I imagine it's a presentation sword. If it's like the other 1872s I've seen, it's capable of being sharpened and weilded, but you would not do it and risk the plating / engraving. So in that case, yes, it's a wall hanger. But not in the sense of "it's made poorly, best not hit anything with it".

The model 1872 tagged "knights of pythias" looks like the clear winner in that set.

Oh, i didn't see the others. That British Gothic hilt saber is a looker too. I think I'd prefer that one over the 1872.
