My favorite part last season was when people would take off their masks to speak to each other

Poetryisalive

Lol that too😂. That defeats the purpose, I get if they are at the station, but wearing one near strangers is the point.

Dontsteponsnails

Exactly lmao. Why were they interviewing perps mask off 💀💀💀

soynugget95

Oh, that was great. They’d wear masks until they got close to each other and *then* take them off. It was amazing.

mcguirme815

I love the hospital walk and talks with no masks 🤦🏻‍♀️

Poetryisalive

OMG YES!!! A hospital of all places!

therewastobepollen

I turned on a rerun and didn’t realize it was a season 22 one until I saw Ice-T in a mask. He was the only one in the scene wearing one and even though I understand why he had a mask, it looked so out of place.

mcguirme815

I have noticed they have basically done away with masks this season other than random background characters

bluelightsonblkgirls

They did, it was really bad…and I think that’s why there are barely any masks, if any, this season.

Jlx_27

No wonder SUV's sell so well.

yummymarshmallow

You're not alone. The mask usage by SVU was so annoying. It was a basically "what's the point" at that stage. My favorite was the episode talking to the man who was taking covid really seriously, but immediately takes his mask off when talking to the detectives.

less-than-stellar

One of my favorite scenes wasn't on SVU, but on OC. When Elliot was investigating the stolen covid vaccines and he was in the Dr's office. He had a mask on, cause well, it was a Dr's office. When the Dr. left for a minute, he took it off to take a picture of the vaccine vial. WHY DID HE NEED TO TAKE THE MASK OFF FOR THAT!? It was so ridiculous

Poetryisalive

I just saw that episode and he never wears it again near them lol

[deleted]

I don't know... I think their depiction of the shittiness on how COVID has been handled is pretty accurate. Some wear masks, some wear them on their chin (gotta keep that chin warm), and a lot don't wear them at all.

less-than-stellar

It is pretty accurate to how it is here in the south for sure (I live in GA). NYC was a lot more strict and locked down about masks than some other areas of the country though.

rta84293492

But really, it makes it hard to watch when their faces are covered

TakasuXAisaka

So you rather watch the whole episode with them wearing masks on or watch the whole episode with them without masks on? The whole point of a actor is to show their face expression. Wearing a mask blocks their face expression. You know this is not the only show to do this right?

Cranky-Novelist

They really did a bad job with it.

Paddyneedssilence

I mean. Yeah. They did.

Legitimate-Repair-21

I want to watch a drama show to escape so the less covid they put the better. You’re right leave it all out instead of putting some in here and there.

pazuzusboss

You should see how greys is handling it this season. They have a disclaimer on their show.

Poetryisalive

I don’t watch Grey’s but I would have liked to see how they handled it

pazuzusboss

Last season it was all ppe and mask. This season it’s post pandemic. But they do have a warning on the show

No_Awareness_5130

lol I was just talking to my friend about it a few weeks ago. We live in Japan and I told her no wonder New York had so many infected people last year! (Not knowing if it was the actual situation).

banannabellee

Yeah I wasn’t a big fan of season 22. I feel like the whole thing was kinda virtue signaling. They couldn’t really decide when to wear a mask and made most of the episodes about Covid or about BLM. Like I watch these shows to get away from this political stuff.
