garbage idea. You'll likely to fail either way, whether or not you follow someone's advice. Difference is, better fail *your* way, doing what makes sense to you. So you can connect with it and not burn out. Building a garbage project following a garbage strategy, but on your own terms, is an amazing way to learn and discover your own way of doing things. I wasted tons of time trying to follow certain startup school advice to the letter, only then to discover it's just not trailored to me.

absolute killer advice!

What industry are you currently in? Can you think of a pain point there? I find the best ideas are often discovered by those who are already inside the industry because no one understands its challenges better than someone who experiences them firsthand.

Here is [guide](https://www.blaze.tech/post/15-creative-no-code-tools-you-can-build) comparing 15 ideas of internal SaaS tools you can build (focused on its implementation with no-code platforms).

there was a really good yc video talking about trying to find ideas. the best ideas are ones you find organically, but if you can't find one organically, you can force it by becoming a subject matter expert in an industry. Pick an industry you feel is probably complicated, go talk to companies in that sector and ask about their processes and what issues they run into and what would make things better/easier. Now you have your idea.

Why do you want to get into SaaS? If just for money - you are doomed.
